  • In this paper, we have proposed a new approach to the design of robot vision system to develop the technology for the automatic test and assembling of precision mechanical and electronic parts for the factory automation. In order to perform real time implementation of the automatic assembling tasks in the complex processes, we have developed an intelligent control algorithm based-on neural networks control theory to enhance the precise motion control. Implementing of the automatic test tasks has been performed by the real-time vision algorithm based-on TMS320C31 DSPs. It distinguishes correctly the difference between the acceptable and unacceptable defective item through pattern recognition of parts by the developed vision algorithm. Finally, the performance of proposed robot vision system has been illustrated by experiment for the similar model of fifth cell among the twelve cell for automatic test and assembling in S company.

A Joystick Driving Control Algorithm with a Longitudinal Collision Avoidance Scheme for an Electric Vehicle

  • In this paper, we develop a joystick manual driving algorithm for an electric vehicle called Cycab. Cycab is developed as a public transportation vehicle, which can be driven either by a manual joystick or an automated driving mode. The vehicle uses six motors for driving four wheels, and front/rear steerings. Cycab utilizes one industrial PC with a real time Linux kernel and four Motorola MPC555 micro controllers, and a CAN network for the communication among the five processors. The developed algorithm consists of two automatic vehicle speed control algorithms for normal and emergency situations that override the driver's joystick command and an open loop torque distribution algorithm for the traction motors. In this study, the algorithm is developed using SynDEx, which is a system level CAD software dedicated to rapid prototyping and optimizing the implementation of real-time embedded applications on distributed architectures. The experimental results verify the usefulness of the two automatic vehicle control algorithms.

  • Security of the electronic commercial transaction especially through the information communication network is gaining its significance due to rapid development of information and communication related fields. For that, some kind of cryptographic algorithm is already in use for the smart card. However, the growing needs of handling multimedia and real time communication bring the smart card into more stringent use of its resources. Therefore, we proposed a key scheduler block of the smart card to facilitate multimedia communication and real time communication.

  • This paper is described about the on-line, real-time quality information management system as the infrastructure of CIM, which we developed for the full automatic washing machine assembly line. This System is composed of Ethernet LAN, RS-485 Network, POP terminal, BAR CODE Scanner, PLC, ROBOT, measuring equipments and real-time processing software. We will run this system from next month regularly.

  • Through the development of phasor measurement units (PMU), various aspects of power system dynamic behavior could be monitored and diagnosed. Monitoring dynamic voltage stability has become one of the achievements we can obtain from PMUs. It is very important to select the most appropriate method for the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) system since there are many voltage stability indices. In this paper, we propose an advanced WAVI (Wide Area Voltage Stability) that is well suited for the purposes of monitoring the dynamic voltage stability of KEPCO's PMU installation plan. The salient features of the proposed index are: i) it uses only PMU measurements without coupling with EMS data; ii) it is computationally unburdened and can be applied to real-time situations. The proposed index is applied to the KEPCO test system and the results show that it successfully predicts voltage instability through comparative studies.

  • For detecting of the faulty insulator, Correlation Propagation Neural Networks(CPNN) has been proposed. Faulty insulator is reduced the rate of insulation extremely, and taken the results dirty and injured. It is necessary to detect the faulty insulator and exchange the new one. And thus, we have designed the CPNN to be detected that insulators by the real time computation method through the inter-node diffusion. In the network, a node corresponds to a state in the quantized input space. Each node is composed of a processing unit and fixed weights from its neighbor nodes as well as its input terminal. Information propagates among neighbor nodes laterally and inter-node interpolation is achieved. 1-D CPNN hardware has been implemented with general purpose. Experiments with static and dynamic signals have been done upon the CPNN hardware. Through the results of simulation experiments, we define the ability of real-time detecting the faulty insulators.

  • DAS(Distribution Automation System) is equipped with several software applications such as service restoration, loss minimization, and protective relay coordination. The software applications of DAS are very sensitive to the amount of section load being carried by a particular section of distribution lines. Moreover, each software application requires a different parameter of the section load according to its purpose. Therefore, This paper proposes a new section load management method using real-time measurement data of the distribution lines. In order to provide accurate data to DAS applications, this method considers section loads in terms of the relationship of power versus time. In order to establish that the proposed method is feasible, a performance-testing simulator was developed, and case studies were conducted for a modified real distribution network.

  • In the distance education system existing, change of content by the content provider has not been performed in real time. But current car model is changed quickly. So it must modifying by contents provider in real-time. In this paper, we implement contents authoring system for modifying E-training contents easily. Especially, it use HTML5 technology. Through it, contents providers can modifying contents in various platforms easily.

  • In this paper, we propose an effective web service software platform for remote monitoring and control. In order to propose a system configuration that can check the object information on the web in real time to improve the performance of the web service, the object information reception module and the web viewer system are configured. As IoT devices grow, the environment becomes too complicated to identify and control the status of many devices. We have proposed that these problems be easily controlled in a web-based environment and current status information can be viewed in real time.

  • The risk mitigation service based on network provides monitoring of the risk event data to be inputted and analyses its big data to be stored in real time. Furthermore, it performs the analysis of the plant disease risk such as a red tide, and livestock disease risk such a food-and-mouth disease, avian influenza, and rinderpest, and provides the mitigation service. The application model for risk mitigation is the real time acquisition monitoring of risk events, and mitigation service for the risks.
