The research will show how well this program can contribute to raising of their adaptability of everyday life by decreasing the difficulties that the patients had before in their daily life. The sample persons for this research were 40 adult patients who had T.K.R.A. in our hospital, and the data were collected through the questionnaires which were given to them. For the surveying tool, Jette's scale was applied to measure the degree of uncomforting that the patients experienced in their daily life. The materials of report had been gathered from May 1st to December 10th. The collected data were analyzed with real numbers, percentage, average, the standard deviation, TorF test and Pearsons correlation. The results of this study can be summarized like follows: The survey of self-caring exercise part were processed with two groups containing experiment group and contrast group. The exercise which took the highest points in experiment group was repetition of stretching and bending knees with laid down position while taking a walk, repetition of stretching and bending knees with seated on chair position and repetition of stretching and bending knees with laid down position got high points in contrast group. There were distinctive differences in statistics between repetition of stretching and bending knees in laid down position and taking a walk. There was no significant statistical gap between the degrees of inconveniences of daily life that each two groups experienced when we compared the average of the two groups, but 12 out of 20 questions got considerable differences. According to common characters of self-caring, there was a distinctive gap in the group who left the hospital in 14days and the ones who spend more than 30 minutes with exercise. The patient group who left the hospital in fourteen days after T.K.R.A. spent more time doing self-caring exercise. In the relationship between common characters and the degree of difficulties of daily life, Exercising is effective and Spending more that 30 minutes for exercise showed visible differences. The patients who answered that exercise are effective and put more time for it experienced less pain in their everyday life. The data proved by Pearson's correlation showed the relationship between self- caring and the degree of pain of daily life. According to the result, the increasing of self-caring activities helped to down the degree of inconveniences of daily life. This data show that T.K.R.A. reduced self-caring exercise ability and daily life activities. Therefore, the medical staffs who would take care the T.K.R.A. patients should offer stable nursing through well scheduled and education materials for patients. It is also important to encourage the patients to participate to the exercise by showing them how exercise after T.K.R.A. • Water distribution networks (WDNs) are designed to satisfy water requirement of an urban community. One of the central issues in human history is providing sufficient quality and quantity of water through WDNs. A WDN consists of a great number of pipelines with different ages, lengths, materials, and sizes in varying degrees of deterioration. The available annual budget for rehabilitation of these infrastructures only covers part of the network; thus it is important to manage the limited budget in the most cost-effective manner. In this study, a novel pipe replacement scheduling approach is proposed in order to smooth the annual investment time series based on a life cycle cost assessment. The proposed approach is applied to a real WDN currently operating in South Korea. The proposed scheduling plan considers both the annual budget limitation and the optimum investment on pipes' useful life. A non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm is used to solve a multi-objective optimization problem. Three decision-making objectives, including the minimum imposed LCC of the network, the minimum standard deviation of annual cost, and the minimum average age of the network, are considered to find optimal pipe replacement planning over long-term time period. The results indicate that the proposed scheduling structure provides efficient and cost-effective rehabilitation management of water network with consistent annual budget.

  • Background: Zinc transporters have been considered as essential regulators in many cancers; however, their mechanisms remain unknown, especially in gliomas. Isocitrate dehydrogenase 1(IDH1) mutation is crucial to glioma. This study aimed to investigate whether zinc transporters are correlated with glioma grade and IDH1 mutation status. Materials and Methods: IDH1 mutation status and mRNA expression of four zinc transporters (ZIP4, ZIP9, ZIP11, and ZnT9) were determined by subjecting a panel of 74 glioma tissue samples to quantitative real-time PCR and pyrosequencing. The correlations between the expression levels of these zinc transporter genes and the grade of glioma, as well as IDH1 mutation status, were investigated. Results: Among the four zinc transporter genes, high ZIP4 expression and low ZIP11 expression were significantly associated with higher grade (grades III and IV) tumors compared with lower grade (grades I and II) counterparts (p<0.0001). However, only ZIP11 exhibited weak correlation with IDH1 mutation status (p=0.045). Samples with mutations in IDH1 displayed higher ZIP11 expression than those without IDH1 mutations. Conclusions: This finding indicated that zinc transporters may interact with IDH1 mutation by direct modulation or action in some shared pathways or genes to promote the development of glioma. Zinc transporters may play an important role in glioma. ZIP4 and ZIP11 are promising molecular diagnostic markers and novel therapeutic targets. Nevertheless, the detailed biological function of zinc transporters and the mechanism of the potential interaction between ZIP11 and IDH1 mutation in gliomagenesis should be further investigated.

