The purpose of this study is to determine the clinical nurses' knowledge of DM and diabetes patient education aptitude so as to provide a basis for clinical nurse training with respect to diabetes patient education program. The data has been collected through the questionnaires of 42 items from the Knowledge on DM and each 16 item from the Importance on the elements of diabetes patient and the Recognition for clinical nurses, respectfully. 166 nurses from a general hospital who had participated in clinical nurse training in Sep. 28 and Oct. 4, 2001 were subject to respond the questionnaires. Analysis has been done by using statistical method such as percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test and Pearson correlation coefficients. The findings are as follows: 1. Clinical nurses' knowledge levels of diabetes 1) The average level of nurses' knowledge about diabetes is 29.37 (right answer- finding rate: 70%), which is intermediate. 2) Amongst the nurses classified by their knowledge levels about diabetes, the group with less than one year career and that with more than 5 year careers are found to have higher knowledge levels. The item with the highest right answer-finding rate was 'Please find the wrong out of the following examples about foot care'. Meanwhile, the item with highest incorrect answer-finding rate was 'what does blood sugar control aims for amongst gestational diabetes?'. 2. Clinical nurses' importance and perception levels of educational training about diabetes 1) There were no differences amongst nurses' importance level about diabetes. 2) Nurses usually had high scores(4.30) in terms of the items related to the importances about educational training. 3) There were quite high recognitions of general characteristics and symptoms about diabetes, amongst the nurse cohorts working more than one year and less than 5 years, and over 5 years, the group belonging to the internal department, that having the previous experiences of dealing with diabetes, and that having their diabetic relatives and other close people. Meanwhile, strangely, the group who identified themselves as 'not good at treating diabetes' had a high recognition level of educational training about diabetes. 3. Relationship between knowledge levels and importance & perception levels of diabetes 1) The higher knowledge about diabetes nurses had, the more importance they recognized. 2) It is found that there was no relationship between knowledge and perception of diabetes. 3) The more importance about diabetes nurses had, the higher perception they obtained. In conclusion, there is an urgent need for systematic educational programs about diabetes including technical aspects, in order to upgrade and improve nurses knowledge levels. In addition, re-educational training should be provided at regular intervals. Further, we believe the nurses with high knowledge about diabetes and interests in the provision of educations for patients can be far more confident, and in return, patients can have better self-management about diabetes obtained through educations. Based on the above-mentioned findings, we would like to make the suggestion: re-evaluation about nurses' knowledge and cognition levels should be carried out after job training programs about diabetes.

This paper describes about non-burial AVI (Automatic Vehicle Identification) system using general vehicle as probe car for obtaining more accurate traffic information while conserving road pavement surface. Existing spot traffic detectors have their own limits of not obtaining right information owing to its mathematical method. Burial AVI systems have some defects, causing traffic jam, needing much maintenance cost because of frequent cutting of loop and piezo-electric sensors. Especially, they have hard time to make right detection, when it comes to jamming time. Therefore, in this paper, we propose non-burial AVI system with laser trigger unit. Proposed non-burial AVI system is developed to obtain regional traffic information from normal Passing vehicle by automatic license number recognition technology. We have adapted it to national highway section between Suwon city and Pyong$\~$Taek city(9.5km) and get affirmative results. Vehicle detection rate of laser trigger unit is more than 95$\%$, vehicle recognition rate is 87.8$\%$ and vehicle matching rate is about 14.3$\%$. So we regard these as satisfying results to use the system for traffic information service. We evaluate proposed AVI system by regulation of some institutions which are using similar AVI system and the proposed system satisfies all conditions. For future study, we have plan of detailed research about proper lane number from all of the target lanes, optimal section length, information service period, and data fusion method for existing spot detector.
Recognition of the usefulness and the importance of the nursing diagnosis is increasing. There is a prevailing opinion that nursing diagnosis should be used to improve the quality of nursing care. Developing standardized nursing care palns based on nursing diagnoses is therefore considered one of the most essential projects for professional growth and improvement in the nursing world of Korea. Consequently, in the first stage of this research project, the ten nursing diagnses used most frequently with patients on medical and surgical wards were determined and related nursing care plans were developed, implemented and evaluated. The application of the standardized nursing care plans raised the nurses' confidence and proved to be effective in enhancing the quality of nursing care. This study was initiated as the next stage, to develop, test, and determine the validity of nursing care plans for the remaining nursing diagnoses. Nineteen medical and surgical wards were selected for the study ; the 176 staff nurses working on those wards and 1211 patients hospitalized there (603 patients during the nursing care plan use) took part in the project. The following summarizes the results of the study : 1. After listing all the nursing diagnoses up to the 20th in frequency from each ward except the ten used in the first study, 22 nursing diagnoses were selected. Two related to ‘self care deficit’, were combined into one. Standardized nursing care plans were established for these 21 nursing diagnoses. 2. The first page of each nursing care plan lists the related factors and defining characteristics as supporting data. The application rate distribution revealed that the majority were recorded less than 50% of the time. For each nursing diagnosis, only one to three related factors were recorded more than 50% of the time regardless of the number of suggested related factors, and similarly, only one to five defining characteristics were recorded more than 50% of the time regardless of the number of suggested defining characteristics. Therefore, these factors and defining characteristics were proposed as the common related factors and the typical signs and symptoms for each nursing diagnosis. 3. The application rate distribution for the expected outcomes, and the nursing orders that were the main data of each nursing care plan occurred more than 50% of the time, unlike the related factors and the characteristics that occurred less frequently. These findings supported the clinical validity. 4. In an effort to evaluate indirectly the effect of the use of the standardized nursing care plans, nurses' job satisfaction and perceptions of their ability in the use of the nursing process were measured and compared. Scores after the use of the plans were significantly higher than those before. The experience in actually using the standardized nursing care plans with patients increased the nurses' professional and emotional satisfaction and their confidence in using the nursing process. Also when the nurses who actually used the nursing care plans were asked to rate their effectiveness, the highest score was given to ‘the ease of establishing the nursing goal’, followed by ‘improved professional advice and care for patients’, ‘the efficiency and systemization of charting’, ‘the definite recognition of the nursing problem’, and ‘the selection of effective and appropriate nursing interventions’ in descending order. The results indicate the nurses were very positive about the effect of the real clinical application of standardized nursing care plans, and that the objective of this study to utilize the nursing diagnosis to strengthen the nursing process was attained.

