Classification of Query E-Mail Using Neural Network (신경망을 이용한 사용자 질의 전자 메일 분류)

  • More and more users are using the query e-mail according to the increment of use of internet. The operator of internet site desires the users to check the FAQ and Q&A contents first before sending the query e-mail to the operator However the users try to get the solution for a problem easily by simply sending a query e-mail. Therefore the increment of query e-mail is inevitable, and the site operator is suffering from too heavy loads and spending too much time and cost to reply the query e-mail. In this paper, we are proposing an efficient method of classifying the query e-mail of users automatically by using a neural network. To verify the reasonability of our work, the query e-mails of KORNET are used as the test data, which is actually gathered in KT. A total of 210 learning data and 280 test data were used to test the performance of the proposed approach. From the experiments we got the encouraging result from the view point of application in real life. The proposed approach satisfied the request of users who wanted rapid response for their query e-mail.

  • Recently, wireless technology gains attention for industrial networks due to low cost, flexibility, relatively easy installation and most importantly, solving the rouring issue. ISA100.11a is one of promising standard for wireless industrial networks (WINs). Data traffic in industrial networks are known to be periodic and must satisfy the real-time property namely deadline. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed to apply deadline monotonic scheduling to periodic tasks in ISA100.11a networks and to evaluate the performance of ISA100.11a by checking the schedulability and beacon frame overhead. Simulation results showns, that our proposed scheme can reduces the network overhead while maintaining schedulability as compared to the previous algorithm. In addition, by reducing the network overhead, our proposed scheme can send more data without degrading the overall performance of WINs.

A Mathematical Approach to Allocate the Contributions by Applying UPFCs to Transmission System Usage

  • Competitive electricity markets necessitate equitable methods for allocating transmission usage in order to set transmission usage charges and congestion charges in an unbiased and an open-accessed basis. So in competitive markets it is usually necessary to trace the contribution of each participant to line usage, congestion charges and transmission losses, and then to calculate charges based on these contributions. A UPFC offers flexible power system control, and has the powerful advantage of providing, simultaneously and independently, real-time control of voltage, impedance and phase angle, which are the basic power system parameters on which sys-tem performance depends. Therefore, UPFC can be used efficiently and flexibly to optimize line utilization and increase system capability and to enhance transmission stability and dampen system oscillations. In this paper, a mathematical approach to allocate the contributions of system users and UPFCs to transmission system usage is presented. The paper uses a dc-based load flow modeling of UPFC-inserted transmission lines in which the injection model of the UPFC is used. The relationships presented in the paper showed modified distribution factors that modeled impact of utilizing UPFCs on line flows and system usage. The derived relationships show how bus voltage angles are attributed to each of changes in generation, injections of UPFC, and changes in admittance matrix caused by inserting UPFCs in lines. The relationships derived are applied to two test systems. The results illustrate how transmission usage would be affected when UPFC is utilized. The relationships derived can be adopted for the purpose of allocating usage and payments to users of transmission network and owners of UPFCs used in the network. The relationships can be modified or extended for other control devices.

  • The importance of online communication is getting increased by the rapid growth of smartphone supply and Social Network Service (SNS) use. Catching up with the trend, firms are actively use SNS to improve brand image, promote products, and communicate with customer. On the one hand, SNS is the channel for firms' marketing activities, but on the other, it is also the channel where the events related to the firms propagate in real time. Firms are led to unexpected state of crisis, when events are quickly spread out on SNS. Then firms are assessed their image by the way they deal with the state of crisis. This paper proposes to figure out user response on SNS according to each crisis response strategies by analyzing event-related twitter data when crisis situations of firms arise. We classify crisis response strategies into response attitude, defensive and accommodative response, and response speed, fast and slow response. This paper suggests optimal crisis response strategy to firms regarding state of crisis propagated on SNS.

  • Recently, as a part of NGIS project, cultural-assets digital map is produced by cultural properties administration and local autonomous entities. Cultural-assets unified GIS(Geographic Information System) is essential to cultural properties managers and other organizations which are executing land related business for appling it at planning stage. With explosive national land developments, it has been obligated to implement surface survey by the cultural properties protection Art. In this paper, we develope a MSSS(Mobile Surface Survey System) and central GIS management system using CDMA wireless network, real time DGPS and C/S GIS technologies. And we suggest a construction-plan of cultural-assets digital map drawing and managing system by Archaeologist using developed system by this study.

