경성 실시간 동작을 보장하는 움직임 추정 알고리즘 (Motion Estimation Algorithm to Guarantee Hard Realtime Operation)

  • 본 논문에서는 움직임 추정기의 하드웨어 자원이 유한하게 주어졌을 때, 동작 중에 적응적으로 작업량을 제어함으로서 주어진 경성 실시간 동작 조건 내에서 최적의 성능을 얻는 움직임 추정 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 움직임 추정 기법은 작업량과 탐색 단계를 적응적으로 결정함으로서 경성 실시간 동작을 보장하는 범위 내에서 최대한의 탐색을 수행할 수 있다. 이 기법은 하드웨어 크기를 기존 기법의 1/4~1/400까지 줄이면서도 PSNR 저하는 0.02~0.44 dB에 불과하며, 하드웨어의 사용 효율도 기존 기법의 3.7~21.5배에 달하였다. 이 기법은 기존의 고속 탐색 기법에 쉽게 적용이 가능하므로 실시간 처리가 가능한 인코더 칩을 설계하는데 유용하다.

  • We implement Realtime Air Diffusion Prediction System which is designed for air diffusion simulations with four-dimensional data assimilation. For realtime running, we parallelize the system using MPI (Message Passing Interface) on distributed-memory parallel computers and build a cluster computer which links high-performance PCs with high-speed interconnection networks.   • The challenge is to control unstable nonlinear dynamic systems using only sparse feedback from the environment concerning its performance. The design of such controllers can be achieved by evolving neural networks. An evolutionary approach to train neural networks in realtime is proposed. Evolutionary strategies adapt the weights of neural networks and the threshold values of neuron's synapses. The proposed method has been successfully implemented for pole balancing problem.

  • In this paper, the performance of Mini MAP architecture in realtime application is analyzed by analytic methods. The approximate equations for token rotation time and waiting time are obtained and using these equations network. performance is evaluated. According to the results obtained, Mini MAP architecture has good realtime performance and can be used to many real time applications.

  • This paper describes realtime visual tracking system of moving object for three dimensional target using EKF(Extended Kalman Filter). We present a new realtime visual tracking using EKF algorithm and image prediction algorithm. We demonstrate the performance of these tracking algorithm through real experiment. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the EKF algorithm and image prediction algorithm for realtime tracking and estimated state value of filter, predicting the position of moving object to minimize an image processing area, and by reducing the effect by quantization noise of image.

  • Recently, virtual reality technologies have been rapidly developed and realtime virtual simulation methods have been extensively employed for several application areas such as game, sports, manufacturing, military, and so on. A 3D database in realtime virtual simulation plays a key role because it makes users feel reality in virtual space. In a application view of 3D database, a systematic construction approach is required to reduce its construction time and increase its quality. However, many researches have been mostly focused on realtime graphic issues and its key technologies. In virtual simulation of transportation equipments, this paper proposes a systematic construction process of 3D database consisting of four stages as follows: 1) determine the activity space of a equipment, 2) collect data related to 3D database construction, 3) make a 3-dimensional modeling strategy, and 4) generate and evaluate a 3D model. This paper also introduces a new procedure of 3D environment modeling, which summarizes and expands our modeling experiences, to be used as a modeling guide.

  • In this paper, we propose a method by which QP (Quadratic Programming) problems can be solved in realtime so that we can implement the predictive control algorithm on a microcontroller system. Firstly, we derive a solution to QP problems by converting the original QP problems to its equivalent least squares with inequalities. Secondly, we propose a predictive control algorithm that can give good realtime computation performance by utilizing the fact that some parameters needed for solving QP problems can be computed offline. Finally, we illustrate that the proposed method can give good realtime features by running the C-code application constructed using the proposed method on a microncontroller system.

  • Researchers have utilized artificial evolution techniques and learning techniques for studying the interactions between learning and evolution. Adaptation in dynamic environments gains a significant advantage by combining evolution and learning. We propose an on-line, realtime evolutionary learning mechanism to determine the structure and the synaptic weights of a neural network controller for mobile robot navigations. We support our method, based on (1+1) evolutionary strategy which produces changes during the lifetime of an individual to increase the adaptability of the individual itself, with a set of experiments on evolutionary neural controller for physical robots behaviors. We investigate the effects of learning in evolutionary process by comparing the performance of the proposed realtime evolutionary learning method with that of evolutionary method only. Also, we investigate an interactive evolutionary algorithm to overcome the difficulties in evaluating complicated tasks.

  • 본 연구에서는 cdma2000기술에 기반한 IMT-2000에서 CDMA MAC을 이용한 실시간 데이터 및 비실시간 데이타를 효율적으로 전송할 수 잇는 다중 엑세스 기법을 제안한다. 이 방식은 깆노의 회선형 방식과 달리 패킷형 서비스를 지원하다. 실시간 데이타의 가변 전송률에 근거한 대역의 통계적 다중화 기법을 통하여 가임자 용량을 극대화하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 전송 지연고 채널 이용률 등의 성능을 회선형 방식과 비교한다.
