Design of the Radial Extrusion Process for the General-Purpose Flange Using Model Material (모델재료를 이용한 범용 플랜지의 레이디얼 압출 공정설계)

  • This study is to compare and analyze the material flow, deformation characteristics, and forming load of flange by means of similitude experimental method of model material using plasticine. In order to find optimal forming conditions, prototype experiments were designed to investigate forming characteristics of general-purpose flange under various working conditions. As a result of prototype experiments, billet thickness and gap-height ratio was found to be the most influential experimental parameter in flange forming. Forming loads from prototype experiments were compared to the results of finite element analysis after conducting estimation of forming loads of real material. Results of prototype experiments based on model material techniques are expected to be used as a basic data of die design f3r the development of products and process.

  • When a modeling process is applied to an actual commodity market in the real world, interactions over closely related commodities through the marketing channel should also be formulated into the model to reflect the information that exists in the whole market system, otherwise unreliable estimates and test statistics may be produced by ignoring those effects. Single-equation type model in this case tends to yield inefficient estimates, and sometimes biased and inconsistent, which will mislead us. A system of equation method to examine the structure of the imported commodity market system is developed and its emtirical results are analyzed, then followed by some policy experiments and its implications.

  • The permissible positioning error of the transducer used in reactor inspection must be within 10 mm. To implement the required precision it is necessary to manufacture all components affecting the positioning mechanism correctly and precisely. In addition, it is also necessary to handle error factors accurately. This paper describes the activities of the findings and corrections of the errors which were occurred in experiments. Those activities are; i) Categorization of error factors, ii) Cause analysis of errors, iii) Correction of errors founded in experiments by the analysis of laser induction type and by the validation of real measurement of horizontal, vertical baselines.

  • A spectroelectrochemical system assembled with a white light source, bifurcated optical fiber, Oriel Multispec spectrograph, and a charge-coupled device (CCD) detector is described. The system is shown to be capable of acquiring a whole spectrum in the spectral range of 290-800 nm in 25 ms or a longer period during electrochemical experiments at reflective working electrodes such as platinum or mercury. The utility of the system in studying electrochemical reactions during the potential scan, galvanostatic electrolysis, or after the potential step is demonstrated.

  • In this experiments of design, vibration evaluation, and test of vehicles, aircraft, and other mechanisms the development of vibration simulator that serves environment similar to real fields takes lots of advantages. Especially, in the real field test of vehicles it possesses the advantages of showing the dynamic characteristics of the vehicle. In this study, to investigate the validity and fitness of proposed 6DOF parallel link mechanism we simulated that mechanism.

  • With the expansion of research and development for the CIM and the IMS, the importance of introducing the communication network is being increased. This paper presents an implementation of robot workcell by using Fieldbus and investigates data operation of the robot workcell. Through experiments, the operations of periodic and real-time data, and non-periodic real-time data are studied. Also, the relationship between the network transmission rate and the monitoring results from the sensor is analyzed.

  • This paper suggests a high-speed blurred blob image inspection algorithm. When we inspect some products using high-resolution camera, the detected blob images usually have severe blur. And the blur makes it hard to detect an object. There are many blur-processing algorithms, but most of them have no real-time property for high-speed applications at all. In this paper, an MMX technology based algorithm is suggested. The suggested algorithm was found to be effective to detect the blurred blob images via many simulations and long time real-plant experiments.

  • In case of performing resin transfer molding (RTM), race track effects and non-uniform fiber volume fraction may cause undesirable resin flow pattern and thus result in dry spots, which affect the mechanical properties of the finished parts. In this study, a real time RTM control strategy to reduce these unfavorable effects is proposed. Through numerical simulations and experiments, the validity of the proposed scheme is demonstrated.

  • In this paper, we present a DirectShow-based retrieval and playback subsystem of DVR(Digital Video Recorder), which supports real-time playback of stored video data and synchronized playback among several video channel data. The effectiveness of out proposed design is verified through experiments with a DVR system implementing the proposed design.

  • Lateral Information Propagation Neural Networks (LIPN) is proposed for on-line interpolation. The proposed neural network technique is the real time computation method through the inter-node diffusion. In the network, a node corresponds to a state in the quantized input space. Through several simulation experiments, real time reconstruction of the nonlinear image information is processed.
