임하댐 탁수 저감을 위한 천연지오라이트 활용 실례 (The Application of Reducing Turbidity by use of Natural Zeolite in IMHA Dam)

  • Due to the Typhoon MAEMI on Sep. of 12 in 2003, the turbidity value of IMHA Dam was recorded more than 213NTU until now. The natural zeolite located in the east coast of Korean peninsula was applied to reduce turbidity with ion exchange Process. The result of this technique, the value of turbidity was reduced less than 1NTU. Also the value of pH showed stable state compare to before and after.

고주파용 유전체 세라믹 공진기의 표면처리 (Surface Treatment of Dielectric Ceramic Resonator for High Frequency Devices)

  • An electrolytic silver plating process has been successfully developed for terminated electrode parts of dielectric ceramic resonator. High adhesion strength and high Qu is obtained and blister occurance is minimized under plating condition with $HNO_3$750 $m\ell/\ell$ and HF $ 250m\ell/\ell$ solution at $25^{\circ}C$ for 20 minutes. Adhesion strength has the highest value, 3.2 kg/mm$^2$ at etching temperature of $25^{\circ}C$. Adhesion strength, Qu and blister occurance are monotonically increased with the thickness of electrodeposition layer. In case of electrodeposition of Ag, Qu value of 380 has obtained higher than in case of electrolytic Cu plating with Qu value of 325. Therefore, terminated electrode parts of dielectric ceramic resonator reducing dielectric loss can be obtained using prensent process.

Endo-xylanase, Exo-xylanase 몇 Acetyl-esterase 효소 처리한 펄프의 특성 변화 (The Character Variation of Wood-Pulp treated Three Enzyme ; Endo-xylanase, Exo-xylanase and Acetyl-esterase)

  • The wood-pulp is treated with the three enzymes; Endo-xylanase, exo-xylanase and acetyl-esterase. The maximum value of relative activity appeared 0.95 in acetyl-esterase at $40^{\circ}C$, 0.9 in exo-xylanase at $40^{\circ}C$, and 0.8 in endo-xylanase at $50^{\circ}C$, respectively. And it has measured 0.8 in endo-xylanase, 0.95 in acetyl-esterase at pH 6 and 0.9 in exo-xylanase at pH 5, while the maximum value of relative activity does not rely on reaction time for three enzymes treatment, and the value was about 0.9, respectively. We have watched that decreased Kappa number and increased brightness. And it turned out that the three enzyme produced a lot of reducing sugar with wood-pulp treatment.

  • This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of cereals on the physicochemical and ,sensory characteristics of Noti. Noti is one of Korean traditional pan-fried glutinous cereal cakes. In this case, Noti was made from the steamed glutinous Chinese millet flour. Acid value was not increased abruptly. TBA value was maintained, reducing sugar content was increased, and the average value of gelatinization degree was increased as compared with the first day that glutinous Chinese millet Noti was made during 90 day storage. Through sensory evalution, flavor, consistency(the inner part), and moistness were unfavorable according to the storage. The texture tended to increase depending upon the storage period. The hardness of glutinous Chinese millet Noti by Instron measurement was slowly increased. Cohesiveness and elasticity were increased during storage.

  • The Case Study prepared by PCPA and Lift Group will identify a growing development problem in urban areas; high value project sites that are restrictive in size or "tight" are underutilized and underdeveloped. In an effort to remedy this problem, our team will evaluate a design program through the lens of both conventional construction and Core Cantilever Construction. It is also important to differentiate between Core Cantilever construction and the plagued "Lift Slab" construction method as they may be confused, due to the top down construction sequence. This article will demonstrate that constraints inherent to conventional construction techniques prohibit economically viable development of these project sites, while Core Cantilever construction methods increase the projects value by reducing construction timelines and increasing the useable floor area.

  • This paper presents rate-distortion optimization that is considered sequence statistics(complexity) to choose the best macroblock mode decision in H.264. In previous work, Lagrange multiplier is derived by the function of constant value 0.85 and QP so that is not the proper Lagrange multilplier for any image sequence. The proposed algorithm solves the problem by changing constant value 0.85 into adaptive value which is influenced by image complexity, and by reducing the encoder complexity to estimate the image statistics with the multiplication of transformed, quantized rate and distortion. Proposed algorithm is achieved the bit-rate saving up to 5% better than previous method.

