  • This study aims to develop an AI education program for secondary school students to help understand AI and to provide an experience of solving real-life problems by using AI, and to analyze the effectiveness of education. The education program based on the AI education system for K-12 developed in the previous study was composed of a total of 12 lessons by selecting the self-driving cars, which is emerging as a recent issue among real life problems, as the main topic. Classes were conducted for secondary school students who had experience in software education, and the effectiveness of education and class satisfaction were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the understanding of AI and the sense of AI efficacy were improved, and the class satisfaction was high in all items such as educational content, fun in class, difficulty of class, and interest in AI. Based on these results, implications for AI education for secondary students were proposed.

  • This study propose to develop artificial intelligence liberal arts courses for college students in the humanities and social sciences majors using the entry artificial intelligence model. A group of experts in computer, artificial intelligence, and pedagogy was formed, and the final artificial intelligence liberal arts course was developed using previous research analysis and Delphi techniques. As a result of the study, the educational topics were largely composed of four categories: image classification, image recognition, text classification, and sound classification. The training consisted of 1) Understanding the principles of artificial intelligence, 2) Practice using the entry artificial intelligence model, 3) Identifying the Ethical Impact, and 4) Based on learned, team idea meeting to solve real-life problems. Through this course, understanding the principles of the core technology of artificial intelligence can be directly implemented through the entry artificial intelligence model, and furthermore, based on the experience of solving various real-life problems with artificial intelligence, and it can be expected to contribute positively to understanding technology, exploring the ethics needed in the artificial intelligence era.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of lives and problems of 'Kirogi'(or Wild Goose) fathers, who were called fathers in the 'Kirogi' families, South Korean families separated by an ocean. They almost sent too much money that were $50-100\%$ of their family income to the families abroad, and got economic pressures so severely. More or less, they sold their own real estates, moved to much smaller sized house. and often expended the saving money. Also, they had difficulties of taking care of their children and felt lonely very much. By the hand, they might experience the adaptation process through 3 stages-troubles, acception(or wandering or enjoy), adjust (or violation). They had three types of problems, that is, family relationship problem(the isolation), psychological problem(loneliness and self-control), economic problem (financial pressure and drop of economic status). They found the strategies to overcome these problems for themselves. Firstly, they took lots of methods like email, internet chatting, phone, etc. to communicate with their family everyday and made many events to strengthen the ties among families. Secondly, they got rid of stresses mainly by joining with their colleagues at work. Finally, they decided to lower the standard of living of their family in foreign country or tried to find their wives' jobs to prevent the financial hardship.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze highschool girls' concerns about environmental problems after investigating the actual state of environmental education and to suggest some fundamental changes in the Home Economics classes to improve environmental education. The sample was selected form high school girl students in Kyounggi Province between September 16 and September 26, 1996. Eight hundred twenty (820) first and second grade respondents were used. The data were analyzed by frequency, mean, percentile, factor analysis. Duncan's Multiple Range Test, and Stepwise Multiple Regression. Based on the major findings, the most influential variable was parental attitudes towards environmental conservation and problem. Next in influence was the environmental education provided in Home Economics classes. Also important were the individual student's interest in Home Economics classes, and her belief in the utility of environmental conservation in everyday life. The research conclusions are as follows: 1. We'll find how to relate efficiently the environmental education with everyday life by analyzing thoroughly the text of home economics. 2. We'll develop how to educate students parents properly because parental attitudes to wards the environmental problem have a great effect on students' behaviors. 3. We'll ceinforce environmental education by developing problems, and to motivate them to take real action in the area of environmental conservation.

  • The availability of computers and the wide network of the internet of the 'Information Society' has created a new space: Cyberspace. In this situations, the matters of individual identities and morality are more important problems. Korean classical novel, Gu Wun Mong, embodied the exploration process of identities in virtual spaces, has gravity of a situation. Seong Jin, the hero experienced the life of Yang so you went throughing virtual life, be born again. And he met eight taoist fairy in that virtual world. In this process, Seong Jin overcame a dualistic world of view and established identity of genuine truth-seeker. The 'Dream-fantasy' experience differentiation real world and virture world and give to Seong Jin a new identity, So You. Seong Jin used avatar, So You was free from limits of self and became obtain multiple personalities. Finally, Seong Jin realized the fact that real world and virtual one is the same, for development self-perception. Seong Jin's enlightment provided solutions for modern netizens, who is ambivalent about contradiction the real and virtual, infinity and clash of desire.

  • Artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and ubiquitous robotic companions -the three most notable technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution-are receiving renewed attention each day. Technologies that can be experienced in daily life, such as autonomous navigation, real-time translators, and voice recognition services, are already being commercialized in the field of information technology. In the biosciences field in Korea, such technologies have become known to the local public with the introduction of the AI doctor Watson in large number of hospitals. Additionally, AlphaFold, a technology resembling the AI AlphaGo for the game Go, has surpassed the limit on protein folding predictions-the most challenging problems in the field of protein biology. This report discusses the significance of AI technology and big data on the bioscience field. The introduction of automated robots in this field is not just only for the purpose of convenience but a prerequisite for the real sense of AI and the consequent accumulation of basic scientific knowledge.

  • There are many problems with the fire detection devices being used in currently, because it is difficult to find location of the source of fire and determine where devices are working or not. In this paper, we proposed fire detection and rescue system using wireless sensor network that can be real-time monitoring and determine safe exit. Fire detection and rescue system based on ubiquitous sensor network can know exactly source of fire and help determine rescue tactics using sensing data from wireless sensor nodes. Transmitted wirelessly in real-time thermal sensor and gas sensor information to analyze the GUI to monitor the status information output to the screen by use of a system implemented in everyday life, looked at the possibility.

  • The demand for agricultural information system are small but expanding in Korea. Use of information system in farm extension hilps both farmers and extensionists. This study undertakes surveys of literature on information system and extension to finds their relationship. Use of the information system can make extension service more effective if it is developed to meet following factors; 1) consider real farm problem; 2) solve the problems; 3) generate more values than costs; 4) consider real farm environments; 5) comprehensive enough to consider all relevant knowledge domain; 6) sensitive enough to meet the changes in farm environment; 7) educational and easy to learn; 8) easy to maintain.

  • In this paper, we first address the problems associated with indexing and searching for reduced-dimensional vectors, which are reduced by using a combination of angle approximation and dimension grouping. Then, we propose a novel method to solve the problems. We also show the superiority of the proposed method by performing extensive experiments with synthetic and real-life data sets.

  • As an extension of a previous work by the authors (Song and Esogbue, 2006), a new algorithm for automated modeling of nonstationary seasonal time series is presented in this paper. Issues relative to the methodology for building automatically seasonal time series models and periodic time series models are addressed. This is achieved by inspecting the trend, estimating the seasonality, determining the orders of the model, and estimating the parameters. As in our previous work, the major instruments used in the model identification process are correlograms of the modeling errors while the least square method is used for parameter estimation. We provide numerical illustrations of the performance of the new algorithms with respect to building both seasonal time series and periodic time series models. Additionally, we consider forecasting and exercise the models on some sample time series problems found in the literature as well as real life problems drawn from the retail industry. In each instance, the models are built automatically avoiding the necessity of any human intervention.
