A Study on Real Time Control of Moving Stuff Action Through Iterative Learning for Mobile-Manipulator System

  • This study proposes a new approach to control Moving Stuff Action Through Iterative Learning robot with dual arm for smart factory. When robot moves object with dual arm, not only position of each hand but also contact force at surface of an object should be considered. However, it is not easy to determine every parameters for planning trajectory of the an object and grasping object concerning about variety compliant environment. On the other hand, human knows how to move an object gracefully by using eyes and feel of hands which means that robot could learn position and force from human demonstration so that robot can use learned task at variety case. This paper suggest a way how to learn dynamic equation which concern about both of position and path.

Real-Time Neural Network for Information Propagation of Model Objects in Remote Position (원격지 모형 물체에 대한 정보 전송을 위한 실시간 신경망)

  • For real-time recognizing of model objects in remote position a new Neural Networks algorithm is proposed. The proposed neural networks technique is the real time computation methods through the inter-node diffusion. In the networks, a node corresponds to a state in the quantized input space. Each node is composed of a processing unit and fixed weights from its neighbor nodes as well as its input terminal. The most reliable algorithm derived for real time recognition of objects, is a dynamic programming based algorithm based on sequence matching techniques that would process the data as it arrives and could therefore provide continuously updated neighbor information estimates. Through several simulation experiments, real time reconstruction of the nonlinear image information is processed. 1-D LIPN hardware has been composed and various experiments with static and dynamic signals have been implemented.

  • This paper proposes a method utilizing Differential Global Position System (DGPS) with Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and pre-built Geo-graphic Information System (GIS) to detect lane departure of a vehicle. The position of a vehicle measured by DGPS with RTK has 18 cm-level accuracy. The preconditioned GIS data giving accurate position information of the traffic lanes is used to set up coordinate system and to enable fast calculation of the relative position of the vehicle within the traffic lanes. This relative position can be used for safe driving by preventing the vehicle from departing lane carelessly. The proposed system can be a key component in functions such as vehicle guidance, driver alert and assistance, and the smart highway that eventually enables autonomous driving supporting system. Experimental results show the ability of the system to meet the accuracy and robustness to detect lane departure of a vehicle at high speed.

  • Lots of researches and applications on the automated overhead cranes in shops have been done for some decades, but a few successful results are reported. Integrated crane control systems designed by famous engineering companies are still expensive and are not satisfactory in view of maintenance and reliability. A more reasonable control system fit to requirements of manufacturing industries is suggested in the study. The new deigned system has superior capabilities for anti-sway of rope and position control. The controller for automated operations is composed of a Linux-based PC for non real-time control and a high-speed PLC for hard real-time control. Some algorithms required for coil yard operations as well as main control algorithms such as reference position generation, position control and anti-sway control have been designed and fully tested on the new crane simulator. The designed crane control system showed satisfactory performance on position control accuracy and anti-sway of rope. The maximum positional error is 8mm and the maximum sway error is 0.1 degrees. The suggested control strategies have been successfully applied to the 10-1 crane in No. 4 CGL of in the Kwangyang Steel Works and in commercial operation.

  • There has been considerable activity in recent years in developing timing analysis algorithms for distributed real-time control systems. However, it is difficult for control engineers to analyze the timing behavior of distributed real-time control systems because the algorithms was developed in a software engineer's position and the calculation of the algorithm is very complex. Therefore, there is a need to develop a timing analysis tool, which can handle the calculation complexity of the timing analysis algorithms in order to help control engineers easily analyze or develop the distributed real-time control systems. In this paper, an interactive timing analysis tool, called RAT (Response-time Analysis Tool), is introduced. RAT can perform the schedulability analysis for development of distributed real-time control systems. The schedulability analysis can verify whether all real-time tasks and messages in a system will be completed by their deadlines in the system design phase. Furthermore, from the viewpoint of end-to-end scheduling, RAT can perform the schedulability analysis for series of tasks and messages in a precedence relationship.

  • This paper describes a new 14-CPU real-time distributed automatic gauge control (AGC) system for POSCO's No. 2 Hot Strip Mill at Pohang Works. The new AGC system has adopted gaugemeter AGC, Monitor AGC, and roll gap disturbance compensators. The computer system for the new AGC system has been developed based on VMEbus computer systems and a commercial real-time operating system. A VMEbus computer system is also used for the position servo control of hydraulic cylinders. All the application programs and input/output signals have been reasonably distributed over the control computer systems for the maximum reliability and effectiveness of the system. The new AGC system has been successfully used for the No. 2 Hot Strip Mill.

  • This paper deals with an implementation of the navigation parameter extraction technique using the TMS320C80 multimedia video processor (MVP). Especially, this Paper focuses on the relative position estimation algorithm which plays an important role in real-time operation of the overall system. Based on the relative position estimation algorithm using the images obtained at two locations, we develop a fast algorithm that can reduce large amount of computation time and fit into fixed-point processors. Then, the algorithm is reconfigured for parallel processing using the 4 parallel processors in the MVP. As a result, we shall demonstrate that the navigation parameter extraction system employing the MVP can operate at full-frame rate, satisfying real-time requirement of the overall system.

  • Visual effects are important cues for providing occupant s with virtual reality in a vehicle simulator which imitates real driving. The viewpoint of an occupant is sensitively dependent upon the occupant´s posture, therefore, the total body motion must be considered in a graphic simulator. A real time simulation is required for the dynamic analysis of complex human body motion. This study attempts to apply a neural network to the motion analysis in various driving situations. A full car of medium-sized vehicles was selected and modeled, and then analyzed using ADAMS in such driving conditions as bump-pass and acceleration. A multibody system analysis software, MADYMO, was used in the motion analysis of an adult male dummy in the seated position.   • This study is devoted to the detection of the 3-dimensional point obstacles on the plane by using accumulated scan line images. The proposed accumulating only one scan line allow to process image at real time. And the change of motion of the feature in image is small because of the short time between image frames, so it does not take much time to track features. To obtain recursive optimal obstacles position and robot motion along to the motion of camera, Kalman filter algorithm is used. After using Kalman filter in case of the fixed environment, 3-dimensional obstacles point map is obtained. The position and motion of moving obstacles can also be obtained by pre-segmentation. Finally, to solve the stereo ambiguity problem from multiple matches, the camera motion is actively used to discard mis-matched features. To get relative distance of obstacles from camera, parallel stereo camera setup is used. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, experiments are carried out by a small test vehicle.

  • Nowadays, CPS is used widely, especially in cases which need more precise position information, such as car navigation systems and even in the mobile robot for position measuring in the outdoor environment. RTK (Real-Time Kinematics) and DGPS (Differential Global Positioning System) have more precise accuracy than the general-purposed GPS. However can't easily use them because of high prices and large size of equipments. In order fur the mobile robot to obtain precise position information it is important that CPS receiver has portability and low price. In this study, we introduce a new GPS data acquisition system that offers the precise position data using the DGPS mechanism and satisfying low cost and portability. In addition to this, we propose an improved data compensation algorithm that offers more accurate position information to the outdoor mobile robot by compensating the error rate of CPS data measured from the three points with geometrical rotation and distance formula. Proposed method is verified by comparing with the precise real position data obtained by RTK. Proposed method has more than 70% performance enhancement.
