Activation Enthalpies for Plastic Deformation

  • Activation energies for plastic deformation calculated from traditional phenomenological equations have been criticized frequently since the values are different by authors, and also by experimental conditions. The reasons of different activation enthalpies are clarified in this study. Our method for calculating activation enthalpies based on the authors' theory of plastic deformation was presented and discussed. The method was applied to various cases of alloys, the calculated activation enthalpies are listed and compared with the activation energies obtained by the traditional methods in order to show the reasonableness of our method. The physical meaning of the activation enthalpies which we found was clarified.

  • 본 연구는 사회복지생활시설에서 사회복지사가 인지한 사회복지생활시설의 집단문화, 개발문화, 위계문화, 합리문화 등 조직문화의 유형에 따라 사회복지사의 개인 업무지향, 업무관계성, 보상제도 등 역량강화에 유의한 차이를 발견할 수 있는지 분석하였다. 실증연구의 조사대상은 대구 경북지역의 사회복지생활시설에서 근무하는 사회복지사이며 연구조사방법은 설문조사를 사용하였다. 사회복지사가 인지하는 문화유형은 Kimberly and Quinn(1984)의 분류에 따라 집단문화, 개발문화, 위계문화, 합리문화로 구분하였으며, 이에 영향을 받는 역량강화변수는 개인 업무지향, 업무관계성, 보상제도 등으로 분류하였다. 본 연구에서는 조직 문화의 유형에 따라 개인 업무지향, 업무관계성, 보상제도 등에 유의적인 차이가 있음을 발견하였다.

  • If aggrieving consumers or employees cannot prove both substantive and procedural unconscionability, many U.S. state courts will enforce arbitration agreements. Additionally, U.S. courts weigh a variety of factors to determine whether an arbitration agreement is substantively unconscionable. For example, U.S. courts have considered one or a combination of the following factors: (1) the fairness of contractual terms; (2) the severity of contractual terms' deviation from prevailing standards, customs, or practices within a particular industry; (3) the reasonableness of goods-and-services contract prices; (4) the commercial reasonableness of the contract terms; (5) the purpose and effect of the terms and (6) "the allocation of risks between the parties." Further, procedural unconscionability characterized by surprise or lack of knowledge focuses on terms that are deceptively hidden in a mass of contract language, the object of another concealment, or imposed in the circumstances involving haste or high-pressure tactics so that they are not likely to be read or understood. This unconscionability doctrine can be applied to a situation where an alcoholic dementia-afflicted older adult is admitted to a nursing home. At that time, because she had alcoholic dementia, which precluded her reading, comprehending, writing, negotiating, or signing of any legal document, her son, who did not understand the adhesion contract, signed the standardized residential contract and the arbitration agreement.

신경회로망을 이용한 산업용 로봇의 역보정에 관한연구 (A Study on the Inverse Calibration of Industrial Robot Using Neural Networks)

  • This paper proposes the robot inverse calibration method using a neural networks. A highorder networks called Pi-Sigma networks has been used. The Pi-Sigma networks uses linear summing units in the hidden layer and product unit in output layer. The inverse calibration model which compensates the difference of joint variables only between measuring value and analytic value about the desired pose(position orientation) of a robot is proposed. The compensated values are determined by using the weights obtained from the learning process of the neural networks previously. To prove the reasonableness the SCARA type direct drive robot(4-DOF) and anthropomorphic robot(6-DOF) are simulated. It shows that the proposed calibration method can reduce the errors of the joint variables from $\pm$3 to $\pm$0.1.

  • In this study, genetic algorithm mixed binary and real encoding is proposed to deal with design variables of various types. And that is applied to optimum design of Multi-stage gear drive. Design of pressure vessel which is mixed discrete and continuous variables is applied to verify reasonableness of proposed genetic algorithm. The proposed genetic algorithm is applied for the gear ratio optimization and the volume minimization of geared motor which is used in field. In result, it shows that the volume has decreased about 8% compared with the existing geared motor.

초등학교 6학년 학생의 수감각 실태 조사 (A Survey on Number Sense Performance of Sixth Graders)

  • The primary purpose of this study was to investigate how number sense performance of sixth graders was and what every character of five components of number sense possessed by sixth graders was. For the this purpose, Two kinds of studies were conducted : a descriptive study by pencil-and-paper tests(Basic Test, Number Sense Test) and a clinical study by interviews. The conclusions drawn from the results obtained in the this study were as follows : First, students were highly scored in Basic Test but not highly scored equally in Number Sense Test. Second, students hardly used the benchmarks and lacked consideration of the reasonableness about computation results. Interview results were that students' notion about the meaning, and the greater - than and less - than relations for fractions was weak and students tended to not use number sense but apply standard algorithm and compute numbers in the question without thinking.

FINANCIAL MODELS INDUCED FROM AUXILIARY INDICES AND TWITTER DATA

  • As we know, some indices and data are strong influence to the price movement of some assets now, but not to another assets and in future. Thus we define some asset models for several time intervals; intraday, weekly, monthly, and yearly asset models. We define these asset models by using Brownian motion with volatility and Poisson process, and several deterministic functions(index function, twitter data function and big-jump simple function etc). In our asset models, these deterministic functions are the positive or negative levels of auxiliary indices, of analyzed data, and for imminent and extreme state(for example, financial shock or the highest popularity in the market). These functions determined by indices, twitter data and shocking news are a kind of one of speciality of our asset models. For reasonableness of our asset models, we introduce several real data, figurers and tables, and simulations. Perhaps from our asset models, for short-term or long-term investment, we can classify and reference many kinds of usual auxiliary indices, information and data.

Modeling of shunt active power filter using PSCAD/EMTDC

  • In this paper, a shunt active power filter (SAPF) has been used to eliminate the harmonic distortion and to improve the power quality of three-phase grid-connected power conditioning system (PCS). The adopted control strategy in active power filter system is based on the instantaneous reactive power theory (P-Q theory). Based on the theoretical analysis, the overall system of three-phase grid-connected with non-linear load PCS has been built and modeled using PSCAD$^{(R)}$/EMTDC$^{TM}$. The simulation results are shown to verify the high effective performance of the implemented SAPF in power system and to verify the reasonableness of the system structure.

  • UCP 600 Article 14(b), providing rules for the period of the examination of documents, is a radical reorganization of UCP Article 13(b). The provision changes the period of time to a maximum of five banking days instead of reasonable time. One of the critical problems giving rise to the difficulty in interpretation and application is the question of fact that there may be two possible conflicting options in determining the time of checking documents presented. The one doctrine is fixed time(safe harbor) standard, and the other is hidden reasonableness standard. This study analyzes which option should be adopted for the optimal application standard by welfare effect methodology using consumer surplus approach and suggests that safe harbor standard should be optimal solution to the determination of period of examination of documents presented in letter of credit regime.

국제투자분쟁에서 중재사례를 통해 본 공정.공평대우의 기준 (The Fair and Equitable Treatment Standards through the Arbitral Award Cases under International Investment Disputes)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the standard of fair and equitable treatment. Although most international investment treaties prescribe fair and equitable treatment that is the obligation to provide fair and equitable treatment to foreign investor, there is no clear definition and specific elements of fair and equitable treatment. Through the arbitral award cases we can find that tribunals have interpreted to include six principles; Due process & Protection from denial of justice, Good faith, Reasonableness & Nondiscrimination, Compliance with contractual obligation, Full protection and security, Transparency & Protection of the investor's legitimate expectations. This study suggest that host countries and investors focus on international trends concerning investment disputes in order to avoid future disputes. So future disputes can be prevented and prepared in advance.
