  • Real-time implementations of the active adaptive noise controller are proposed and tested. There are three problems in active noise control such as real-time processing, an acoustic feedback of secondary signal and a time-delay of control system elements. For real-time processing, the DSP56001 was used. To avoid acoustic feedback, the secondary signal was excluded from prediction. And for compensation of time delay, the ahead prediction was applied. As the primary noise is reflected in space, the reflected noise should be controlled for perfect noise control. But in this case, the controller might be unstable. For solving the problem, it is proposed that the source noise and the reflected noise are predicted separately. Some experimental results show the stability and effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Also, a part inspection algorithm which calculates the position and direction of SMD(surface mounted device) accurately and performs the ruling using those information are presented, and a parallel processing technique for implementing those algorithms is also described. For a real-time implementation of iage acquisition and processing, several hardware modules, namely, multi-functional A/D-D/A board, frame memory board are developed. Particularly, a PE (processing element) board which employs the DSP56001 DSP (digital signal processor) is developed for the purpose of concurrent processing of part inspection algorithms. A stand-alone vision system is built by integration of the developed hardware modules and related softwares.

  • This research treated development of real time pitch tracer for training of musical tune of speech signal and pre-processing and post-processing technics were proposed to get higher accuracy in extraction of pitch. Autocorrelation Function was used to get pitch frequency from 64Hz to 980Hz in real time. Half Rectifier method and Envelop extraction method as a pre-processing was used to get higher accuracy in pitch detection, and improved results were obtained on noised speech signal. Post-processing method using periodicity of Autocorrelation was proposed to get higher accuracy in the high frequency region.

  • The scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) is an effective algorithm used in object recognition, panorama stitching, and image matching. However, due to its complexity, real-time processing is difficult to achieve with current software approaches. The increasing availability of parallel computers makes parallelizing these tasks an attractive approach. This paper proposes a novel parallel approach for SIFT algorithm implementation using a block filtering technique in a Gaussian convolution process on the SIMD Pixel Processor. This implementation fully exposes the available parallelism of the SIFT algorithm process and exploits the processing and input/output capabilities of the processor, which results in a system that can perform real-time image and video compression. We apply this implementation to images and measure the effectiveness of such an approach. Experimental simulation results indicate that the proposed method is capable of real-time applications, and the result of our parallel approach is outstanding in terms of the processing performance.

  • In this paper, the target simulator for RF signals was developed by using VST(Vector Signal Transceiver) and set by real-time signal processing SW programs. A function to process RF signals using FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) board was designed. The system functions capable of data processing, raw signals monitoring, target signals(simulated range, velocity) generating and RF environments data analyzing were implemented. And the characteristics of modulated signal were analyzed in RF environment. All function of programs for processing RF signal have options to store signal data and to manage the data. The validity of the signal simulation was confirmed through verification of simulated signal results.

  • This paper presents an implementation of a real-time multi-sensor data fusion algorithm for Flight Test Computer. The sensor data consist of positional information of the target from a radar, a GPS receiver and an INS. The data fusion algorithm is designed by the 21st order distributed Kalman Filter which is based on the PVA model with sensor bias states. A fault detection and correction logics are included in the algorithm for bad measurements and sensor faults. The statistical parameters for the states are obtained from Monte Carlo simulations and covariance analysis using test tracking data. The designed filter is verified by using real data both in post processing and real-time processing.

  • A computer vision system applied to an intelligent safety vehicle has been required to be worked on a small sized real time special purposed hardware not on a general purposed computer. In addition, the system should have a high reliability even under the adverse road traffic environment. This paper presents a design and an implementation of an onboard hardware system taking into account for high speed image processing to analyze a road traffic scene. The system is mainly composed of two parts: an early processing module of FPGA and a postprocessing module of DSP. The early processing module is designed to extract several image primitives such as the intensity of a gray level image and edge attributes in a real-time Especially, the module is optimized for the Sobel edge operation. The postprocessing module of DSP utilizes the image features from the early processing module for making image understanding or image analysis of a road traffic scene. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated by an experiment of a lane-related information extraction. The experiment shows the successful results of image processing speed of twenty-five frames of 320$\times$240 pixels per second.

  • Real-time access is required to handle continuous and unstructured data and should be flexible in management under dynamic state. Platform can be built to allow data collection, storage, and processing from local-server or multi-server. Although the former centralize method is easy to control, it creates an overload problem because it proceeds all the processing in one unit, and the latter distributed method performs parallel processing, so it is fast to respond and can easily scale system capacity, but the design is complex. This paper provides data collection and processing on one platform to derive significant insights from various data held by an enterprise or agency in the latter manner, which is intuitively available on dashboards and utilizes Spark to improve distributed processing performance. All service utilize dockers to distribute and management. The data used in this study was 100% collected from Kafka, showing that when the file size is 4.4 gigabytes, the data processing speed in spark cluster mode is 2 minute 15 seconds, about 3 minutes 19 seconds faster than the local mode.

  • As the Internet of Things evolves, various IoT services are provided. IFTTT is an abbreviation for If This Then That and refers to a service that links different web-based services. This paper proposes a system that generates and manages rules that combine the possibility of IFTTT service and the real-time event processing according to the concept of IoT service. Conventional database-based data processing methods are burdened to process a lot of data of IoT devices coming in real-time. The IoT device's data can be classified into formal data such as the amount of power, temperature value and position information, and informal data such as video or image data. Thus, this system classifies the data stream of IoT devices coming in real-time using the CEP engine Esper into a file signature table, classifies the formal/informal data, and shows the condition of the device data defined by the user and the service to be provided by applying the service.
