This paper is proposed non-contact plant growth measurement system using infrared sensor based on USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technologies. The proposed system has used noncontact sensors to reduce any potential damage when it measures the growth of the plant. In this system, plant growth parameters such as diameter, cross-sectional area and thickening form are measured in real-time non-contact method. The measured data are transmitted to remote server by using sensor network technologies, stored and analyzed at the server, and the analyzed data are finally provided for users. In this paper, the proposed plant growth measurement system has been designed and implemented using non-contact infrared sensor based measurement methods and devices, and its performances have been verified by actual measurement experiments at the fields.

This paper shows optimal dimensioning for the corner combined footings to obtain the most economical contact surface on the soil (optimal area), due to an axial load, moment around of the axis "X" and moment around of the axis "Y" applied to each column. The proposed model considers soil real pressure, i.e., the pressure varies linearly. The classical model is developed by trial and error, i.e., a dimension is proposed, and after, using the equation of the biaxial bending is obtained the stress acting on each vertex of the corner combined footing, which must meet the conditions following: 1) Minimum stress should be equal or greater than zero, because the soil is not withstand tensile. 2) Maximum stress must be equal or less than the allowable capacity that can be capable of withstand the soil. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the validity of the optimization techniques to obtain the minimum area of corner combined footings under an axial load and moments in two directions applied to each column.
Purpose - Foodservices have grown to over 60% of the franchise industry. However, despite reaching this high level, the foodservice franchise industry is experiencing severe ups and downs. While factors such as expansion by franchises and the entry of large multinational firms are causing this imbalance, the more serious problem faced by franchisees is the lack of know-how and correct operating procedures. Franchise headquarters should advise franchisees on important matters such as food ingredients, interior design, tableware, and fixtures. However, even though franchise headquarters have the ability to impart such management know-how, this is often a neglected area. Research design, data and methodology - This study was conducted in an industrial environment to present suitable competitive alternatives for foodservice franchises. Empirical analysis was conducted using a sample of 232 people with experience in targeting customers. The main purpose of this study is not to identify and analyze the factors affecting customer satisfaction. Customers of the Food Service Industry to invite contacts until departure for the service flow by identifying the expectations and allow this area by analyzing the resulting measures to enhance the competitiveness has presented. Results - Actual results contact factors affecting the quality of service on customer satisfaction was a significant influence. However, the end of this analysis, the actual customer satisfaction directly affects the quality of service that is only important factor can commit mistakes. Relatively large impact on customer satisfaction, which is relatively independent of the quality factor should be a review of zone of tolerance. In this study, eating phase relative to contact the service customer satisfaction was the most influential. The results, however, zone of tolerance for an area in the waiting and ordering dissatisfaction factors are appearing. And in the course of these services outside the zone of tolerance area is unsatisfactory evaluation is being done. Conclusions - After all, Foodservice, the contact service management for zone of tolerance the top priority should be can be seen. Foodservice contact first in the case of service quality factors caused by the continuous flow of services, so this step-by-step identification needs to be clearer. This, of course, to distinguish between the actual per unit of activity appears to be more difficult to follow, for it seems to need a lot of future complementary. Next is the assessment of customer service quality. Customers remember the experience for the services of a real contact through the assessment and service evaluation clearly emerge as the expected level can be difficult. However, this situation is controlled by the test method cannot be avoided unless there is no limit to the number of leave. Despite these limitations, the next step to contact a service evaluation and analysis have to continue to refine and thereby franchisees for the operation of the store in terms of practical know-how required to provide to the office believe.

