A Comparison on Effect of Stabilization Methods for Heavy Metal contaminated Farm Land Soil by the Field Demonstration Experiment (현장실증시험을 통한 중금속 오염농경지의 안정화처리공법 효과비교)

  • A long-term field experiment of the selected stabilization methods(Cover system, full range and upper range treatment) was conducted to reduce the heavy metal mobility in farmland soil which was contaminated by heavy metals around abandoned mine site. Field experiments were established on the contaminated farmland with the wooden plate and filled with treated soil, which was mixed with lime stone and steel reforming slag except on control plot. Soil samples were collected and analyzed during the experiment period(about 4 months) after the installation of the plots. Field demonstration experiments results showed that the cover system and the full range treatment of the selected stabilization methods applied to the application ratio of lime stone 5% and steel refining slag 2% were effective for immobilizing heavy metal components in contaminated farmland soil.

  • In this paper, this program which is Retrieval System using Image Gray-scale histogram and Edge features is used to reduce the errors incurred by inputting methods which are used in a current Retrieval System. The Retrieval Algorithm is proceeding with several steps which are extracting features of images quality, extracting edge features and refining images, analysing extracted features, retaining important information from analyzed features, retrieving retained information from database, extracting and comparing among images from retrieved database. The proposed Retrieval System is used for a fast retrieval with accuracy and it is confirmed through simulations.

Application of graded harmonic FE in the analysis of 2D-FGM axisymmetric structures

  • A graded harmonic finite element formulation based on three-dimensional elasticity theory is developed for the structural analysis of 2D functionally graded axisymmetric structures. The mechanical properties of the axisymmetric solid structures composed of two different metals and ceramics are assumed to vary in radial and axial directions according to power law variations as a function of the volume fractions of the constituents. The material properties of the graded element are calculated at the integration points. Effects of material distribution profile on the static deformation, natural frequency and dynamic response analyses of particular axisymmetric solid structures are investigated by changing the power law exponents. It is observed that the displacements, stresses and natural frequencies are severely affected by the variation of axial and radial power law exponents. Good accuracy is obtained with fewer elements in the present study since Fourier series expansion eliminates the need of finite element mesh in circumferential direction and continuous material property distribution within the elements improves accuracy without refining the mesh size in axial and radial directions.

  • Clustering methods is divided into hierarchical clustering, partitioning clustering, and more. If the amount of documents is huge, it takes too much time to cluster them in hierarchical clustering. In this paper we deal with K-Means algorithm that is one of partitioning clustering and is adequate to cluster so many documents rapidly and easily. We propose the new method of selecting initial seeds in K-Means algorithm. In this method, the initial seeds have been selected that are positioned as far away from each other as possible.

  • We studied medicinal theory on processing drugs of Wang-Ang. Wang-Ang used various methods of medicinal processing. He used such as soaking(浸), maceration(泡), washing(洗), elutriation(淘), mixing together(拌), refining powder with water(水飛) and floating(水漂) in medicinal processing with water. He used such as making hot(?), roasting in ashes(?), stir-frying with liquid(炙), parching(炒), heating(燒), baking(焙), stirring-baking(?) and distilling(煉) in medicinal processing with fire. He used such as steaming(蒸), boiling(煮), making hot and soaking(??) in medicinal processing with water and fire. And He used such as cooking(熟), making drugs into gelatin(制膠), making drugs into frostlike powder(制霜法), making drugs into bead(制珠), fermentation(生衣) and compound medicinal processing(複制法).

  • Slopping deteriorates the productivity and the stability of operation in BOF refining process, and hence POSCO has developed methods to predict and prevent slopping. Specific equipment was developed to measure the change of the reacting force to the oxygen-blowing lance against oxygen jet and the force was gathered and analyzed with the flow rate of oxygen and the height of lance. From this study, it was found that the reacting force is strongly correlated to the slag foam height. Currently, the modeling of the relation of the slag foaming level and the vertically acted force to lance is being approached for predicting the slopping.

  • Past research has concentrated on refining two-dimensional analysis techniques. Rather extensive comparisons of various two-dimensional methods have been made. This paper described a general three-dimensional method of analysis by which any geometrical condition and any c, phi soil can be analyzed. The results are as follows; 1. Factors of safety computed for 3-dimensional geometry differ considerably from ordinary 2-dimensional factors of safety. 2. 3-dimensional factors of safety are generally much higher than 2-dimensional factors of safety. However, situations appear to exist where the 3-dimensional factor of safety can be lower than the 2-dimensional factor of safety. 3. The F3/F2 ration appears to be quite sensitive to c, phi and to the slope.

  • In recent years, NASA, FAA and the aerospace industry, through MIL-HDBK-17 and the NASA-conceived AGATE(Advanced General Aviation Transport Experiments) program, have worked together to reduce the qualification burden imposed on individual aircraft manufacturers. AGATE is one of the most successful public/private cost-haring partnerships ever conceived, bringing together academia, the FAA, other government agencies and industry to develop affordable new technologies and accompanying industry standards and certification methods. In 2005, NASA established NCAMP(National Center for Advanced Materials Performance) with the purpose of refining and enhancing the AGATE process to a self-sustaining level to serve the entire aerospace industry in partnership with CMH-17, FAA, and SAE. In this paper, I will introduce briefly NCAMP process and explain its organization structure and core NCAMP documents. This paper can provide some help in establishing our certification system for composite materials where the NCAMP process is expected to be the most good model.

  • Dynamic and explicit ordering of strategies is a key process in modeling knowledge-level problem-solving behavior. This paper addressed the important problem of howl to make the scheduler more knowledge-intensive in a way that facilitates the acquisition, integration, and maintenance of the scheduler control knowledge. The solution a, pp.oach described in this paper involved formulating the scheduler task as a heuristic classification problem, and then implementing it as a classification expert system. By doing this, the wide spectrum of known methods of acquiring, refining, and maintaining the knowledge of a classification expert system are a, pp.icable to the scheduler control knowledge. One important innovation of this research is that of recursive heuristic classification : this paper demonstrates that it is possible to formulate and solve a key subcomponent of heuristic classification as heuristic classification problem. Another key innovation is the creation of a method of dynamic heuristic classification : the classification alternatives that are selected among are dynamically generated in real-time and then evidence is gathered for and aginst these alternatives. In contrast, the normal model of heuristic classification is that of structured selection between a set of preenumerated fixed alternatives.

  • Kwangyang Yeosu Port is consisted of narrow strait and inclosed harbor and also where is frequently occurred maritime pollution accidents at seas bemuse of a lot of sea traffics for major oil refining company including Yeocheon National Complex. In the paper, we suggest methods to quickly remove the pollutants at seas form maritime pollution accidents in kwangyang Yeosu Port and also protect environmental life and property.
