효모를 사용한 한지직물의 천연인디고 염색 : 효모농도와 반복염색 효과 (Natural Indigo Dyeing of Hanji Fabric using Baker's Yeast: Effect of Yeast Concentration and Repeat Dyeing)

  • In this study, an eco-friendly indigo reduction system(scale up reduction, use of buffer solution, and pH control) using baker's yeast(Saccharomyces cerevisiae) was applied for natural indigo(Polygonum tinctorium) dyeing of Hanji fabric and Hanji-mixture fabric(Hanji/Cotton, Hanji/Silk). The effect of concentration of baker's yeast, repeat dyeing, and bath reuse was investigated in terms of dye uptake indicating reduction power. And the oxidation-reduction potential(ORP) was monitored. We also evaluated color properties and colorfastness according to the color strength. The yeast concentration did not significantly affect the maximum reduction power. However, the highest yeast concentration was effective in improving the initial dye uptake, and its the reduction retention power was the most excellent. Even on the last reduction day, the effect of increasing the dye uptake by repeat dyeing was observed. And it was confirmed that the reduction bath could be reused for up to 30 days by supplementing yeast at the end of reduction. For all the fabrics used, deeper and darker PB color were obtained by repeat dyeing. As dyeing was repeated, purplish tint got stronger on the Hanji/Silk fabric compared to other fabrics. Regardless of the composition of Hanji fabrics and color strength, washing and dry cleaning fastness were relatively good with above rating 4-5, and fastness to rubbing and light were acceptable with a rating 3-4 ~ 4-5. The eco-friendly natural indigo dyeing process using niram and baker's yeast would offer global marketability and diversity of Hanji product as a sustainable high value-added material.

서낙동강 유역 해반천의 수질 개선을 위한 비점오염관리대책 효과 분석 (Assessment of the Non-point Source Pollution Control Strategies for Water Quality Improvement in the Haeban Stream of West Nakdong River Watershed)

  • 이 연구에서는 서낙동강을 구성하는 소유역 중 대지면적 비율이 크고 인구밀도가 높은 해반천 유역의 유출 및 수질을 모의하기 위한 HSPF(Hydrological Simulation Program-FORTRAN)모형을 개발하였다. 유역에서 발생하는 비점오염 부하량을 관리하기 위한 세 가지 시나리오가 개발되어 모형에 적용되었고, 오염부하량의 감소와 부하지속곡선에 대비한 수질 기준 초과율이 분석되었다. 시나리오는 비점오염의 발생을 줄이기 위한 도로 청소, 다양한 저영향 개발 기법을 고려한 유출 저감 조치, 그리고 강으로 들어가는 비점오염원을 완화하기 위한 유입 저감 조치로 구성되었다. 첫 번째 시나리오에서는 김해시의 도로 청소 차량 수와 같은 실제 조건이 고려되었으며, 두 번째와 세 번째 시나리오에서는 적용 가능한 토지 이용별 면적의 50%에 저영향 개발 기법을 적용하는 것으로 적용되었다. 모든 세 가지 조치를 적용한 결과, BOD 오염 물질 부하가 58.28%, T-N은 58.49%, T-P는 51.56% 감소할 수 있는 것으로 도출되었다. 또한, 5년간 누적된 수질 측정의 60번째 백분위수를 목표 수질로 설정하고 구축된 유량지속곡선에 의한 초과율분석 결과, 결과적으로, BOD의 경우 조치 적용 전 41.57%의 초과율이 조치 후 16.32%로 감소하여, 초과율이 25.25% 감소하였다. T-N의 경우 조치 전 40.31%에서 조치 후 22.84%로, T-P의 경우 62.43%에서 27.22%로 감소하였다.

  • Drugs mean not only medicines but also poisons, pesticides, food additives, cosmetics, cleaning agents, environmental pollutants and so on, which are normally considered foreign to the body, It is important to know what happens to these drugs when they get into the body. In the past the metabolic changes of drugs had been referred to as “detoxication mechanism”, but since there are many instances in which drugs are converted in the body to more active substances. Thus, metabolism of drugs is responsible for activation and inactivation of the drugs in the body. The major reactions in drug metabolism are oxidation, reduction, hydrolysis and conjugation. Of these four areas, most of the attention had been focused on the oxidation. Therefore, in contract of ample literatures on drug-oxidizing enzymes, there were relatively few reports on drug-reducing enzymes. In recent years, however, the reduction has received an increasing interest due to its pharmacological or toxicological significance. The present lecture is organized keeping with a focus on drug-reducing enzymes which have been explored by us and by other groups.

