  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of resistance exercise training and high-protein diet on anabolic factors and insulin resistance of skeletal muscle in sarcopenic obese rats. 50wks of male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned for 4 groups(Chow, HP, Ex, HPEx) after 6 weeks of high-rat diet induced obesity period. The 8-week of ladder climbing exercise significantly reduced body fat and insulin resistance, significantly increased mTOR activity. However hind limb muscles weight were not changed. When treat with exercise and high-protein diet, body fat and insulin resistance did not improve, but rather the effect of exercise training appeared to be inhibited. Therefore high protein diet for improving the sarcopenic obesity may be need more study about the amount and composition of protein.

Results indicated that first the fan showed a neutral attitude toward the immigrants. In the results of the regression analysis containing foreign athletes naturalized as Korean citizens as the dependent variable, independent variables (i.e., gender and acceptance) explained 39.1% and 38% of the dependent variable, respectively, within [naturalization positive]. Within [naturalization negative] female fan and exclusive perception of immigrants positively predicted the objection to changes of athletes' nationalities. Lastly, in the results of the regression analysis containing Korean athletes who naturalized as foreign citizens as the dependent variable, fans who were older and rated higher on exclusive perception of immigrants had more negative perception of the dependent variable. • The purpose of this research is to explore the role of Taekwondo in foreign migrant workers' adaptation process in Korean society, based on segmented assimilation concept by Portes & Zhou(1993) as a theoretical framework. In order to achieve this, an in-depth interview of 13 foreign migrant workers in Gyeonggi-region was carried out by using purpose sampling and theoretical sampling together, and the interview was analyzed using grounded theory method. The analysis result demonstrated that foreign migrant workers understand Korean culture, learn Korean, and interact with Koreans through Taekwondo, which facilitates their acculturation into the mainstream society. Also, they were assimilated into their own subculture of being fascinated by the charms of Taekwondo and trying to become Taekwondo instructors by returning to their home country. Lastly, they built a social network and overcame tough labor and the difficulties of living in a foreign country through Taekwondo. This research is significant as it examined the role of Taekwondo that preserves Korean culture and checked its value, in terms of the adaptation of foreign migrant workers who take a part in the current rearrangement of Korean society into a multicultural society.

  • The winning rate is the most important indicator for running a professional baseball team because it directly affects the spectator. James(1980) suggests that the Pythagorean method is almost identical to the actual winning rate, which is known as a way of helping to establish a team strategy. In this study, it was analyzed what kind of detail difference produced difference between real winning rate and winning rate based on Pythagorean method for 10 years from 2005 to 2014. The purpose of this study is to derive a plan to improve the performance of Korean professional baseball team. The results show that the expected winning rate differs from the actual winning rate by +.062 to -.054. In the process of this result, records of base on balls of the hitter, strikeout of the hitter, base on balls of the pitcher, batting average, sacrifice fly, etc. were found to affect the performance of professional baseball team. Therefore professional baseball teams should improve their batting eye so they can get a base on balls and reduce strikeouts. In the case of a pitcher, it should be instructed to reduce the base on balls by improving the control.
