Lightlike Hypersurfaces of an Indefinite Nearly Trans-Sasakian Manifold with an (ℓ, m)-type Connection

  • We study a lightlike hypersurface M of an indefinite nearly trans-Sasakian manifold ${\bar{M}}$ with an (ℓ, m)-type connection such that the structure vector field ζ of ${\bar{M}}$ is tangent to M. In particular, we focus on such lightlike hypersurfaces M for which the structure tensor field F is either recurrent or Lie recurrent, or such that M itself is totally umbilical or screen totally umbilical.

  • Background: The majority of patients with pancreatic cancer present with advanced disease. Systemic chemotherapy has limited impact on overall survival (OS) so that eligible patients should be selected carefully. The aim of this study was to analyze prognostic factors for survival in Turkish advanced pancreatic cancer patients who survived more than one year from the diagnosis of recurrent and/or metastatic disease and receiving gemcitabine (Gem) alone or gemcitabine plus cisplatin (GemCis). Methods: This retrospective evaluation was performed for patients who survived more than one year from the diagnosis of recurrent and/or metastatic disease and who received gemcitabine between December 2005 and August 2011. Twenty-seven potential prognostic variables were chosen for univariate and multivariate analyses to identify prognostic factors associated with survival. Results: Among the 27 variables in univariate analysis, three were identified to have prognostic significance: sex (p = 0.04), peritoneal dissemination (p =0.02) and serum creatinine level (p=0.05). Multivariate analysis by Cox proportional hazard model showed only peritoneal dissemination to be an independent prognostic factor for survival. Conclusion: In conclusion, peritoneal metastasis was identified as an important prognostic factor in metastatic pancreatic cancer patients who survived more than one year from the diagnosis of recurrent and/or metastatic disease and receiving Gem or GemCis. The findings should facilitate pretreatment prediction of survival and can be used for selecting patients for treatment.

  • For continuous maps f of the circle to itself, we show that (1) every $\omega$-limit point is recurrent (or almost periodic) if and only if every $\omega$-limit set is minimal, (2) every $\omega$-limit set is almost periodic, then every $\omega$-limit set contains only one minimal set.

  • We provide a new semilocal convergence analysis of the Gauss-Newton method (GNM) for solving nonlinear equation in the Euclidean space. Using our new idea of recurrent functions, and a combination of center-Lipschitz, Lipschitz conditions, we provide under the same or weaker hypotheses than before [7]-[13], a tighter convergence analysis. The results can be extented in case outer or generalized inverses are used. Numerical examples are also provided to show that our results apply, where others fail [7]-[13].

ON QUASI RICCI SYMMETRIC MANIFOLDS

  • In this paper, we study a type of Riemannian manifold, namely quasi Ricci symmetric manifold. Among others, we show that the scalar curvature of a quasi Ricci symmetric manifold is constant. In addition if the manifold is Einstein, then its Ricci tensor is zero. Also we prove that if the associated vector field of a quasi Ricci symmetric manifold is either recurrent or concurrent, then its Ricci tensor is zero.

  • This research was conducted to suggest a policy plan for intensive major course in recurrent education system of KNAC. A survey was answered by students, graduates, field professors and (full-time) professors. The results are summarized as follows; 1. In the item of educational operation system, there were some differences in preference among 4 examinee groups. Students preferred 'semester system', graduates and field professors did 'once per week system', and professors 'cyber+centralized training system'. 2. As entering time, students and graduates preferred 'immediately after graduation'. However, field and full-time professors preferred '1 to 3 years after graduation' that became reality. 3. As board and lodging, all examinee groups wanted 'dormitory in college'. Students and graduates were open to pay educational expenses as a level of national colleges. 4. As a curriculum, the most preferred subject by all groups was 'major field technique', which was followed by 'marketing/sale' and 'farm management' in the order of preference.

The Development and Effects of an Integrated Symptom Management Program for Prevention of Recurrent Cardiac Events after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (관상동맥 중재술 후 심질환 재발장지를 위한 통합적 증상관리 프로그램의 개발 및 효과검증)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and to determine the effects of an integrated symptom management program for prevention of recurrent cardiac events after percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods: Subjects consisted of 58 CAD patients (experimental group: 30, control group: 28). The experimental group participated in an integrated symptom management program for 6 months which was composed of tailored education, stress management, exercise, diet, deep breathing, music therapy, periodical telephone monitoring and a daily log. The control group received the usual care. Results: The experimental group significantly decreased symptom experiences and the level of LDL compared to the control group. The experimental group significantly increased self care activity and quality of life compared to the control group. Although no significant difference was found in cardiac recurrence, the experimental group had fewer recurrences. Conclusion: These results suggest that an integrated symptom management program for prevention of recurrent cardiac events after percutaneous coronary intervention can improve symptom aggravation, recurrent rate, self care activity and quality of life. Nursing interventions are needed to maintain and further enhance the quality of life of these patients and the interventions should be implemented in the overall transition period.

  • The AQI index has been developed and used to guide the action of particulate matter. Information on the AQI index can be easily provided to the general public, and various services are provided based on the AQI index. As services are provided, accurate AQI index prediction is needed. In this paper, we design the classification model using the circular neural network to predict the AQI index of particulate matter. For the evaluation of the designed model, compare the AQI index of the actual particulate matter with the predicted value.

A New Distributed Log Anomaly Detection Method based on Message Middleware and ATT-GRU

  • Logs play an important role in mastering the health of the system, experienced operation and maintenance engineer can judge which part of the system has a problem by checking the logs. In recent years, many system architectures have changed from single application to distributed application, which leads to a very huge number of logs in the system and manually check the logs to find system errors impractically. To solve the above problems, we propose a method based on Message Middleware and ATT-GRU (Attention Gate Recurrent Unit) to detect the logs anomaly of distributed systems. The works of this paper mainly include two aspects: (1) We design a high-performance distributed logs collection architecture to complete the logs collection of the distributed system. (2)We improve the existing GRU by introducing the attention mechanism to weight the key parts of the logs sequence, which can improve the training efficiency and recognition accuracy of the model to a certain extent. The results of experiments show that our method has better superiority and reliability.
