Mechanical Property, Thermal Conductivity, Rebound Resilience and Thermal Property of Chloro Isobutylene Isoprene Rubber/Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer Blend

  • Chloro isobutylene isoprene rubber (CIIR) and ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) compounded with other formulation chemicals, depending on the polymer blend, were prepared by mechanical mixing. After manufacturing the rubber vulcanizate by compression molding with a hot press, the mechanical and thermal properties including thermal conductivity, rebound resilience of the CIIR/EPDM blends were measured. As the EPDM rubber content increased, hardness and tension set showed a tendency to increase. Pure CIIR exhibited the lowest tensile strength; however, tensile strength increased with loading of EPDM rubber. On the other hand, in CIIR rubber, which is usually a low-rebound elastomer owing to a high damping effect, rebound resilience exhibited an increasing trend as the content of EPDM rubber increased. As the EPDM rubber content increased, thermal stability was improved due to reduction of decomposition rate in the rubber region of the blend vulcanizate.

  • In order to examine correlation between silane coupling agent and activator which affects the physical properties of silica filled natural rubber compound, such as heat buildup, rebound property, dynamic mechanical and morphological properties were measured. With incorporation of silane coupling agent, $tan{\delta}$ at $0^{\circ}C$ was increased and at $60^{\circ}C$ was decreased, which resulted in improving of wet grip and rolling resistance. When silane coupling agent which is corresponding to 8~10% of silica was used, most favorable heat build up and $tan{\delta}$ was obtained. And also when activator was used, dispersibility of silica was improved as a result of reduction of reaggregation of silica.

  • 신발 밑창용 CIIR에 KBR, SSBR 및 XNBR을 다양한 조성으로 혼합하여 블렌드의 인장탄성률, 반발탄성, 저장탄성률, tan${\delta}$, 크리프 특성 변화 등을 검토하였다. 인장 탄성률 측정실험에서 XNBR이 가장 높은 값을 나타내었으며, CIIR이 가장 낮은 탄성률을 나타내었다. 반발탄성은 CIIR < XNBR < SSBR < KBR 순서로 반발탄성이 높아지는 경향을 나타내었으며, SSBR, XNBR, KBR이 CIIR에 혼합됨에 따라 블렌드의 반발탄성은 산술평균적으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 크리프 실험에서 CIIR이 가장 높은 점성변형을 나타내었으며, SSBR과 KBR은 상대적으로 낮은 점성 변형을 나타내었다. CIIR의 경우는 $-30^{\circ}C$ 부근에서 tan${\delta}$ 최대 피크를 나타내었으나, XNBR과 SSBR의 경우 CIIR 보다 높은 온도인 $5^{\circ}C$$0^{\circ}C$ 부근에서 각각 뚜렷한 피크를 나타내었다.

  • 본 논문은 기존 수중 콘크리트 구조물의 강도관리 및 진단기술의 중요성은 날로 증가함에 따라 개발되고 있는 ROV (Remote Control Vehicle)에 탑재될 수 있는 비파괴 검사 장비를 개발하여 콘크리트 내부의 강도측정을 하고자하였다. 수중화된 슈미트해머와 초음파센서를 통하여 수중에 있는 콘크리트 공시체의 반발경도 및 초음파속도를 계측하여 실제 압축강도 값과 비교하였으며 이를 통하여 수중에서의 강도추정식을 도출하였다. 도출된 3가지 식 중에서 반발경도와 초음파속도를 복합적으로 사용하는 복합식이 가장 정확도가 높았으며 이에 따라 실제 수중에서의 콘크리트의 강도를 추정하고자 할 때 활용 가능성도 높아질 것으로 예상된다.

고탄성 특성을 보유한 친환경 우븐 바닥재에 관한 연구(II) - TPU 코팅사 및 바닥재의 특성- (Development of Eco-friendly Woven Floor Mat with High Resilience II - Characterization of TPU Coating Yarn and Floor Mat -)

  • In this study, thermoplastic urethane (TPU) coating yarns were prepared at various extruding temperatures. The fine structure and mechanical properties of resultant TPU coating yarns examined by the wide angle X-ray diffractometer (WAXD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA), and tensile test. TPU coating yarns (prepared at extruding temperatures at $175^{\circ}C$) were confirmed as a stable fine structure that obtained excellent tensile strength and flexibility. The C samples prepared by optimized conditions made by TPU woven floor mat. The structure of the woven mat is $4{\times}4$ basket weave and have laminated with the EVA foam to obtained final TPU woven floor mat products. The resultant TPU woven floor mat was obtained to 1.5MN of tensile strength, 22% of the elongation, and 0.2MN of tear strength. The weight loss abrasion and the resilience by the ball rebound of the TPU-woven floor mat was prior to those of the PVC subsequently, we were able to develop a woven floor mat with TPU coating yarn and produce an eco-friendly high valuable woven floor mat using an interior product.