소형 어선에서 육상용기관의 효율적인 이용방법에 대한 연구 (A Study on Efficient Methods of Using Land Engine in the Small Fishing Vessel)

  • A study on the performance and exhaust emissions of diesel engine with reducing exhaust gas temperature is performed experimentally. In this paper, experiments are performed at engine speed 2200rpm, 2600rpm and load 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% by test engine with F.W. cooler passing through exhaust gas. Main measured & analyzed parameters are exhaust gas temperature, specific fuel consumption, NOx and soot emissions etc. The obtained conclusions are as follows. (1) Specific fuel consumption is the least value at load 75% and it is decreased 1.5% after remodeling F.W. cooler. (2) NOx emission is the most value at load 100% and it is increased 30.1% after remodeling F.W. cooler. (3) Soot emission is the most value at load 100% and it is decreased 20.0% after remodeling F.W. cooler.

  • Creating Shared Value (CSV) is a new business paradigm in which enterprises benefit from social works. The goal of this study is to assess greenhouse gas emission reduction through CSV-related activities of Yuhan-Kimberly (YK) Company. YK Company has planted over 50 million trees between 1984 and 2016 as a part of CSV activities. Through planting of trees, annual $CO_2 $ emission reduction ranged from 196.2 thousand to $336.3\;thousand\;tCO_2-eq$ depending on forest type in 2016, representing 44 million to 84 million KRW. Those results indicate that the company can contribute to reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as well as obtain economic profits through CSV-related activities. Furthermore, this study provides motives for other companies interested in similar CSV projects.

The impact of 5G multi-access edge computing cooperation announcement on the telecom operators' firm value

  • Since multi-access edge computing (MEC) was established as a key enabler of 5G, MEC based on 5G networks (5G MEC) has been perceived as a new business opportunity for many industry players, including telecom operators. Numerous 5G MEC cooperation announcements among companies playing their respective roles in the MEC ecosystem have been recently released. However, because of cooperative and competitive relationships among key players in the MEC ecosystem and the uncertainty of 5G MEC, the announcement of 5G MEC cooperation can negatively affect the telecom operators' firm value. This study investigates the market reaction to announcements of 5G MEC cooperation for telecom operators using an event study methodology. The empirical results show that announcements of 5G MEC cooperation have a negative impact on the telecom operators' firm value. The results also show that the early deployment of 5G networks may reduce the negative impact of 5G MEC cooperation announcements by reducing uncertainty.

Lifestyle and Sporadic Colorectal Cancer in India

  • Background: The study evaluated the patient, lifestyle and tumor profile in patients undergoing upfront surgery for sporadic colorectal cancer (CRC) in Indian population. Materials and Methods: One hundred consecutive patients were included. Details related to their demographic profile, habits, signs and symptoms, tumor profile, further treatment and follow up were recorded. Results: The majority of the patients had colonic cancer (68%), advanced tumor stage 3 & 4 (46%), moderately differentiated tumors (70%) with absence of lymphatic invasion (60%) and metastasis (90%). Correlations between tumor location and abdominal pain (p-value 0.002), bleeding per rectum (p-value <0.001), difficulty in micturition (p-value 0.012) and constipation (p-value 0.007) were found to be statistically significant. Abdominal pain was more frequently reported in patients with metastasis (p-value 0.031). Loss of weight statistically correlated with absence of lymphatic invasion (p-value 0.047). Associations between tumor stage and alcohol intake (p-value 0.050) and non vegetarian diet (p-value 0.006); lymphatic invasion and intake of spicy food (p-value 0.040) and non vegetarian diet (p-value 0.001) and metastasis and alcohol intake (p-value 0.041) were also observed. Age and tumor grade were also correlated (p-value 0.020). Conclusions: Minimizing the adverse lifestyle factors can help in reducing the overall incidence of CRC in the Indian population.