Integral Field Spectroscopic Data Reduction Method for High Resolution Infrared Observation

  • We introduce a technical approach for reducing three-dimensional infrared (IR) spectroscopic data generated by integral field spectroscopy or slit-scanning observations. The first part of data reduction using IRAF presents a guideline for processing spectral images from long-slit IR spectroscopy. Multichannel image reconstruction, Image Analysis and Display (MIRIAD) is used in the later part to construct and analyze the data cubes which contain spatial and kinematic information of the objects. This technic has been applied to a sample data set of diffuse 2.1218 ${\mu}m$ $H_2$ 1-0 S(1) emission features observed by slit-scanning around Sgr A East in the Galactic center. Details of image processing for the high-dispersion infrared data are described to suggest a sequence of contamination cleaning and distortion correction. Practical solutions for handling data cubes are presented for survey observations with various configurations of slit positioning.

  • A modified circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger under severe fouling condition is developed. The effects of fouling deposits on the performance of a heat exchanger are investigated. The principle and operating characteristics of a circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger are dicussed. A modified circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger shows more stable operating than the other circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger. The characteristics of self cleaning and heat transfer enhancement of a circulating fluidized bed heat exchanger are studied. The movement of spherical particles in a tube is visualized and heat transfer enhancement and scale reduction mechanism by particles are investigated.

Spin Etcher의 진동 분석 (Vibration Analysis of Spin Etcher)

  • Spin etcher can process frontside and backside on the wafer, which is used for etching, stripping, cleaning and wafer reclamation. A new generation of spin etchers has been designed to meet 300mm wafer processing. The larger header and higher spin speed make vibration problem a severe problem in developing equipments. This study shows schematic process of solving practical vibration problems, where it is required to analyze the principal ca uses of vibration problem and find out the method of vibration reduction in spin etcher. The vibration under normal operation is measured in time domain and is analyzed in frequency domain. And modal parameters are obtained through modal test. Using the modal parameters from experiments, the model of finite element method is formulated. From diagnosis using many measurements and analyses, it can be shown that main cause of vibration is unbalance of head.

공주시 노인의 주관적 건강 지식과 환경 노출 저감 행동의 관련성 (The Relationship between Subjective Health Knowledge and Environmental Exposure Reduction Behavior among the Elderly in Gongju City)

  • Objectives: In this study, the extent of environmental exposure reduction behavior among the elderly living in Gongju City was identified according to demographic and sociological characteristics of individual health behavior and environmental factors. In addition, the relationship between subjective health knowledge and environmental exposure reduction behavior among the elderly was investigated. Methods: Demographic and sociological factors, subjective health status, environmental factors, and environmental exposure reduction behavior were investigated among 120 elderly people in Gongju City. Through multiple regression analysis, variables with significant relationships with environmental exposure reduction behavior were identified (SPSS ver. 22, IBM, Armonk, NY, USA). The survey (IRB-2018-0096) was conducted over about two weeks (from Dec. 3 to 14, 2018). Results: The extent of practicing environmental exposure reduction behavior by the elderly in Gongju City was high in terms of cleaning, ventilation when cooking food, periodic outdoor activities, and ventilation when smoking. Significant variables were gender, past smoking and current non-smoking, subjective health knowledge, and subjective health status. The most influential variable was subjective health knowledge (β= .411). Conclusion: There was a significant relationship between the level of subjective health knowledge and the level of objective education for health behavior related to the reduction of environmental exposure among the elderly.