In some intersections or busy traffic roads, there are more pedestrians in a specific period of time, and there are many traffic accidents caused by road congestion. Especially at the intersection where there are schools nearby, it is particularly important to protect the traffic safety of students in busy hours. In the past, when designing traffic lights, the safety of pedestrians was seldom taken into account, and the identification of motor vehicles and traffic optimization were mostly studied. How to keep the road smooth as far as possible under the premise of ensuring the safety of pedestrians, especially students, will be the key research direction of this paper. This paper will focus on person, motorcycle, bicycle, car and bus recognition research. Through investigation and comparison, this paper proposes to use YOLO v4 network to identify the location and quantity of objects. YOLO v4 has the characteristics of strong ability of small target recognition, high precision and fast processing speed, and sets the data acquisition object to train and test the image set. Using the statistics of the accuracy rate, error rate and omission rate of the target in the video, the network trained in this paper can accurately and effectively identify persons, motorcycles, bicycles, cars and buses in the moving images.

The recognition for future global environment was studied targeting the university students who will be grown as general public composing our society in this study. The rate recognizing as the complex space of natural objects and artifacts is very low for non-science majored university students. Also, the rate recognizing global environment change from now to the future as negative. The environment recognition should be changed as that the university students can imagine the human live together with the nature in the image of future global environment. The environment education find out and practice the method that human can co-exist together to the direction of co-exist with the nature. Also, the rate internalizing future global environment as the space the human amends for non-science majored university students. This result is interpreted as shown the point of view that the global environment can be improved by the human activity, and it suggests the direction of environment education the university should supply. The environment education direction should be converted from the eduction of environment or the eduction from environment to the education for environment. The opportunity for global environment education should be provided to all university students without the discrimination on the major in the university education course. Sustainable global environment eduction is necessary for our son and daughter live on the earth continuously.

The FCM based hybrid RBF network is a heterogeneous learning network model that applies FCM algorithm between input and middle layer and applies Max_Min algorithm between middle layer and output. The Max-Min neural network uses winner nodes of the middle layer as input but shows inefficient learning in performance when the input vector consists of too many patterns. To overcome this problem, we propose a dynamic learning rate control based on fuzzy logic. The proposed method first classifies accurate/inaccurate class with respect to the difference between target value and output value with threshold and then fuzzy membership function and fuzzy decision logic is designed to control the learning rate dynamically. We apply this proposed RBF network to the character recognition problem and the efficacy of the proposed method is verified in the experiment.
The purpose of this study is to raise the drinking rate of Arisu, the tap water in Seoul, and to propose new solution for continuous water quality management and raising awareness. The research scope was limited to point-of-use water treatment system, and based on the this contents I proceed this study how this will help to increase direct drinking rate of Arisu. Through research, Korea has provided users with the ability to filter contaminated tap water simply as water to be rinsed through water purification. Therefore, it was predicted that it would be difficult to improve tap water as drinking water. With this study, I expect that the strength of point-of-use system and the reliability of tap water quality will be raised and hope various product will be developed to improve the perception as drinking water and I also expect that this can be applied to whole country even further in the scope of Seoul city.
In order to raise a class discrimination power by combining multiple classifiers under the Bayesian decision theory, the upper bound of a Bayes error rate bounded by the conditional entropy of a class variable and decision variables obtained from training data samples should be minimized. Wang and Wong proposed a tree dependence first-order approximation scheme of a high order probability distribution composed of the class and multiple feature pattern variables for minimizing the upper bound of the Bayes error rate. This paper presents an extended high order product approximation scheme dealing with higher order dependency more than the first-order tree dependence, based on the minimization of the upper bound of the Bayes error rate. Multiple recognizers for unconstrained handwritten numerals from CENPARMI were combined by the proposed approximation scheme using the Bayesian formalism, and the high recognition rates were obtained by them.
The purpose of this study is to determine the economical standard for road signs by verifying the difference in driver's legibility time with respect to the spacing of letters on the toad signs. Laboratory simulations were conducted to confirm the difference in legibility time for six target signs of different spacing. Also. a binary logit model was used to find the main factors, which could lower the rate if misreading. This model involves not only a simple enlargement of signs but also a suitable match of letters and signs along with the optimal spacing of the text letters on the road signs to increase the legibility of the sign. The result of this study verified the importance of spacing in road signs and Proved itself to be an effective method to determine the future standard for the road signs.

In this paper, we proposed the method for detecting text region on image using DCT-coefficient and transition-map analysis. The detecting rate of traditional method for detecting text region using DCT-coefficient analysis is high, but false positive detecting rate also is high and the method using transition-map often reject true text region in step of verification because of sticky threshold. To overcome these problems, we generated PTRmap(Promising Text Region map) through DCT-coefficient analysis and applied PTRmap to method for detecting text region using transition map. As the result, the false positive detecting rate decreased as compared with the method using DCT-coefficient analysis, and the detecting rate increased as compared with the method using transition map.