  • In this paper, we propose a new moving mobile base station (MMBS) scheme for very low power and micro-size RMIMS (radio-interfaced micro information monitoring system) terminals. RMIMS terminals can be used in various application service areas such as pollution monitoring, environment surveillance, traffic monitoring, emergency monitoring (e.g., building, bridge, railroad breakdown), security monitoring (e.g., theft, alarm) and military application. For these applications based on wireless transmission technologies, sensor type RMIMS terminals must satisfy low cost and low power design (e.g., solar power, life limited battery) requirement. In RMIMS terminal design, this low power requirement limits transmission range of uplink or reverse link and means small cell size. Also these applications using RMIMS terminals may have a little bit non real-time traffic characteristic and low scattering density in service area.

  • In the field of network sense for the Ubiquitous environment, the technology of RFID is a significant part. Due to the real time processing of information and the property of network, RFID has been used in service field such as distribution, administrative control of physical distribution, remote measuring device, and security, instead of currently used bar-code. The management system of port facilities using the current RFID technology has the effects of reducing working hours and improvement in data processing, but it is not proper for human resource allocation since it is dominantly worked for physical resources. In this paper, we designed and implemented personnel control system using RFID of 2.4GHz in port facilities which presents a monitoring system for safety operation and increase of efficiency using RFID in order to overcome the limitations and problems of current port operation management techniques.

Efficient Management of Tunnel Construction Informations using ITIS(Intelligent Tunnelling Information System) (ITIS를 활용한 효율적인 터널 정보화 시공 관리)

  • ITIS is applied to the several tunnel construction sites in Korea. Tunnel construction properties which are acquired from these sites are transferred to information management server(SQL 2000 server)by client application program in real time. Access permission to DB server depends on the user's roles. Some functions which cannot be embodied in SQL Server are serviced through XML and GMS server is used for spatial data based on GIS part. This system is supposed to give engineers the advantages which are not only easy handling of the program and computerized documentation on every information during construction but also analyzing the acquired data in order to predict the structure of ground and rock mass to be excavated later and show the guideline of construction. Neung-Dong tunnel and Mu-Gua express way tunnel are now under construction and with this system they have 3D visualized map of the geology and tunnel geometry and accumulate database of construction information such as tunnel face mapping results, special notes and pictures of construction and 3D monitoring data, all matters on the stability of rock bolts and shotcrete, and so on. Ground settlement prediction program included in ITIS, based on the artificial neural network(ANN) and supported by GIS technology is applying to the subway tunnel. This prediction tool can make it possible to visualize the ground settlement according to the excavation procedures by contouring the calculated result on 3D GIS map and to assess the damage of buildings in the vicinity of construction site caused by ground settlement.

Flexible, Extensible, and Efficient VANET Authentication

  • Although much research has been conducted in the area of authentication in wireless networks, vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) pose unique challenges, such as real-time constraints, processing limitations, memory constraints, frequently changing senders, requirements for interoperability with existing standards, extensibility and flexibility for future requirements, etc. No currently proposed technique addresses all of the requirements for message and entity authentication in VANETs. After analyzing the requirements for viable VANET message authentication, we propose a modified version of TESLA, TESLA++, which provides the same computationally efficient broadcast authentication as TESLA with reduced memory requirements. To address the range of needs within VANETs we propose a new hybrid authentication mechanism, VANET authentication using signatures and TESLA++ (VAST), that combines the advantages of ECDSA signatures and TESLA++. Elliptic curve digital signature algorithm (ECDSA) signatures provide fast authentication and non-repudiation, but are computationally expensive. TESLA++ prevents memory and computation-based denial of service attacks. We analyze the security of our mechanism and simulate VAST in realistic highway conditions under varying network and vehicular traffic scenarios. Simulation results show that VAST outperforms either signatures or TESLA on its own. Even under heavy loads VAST is able to authenticate 100% of the received messages within 107ms. VANETs use certificates to achieve entity authentication (i.e., validate senders). To reduce certificate bandwidth usage, we use Hu et al.'s strategy of broadcasting certificates at fixed intervals, independent of the arrival of new entities. We propose a new certificate verification strategy that prevents denial of service attacks while requiring zero additional sender overhead. Our analysis shows that these solutions introduce a small delay, but still allow drivers in a worst case scenario over 3 seconds to respond to a dangerous situation.

  • The targets for the traditional IT management solutions has been mostly systems (server) and networks. Such that management system for system and network, SMS and NMS respectively, used be the IT management solutions. Now the speed of hardware improvement is faster than ever, the performance improvement scope is shifting from hardware towards software. Therefore, it is not arguable that the business success depends on the efficient and optimized application performance management. There are many different approaches are developed in the application performance management, but in this study, API-based logging system that most efficiently visualizes the correlation of call and response between Components and enables active performance management for monitoring real-time applications operation status and resolving the problems and failures quickly.