  • Objectives: The maintenance of the healthy periodontal ligament cells of the root surface of donor tooth and intimate surface contact between the donor tooth and the recipient bone are the key factors for successful tooth transplantation. In order to achieve these purposes, a duplicated donor tooth model can be utilized to reduce the extra-oral time using the computer-aided rapid prototyping (CARP) technique. Materials and Methods: Briefly, a three-dimensional digital imaging and communication in medicine (DICOM) image with the real dimensions of the donor tooth was obtained from a computed tomography (CT), and a life-sized resin tooth model was fabricated. Dimensional errors between real tooth, 3D CT image model and CARP model were calculated. And extra-oral time was recorded during the autotransplantation of the teeth. Results: The average extra-oral time was 7 min 25 sec with the range of immediate to 25 min in cases which extra-oral root canal treatments were not performed while it was 9 min 15 sec when extra-oral root canal treatments were performed. The average radiographic distance between the root surface and the alveolar bone was 1.17 mm and 1.35 mm at mesial cervix and apex; they were 0.98 mm and 1.26 mm at the distal cervix and apex. When the dimensional errors between real tooth, 3D CT image model and CARP model were measured in cadavers, the average of absolute error was 0.291 mm between real teeth and CARP model. Conclusions: These data indicate that CARP may be of value in minimizing the extra-oral time and the gap between the donor tooth and the recipient alveolar bone in tooth transplantation.

  • The bogie between the track and the railway vehicle body, is one of the most important component in railroad vehicle. Its effects on the safety of both passengers and vehicle itself, and on the overall performance of the vehicle such as riding quality, noise and vibration are critical. The bogie is mainly consisted of the bogie frame, suspensions, wheels and axles, braking system, and transmission system. The complex shapes of the bogie frame and the complicate loading condition (both static and dynamic) induced in real operation make it difficult to design the bogie frame fulfilling all the requirements. The complicated loads applied to the bogie frame are i) static load due to the weight of the vehicle and passengers, ii) quasi-static load due to the rolling in curves iii) dynamic load due to the relative motion between the track, bogie, and vehicle body. In designing the real bogie frame, fatigue analysis based on the above complicated loading conditions is a must. In this study, stress analysis of the bogie frame has been performed for the various loading conditions according to the UIC Code 6 15-4. Magnitudes of the stress amplitude and mean stress were estimated based on the stress analysis results to simulate the operating loads encountered in service. Fatigue strength of the bogie frame was evaluated by using the constant life diagram of the material. 3-D surface modelling, finite element meshing, and finite element analysis were performed by Pro-Engineer, MSC/PATRAN, and MSC/NASTRAN, respectively.

  • The mobile robots to rescue a life in a disaster area and to explore planets demand high mobility as well as recognition of the environment. To avoid unknown obstacles exactly in unknown environment, accurate sensing is required. This paper proposes a sensor fusion to recognize unknown obstacles accurately by using low-cost sensors. Ultrasonic sensors and infrared sensors are used in this paper to avoid obstacles. If only one of these sensors is used alone, it is not useful fer the mobile robots to complete their tasks in the real world since the surrounding environment in the real world is complex and composed of many kinds of materials. So infrared sensor may not recognize transparent or reflective obstacles and ultrasonic sensor may not recognize narrow obstacles, far example, columns of small diameter. Therefore, I selected six ultrasonic sensors and five infrared sensors to detect obstacles. Then, I fused ultrasonic sensors with infrared sensors in order that both advantages and disadvantages of each sensor are utilized together. In fusing sensors, fuzzy algorithm is used to cope with the uncertainties of each sensor. TAMRY which is terrain-adaptive mobile robot is used as the mobile robot for experiments.

  • Mass customization (MC) is a business practice that aims to provide customers with customized products and services at near mass production efficiency. To achieve the aim, a number of methods to implementing MC are proposed. However, most of them require changes in entire process of the company, which make companies hesitate to implement MC even if it is essential to survive. In this paper, we proposed alternatives to partially implement MC for quick adaptation of MC. The base line assumption is not to change the production lines. The pros and cons of alternatives are given by qualitative and quantitative evaluation. Especially, by giving radar chart analysis of the quantitative measures, we give insight on the changes in the business performance measures, such as time to market and cost. Proposed alternatives are based on sub-processes such as purchasing raw materials, production process changes and packaging for efficient logistics. In this way, companies are able to provide customized products with small changing of the current manufacturing system. The process and benefit of the proposed strategy is verified by real world cases of a Korean health food company.

  • Transition metal-based organometallic complexes have shown great talents as a catalyst in various reactions. Designing organic molecules and coordinating them to such active centers have been a promising route to control the catalytic natures. Metallocene, which has transition metal atoms sandwiched by aromatic rings, is one of the representative systems for organometallic catalysts. Group 4-based metallocene catalysts have been most commonly used for the production of polyolefins, which have great world-wide markets in the real life. Graphenes and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were composed of extended $sp^2$ carbon networks, showing high electron mobility as well as have extremely large steric bulkiness relative to metal centers. We were inspired by these characteristics of such carbon-based nano-materials and assumed that they could intimately interact with active centers of metallocene catalysts. We examined this hypothesis and, recently, reported that CNTs dramatically changed catalytic natures of group 4-based catalysts when they formed hybrid systems with such catalysts. In conclusion, we produced hybrid materials composed of group-4 based metallocenes, $Cp_2ZrCl_2$ and $Cp_2TiCl_2$, and carbon-based nano-materials such as RGO and MWCNT. Such hybrids were generated via simple adsorption between Cp rings of metallocenes and graphitic surfaces of graphene/CNT. The hybrids showed interesting catalytic behaviors for ethylene polymerizations. Resulting PEs had significantly increased Mw relative to those produced from free metallocene-based catalytic systems, which are not adsorbed on carbon-based nano-materials. UHMWPEs with extremely high Mw were obtained at low Tp.