동일 기반암 지역에서 산지와 곡지 암석의 풍화 특성 비교 (Comparison ofrock weathering propertiesfrom mountain and valley areas of homogeneous bedrock areas)

  • This study estimates relationships between physical and chemical weathering indices of various rock types and topographical relief. Physical weathering properties such as rock strength and joint and chemical weathering indices such as the $SiO_2/Al2O_3$, CIA and WPI were analyzed from 18 rock outcrops in mountain and valley areas consisting of 9 rock types. The results indicate that the elevation and relief of topography increase physical strength of rock increases. It can be suggested that the total r(rock-mass strength rating) and R(rock rebound strength by Schmidt Hammer) are most useful indices as a quantitative weathering property factor to explain formative causes of topographical relief. The results also suggest that rock types such as sandstone, granite, gneiss and schist are most suitable to explain meaningful difference in topographical relief with the physical and chemical weathering indices.

소음 차단 성능 향상을 위한 부틸 탄성체 배합 및 진동제어 시스템 디자인 연구 (Study on the Design of Butyl Rubber Compound and Noise Reduction System for Sound Insulation)

  • 최근 공동주택의 층간 소음으로 인하여 사회적 문제가 크게 대두되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소음 차단 성능을 향상시키기 위해 바닥 진동 제어 시스템에 적용되어질 방진고무를 제조하였다. 다양한 유형의 고무 중 우수한 노화특성, 낮은 반발탄성 및 높은 댐핑특성의 성질은 갖는 부틸 고무를 방진고무의 원료 고무로 선정하였다. 그리고 부틸 컴파운드에 첨가되는 카본블랙의 유형과 함량에 따른 방진고무의 물성을 확인하였다. 표면적이 큰 카본블랙을 사용하거나 함량이 증가할수록 고무와 카본블랙간의 결합고무의 함량이 증가하여 높은 기계적 물성, 낮은 반발탄성과 높은 댐핑특성을 나타내었다. 연구 결과를 토대로 최적의 카본블랙 종류와 함량을 결정하고 방진고무를 제조한 뒤 바닥진동제어 시스템에 적용하였다. 바닥충격음을 측정한 결과 경량충격음 40 dB, 중량충격음 43 dB을 나타내어 소음차단 성능이 우수한 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • Natural rubber was filled with 8 commercial carbon blacks covering range of rubber-grade products at different levels of filler loadings in order to investigate physical compound and vulcanizate properties. It was found that the curves of rubber property vs filler loading of both uncured compounds and vulcanizates can be superposed to one single master curve by introducing an effective volume fraction which is based on CDBP. The effective volume fraction, $V_{EFF}$ was utilized to explain the variation of the stiffness of all rubber compounds. The surface area-corrected effective volume fraction, V', was utilized to explain the formation of bound rubber, rebound and lambourn wear.

  • The purpose of the work is to improve comfort of a car seat, especially dynamic comfort which affects driver's discomfort during the long time driving. Definition of dynamic comfort was made before the investigation of which parameter affects seat comfort. In order to optimize design parameters so as to maximize seat comfort as well as to know the cause of discomfort, benchmarking on a target vehicle and competitive vehicles was performed, which showed both the vibration transmission characteristics and the compression set due to dynamic loading should be reduced. As a solution ball rebounds was increased by about 10% of the original foam, which showed reduction of S.E.A.T. value by 10% and of compression set by 60%.

실리카가 도핑된 카본블랙을 함유한 고무조성물의 물성에 관한 연구 (The Study on Physical Properties of Rubber Compounds with Silica Doped Carbon Black)

  • The purpose of this experiments were investigated on the physical properties of rubber com-pounds containing two types carbon black. Bound rubber and interaction coefficient for com-pounds with pure carbon black were higher than those for the compounds with dual phase carbon black. Slightly higher values in 300% modulus and tensile strength indicated that the ratio of rubber-filler bound to rubber-rubber bound of pure carbon black were higher than those of com-pounds with dual phase carbon black. It was founded that dynamic properties, that is rebound, heat build-up, 0 & $60^{\circ}C$ tan $\delta$, and cut and chip loss of compounds with dual phase carbon black were better than those of compounds with pure carbon black, but abrasion property of dual phase carbon black was lower than those of pure carbon black because of low reinforcing ability.