시뮬레이션을 통한 군용 망원경 미러 알루미늄 코팅 주기 예측 연구 (Military Telescope Mirror Aluminum Re-Coating Prediction Study by Simulation)

  • 망원경의 성능 유지를 위해서 중요한 것 중 하나가 미러의 재코팅이다. 미러에 코팅된 금속은 빛을 반사시키는 역할을 하며 반사율이 떨어지게 되면 망원경의 성능이 저하되므로 주기적으로 재코팅을 해야 한다. 군 무기체계로 개발되는 망원경은 성능 뿐만 아니라 임무 수행을 위한 무기체계 가용도와 장기간 사용을 위한 운용유지비 관점에서도 미러의 재코팅 주기를 예측하고 정비계획을 수립하는 것이 필요하다. 그러나 대부분 천문 연구용으로 사용되는 유사 망원경들은 예측이 아닌 경험치와 운용 환경에 따라 재코팅 주기를 결정한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 시뮬레이션을 활용하여 무기체계로 개발되는 망원경 미러의 세척 주기와 재코팅 주기를 예측하였다. 첫째, 국내외 천문연구원들의 유사 사례를 분석 및 코팅의 필요성과 코팅 주기 예측의 필요성을 확인하였다. 둘째, 데이터 분석과 모델링을 통해 미러 세척 빈도와 코팅 주기를 예측하는 시뮬레이션을 설계하였다. 마지막으로 성능을 만족하기 위한 반사율 감소 조건을 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%로 설정하고, 세척 조건 3개월, 6개월, 1년, 2년 단위로 다양화 하여 해당 조건 별 세척 주기 및 재코팅 주기를 예측하였다. 이를 통해 본 연구는 군 무기체계로서 망원경을 개발하며 정비계획을 수립하는 데 참고할 수 있는 기준을 제시하였다.

Sn-modified Platinized Ti 전극 제조를 위한 Ti의 백금 도금 특성 (Characteristics of Ti Platinization for Fabrication Sn-modified Platinized Ti Electrode)

  • 본 논문에서는 Ti 모재에 대한 Pt 도금 특성 연구를 통하여 안정한 platinized Ti 전극의 제조 방법이 제시되었으며, Sn이 흡착된 platinized Ti 전극의 질산염 이온에 대한 전기화학적 특성이 연구되었다. 에칭된 Ti 모재 표면에 전착된 Pt 도금 층 내에 적당하게 공간적 틈을 갖도록 도금하는 것은 도금 후 표면에 잔존하는 도금 용액 오염원을 제거하는데 효과적이며, 또 용액과 접하게 되는 전극의 실제 표면적을 최대화할 수 있었다. 제작된 platinized Ti 전극을 끓이는 과정과 전해 세정 과정을 통해 안정적이며 재현성 있게 만드는 것은 Sn-modified platinized Ti 전극에서 표면의 Sn 덮힘율을 정량화하는데 있어 매우 중요하였다. 전해 세정 과정은 전극 표면에 형성된 솜털과 같은 미세한 돌기들이 없어지면서 전극 표면을 안정화된 구조로 변화시켰다. 본 연구의 경우 질산염 이온의 환원을 목적으로 하는 Sn-modified platinized Ti 전극은 약 30분 도금 시간을 통해 제조한 경우가 가장 좋았다.

선인장 열매의 색소 추출물에 의한 양모섬유의 염색 (Dyeing of Wool Fabric by the Pigment Extracted from Opuntia Ficus-indica)

  • The pigment extraction of Opuntia ficus-indica has been conducted to develop useful natural dyes in place of synthetic dyes which are suspected to bring serious environmental pollutions. The dyeing ability on wool fabric by addition of ascorbic acid and several mordants were investigated by means of color measurement. In addition, the fastness of washing, perspiration, rubbing, light, dry cleaning, effect on bacterial reduction and UV-B protection were also investigated. From these investigation, it is suggested that the pigment extracted from Opuntia ficus-indica can be used as a source of natural dyes and the obtained result are as follows. 1. Maximum absorption band (${\lambda}max$) of Opuntia ficus-indica extract is 533nm. 2. The wool fabric dyed with Opuntia ficus-indica extract has stable color by the addition of ascorbic acid and is achieved with addition of 0.1% ascorbic acid, 0.5% several mordant, and three repeated dying at $50^{\circ}C$ for 1.5hr. 3. The wash fastness of the dyed wool fabric when it is washed with neutral detergent is more effective than alkaline detergent. The dry cleaning fastness of the dyed wool fabric is more excellent. In addition, the perspiration fastness of the dyed wool fabric is increased by mordanting method. And than the rubbing fastness of the dyed wool fabric is showed excellent under dryness and wetness. Light fastness of the dyed wool fabric, however is showed inferiority. 4. The wool fabric dyed with Opuntia ficus-indica extract is showed effective bacterial reduction and UV-B protection is increased remarkably.