In this study, we have attempted to characterize the photovoltaic effect in real-time measurement of photoinduced current in a poly-Si-based solar cell using photoconductive atomic force microscopy (PC-AFM). However, the high contact resistance that originates from the metal-semiconductor Schottky contact disturbs the current flow and makes it difficult to measure the photoinduced current. To solve this problem, a thin metallic film has been coated on the surface of the device, which successfully decreases the contact resistance. In the PC-AFM analysis, we used a metal-coated conducting cantilever tip as the top electrode of the solar cell and light from a halogen lamp was irradiated on the PC-AFM scanning region. As the light intensity becomes stronger, the current value increases up to $200{\mu}A$ at 80 W, as more electrons and hole carriers are generated because of the photovoltaic effect. The ratio of the conducting area at different conditions was calculated, and it showed a behavior similar to that generated by a photoinduced current. On analyzing the PC-AFM measurement results, we have verified the correlation between the light intensity and photoinduced current of the poly-Si-based solar cell in nanometer scale.
Currently, the world has experienced a mass exodus of workforce from the manufacturing industry to service related industry. In addition, the changes of industry structure toward service industry have been gradually accelerated. We have felt that it is time to conduct researches about IT service systematizing and discovering the essence of service itself with scientific and synthetic ways based on Service Science. For Service Science researchers, service identification is regarded as a difficult activity when they contact it for the first time and they want to apply it real environment. In reality, there exist mismatches between business and IT service to identify service since service is identified from the business point of view in Service Science area and it is identified from the technical point of view in IT service area. In this paper, we have conducted researches about service identification placed on the first priority and regarded as difficult area in service-oriented business area. To lessen aforementioned difficulties, we propose procedures and methods for extracting and identifying service in the viewpoint of business process. We conducted case study and comparison with existing researches to verify the applicability and the excellence of our proposal.
In order to produce a water repellent surface on polyester fabric, samples were treated in the atmosphere of $CF_4$ glow discharge plasma. The samples used in the study were ployester fabric and poyester film. The purpose of film treatment is for the comparison of hydrophobicity with fabric sample at same treatment condition. Radio frequency(13.56MHz) generator was used as electric source and its in put power is 100 Watt. Water repellency was evaluated by contact angle measurement. Result obtained are as follows. 1) Fiber interstice of original fabric was ana lysed as 0.43$\mu$m, and this value was sufficiently ideal for making water repellent fabric. 2) The most favorable setting position of substrate was the center area between two electrodes. 3) Fabric contact angle was higher than film contact angle at same treatment condition, and its difference was more than 50${\circ}$. And it was incapalbe of fabric contact angle measurement when the film contact angle was less than 90${\circ}$. because the fabric is susceptible to absorption of water by the capillary effect. 4) Fabric contact angle can not revealed the precise defferences of surface hydrophobicity, however, the film contact angle showed the real hydrophobic nature. 5) It was not sufficient method to evaluate the hydrophobicity of fabric surface by merely measure of the water contact angle. 6) It showed high water repellent nature at 0.06 torr of $CF_4$ plasma gas pressure and duration of 45 seconds treatment, and it can not be anticipated more improved nature if the pressure and duration of treatment time were increased.

Friction and wear behavior of tungsten oxide nanorods (TONs) was investigated using friction force microscopy(FFM) employing colloidal probes instead of conventional sharp tips. Vertically well-ordered TONs with 40 nm diameter, 130 nm length and 100 nm pitch width were synthesized on an anodic aluminium oxide substrate using two step electrochemical anodizing processes. The colloidal probe (diameter 20 ${\mu}m$) attached at the free end of tipless cantilever was oscillated(scanned) against a stationary surface of vertically aligned TONs with various scan speeds (1.2 ${\mu}m/s$, 3.0 ${\mu}m/s$ and 6.0 ${\mu}m/s$) and sliding cycles (100, 200 and 400) under normal load of 800 nN. The friction force and wear depth decreased with the increase of the scan speed. Plastically deformed thin layers were formed and sparsely deposited on the worn nonorod surface. The lower wear rate of the TONs with the longer oscillating cycles was attributed to the decreased real contact pressure due to the increase of real contact area between the colloidal probe and the TONs.

Conventional measurement methods using ultrasonic wave or x-ray, eddy current for non-destructive testing(NDT) in nuclear power plants and other industrial plants have been utilized as the method of contact with objects to be inspected. For this reason these methods require relatively much time and inspection area is limited by the location of probe or film. But holograpic interferometry which is a non-contact optical measurement method using a coherent light source has an advantage that quantative measurement can be performed at a time. In this paper a new method using realtime holographic interfreometry and image processing for detecting internal flaws of pressure vessels is presented.

Nanotribological characteristics of hydrophobic surfaces were studied experimentally using an atomic force microscope (AFM). Two kinds of thiolic self-assembled monolayers (SAM) having different spacer chains and their mixture were deposited onto gold-coated mica, where the deposited SAM resulted in the hydrophobic nature. Results showed that the mixed thiolic SAMs resulted in low adhesion and friction in nano-scale contact. It was argued that the water wetting characteristics played a central role on nano-scale adhesion and friction. Also the effect of mixing the thiolic SAMs were discussed on the basis of real area on contact and the stiffness of the SAM layers.

This paper demonstrates a new non-contact electronic joystick using single hall sensor which detects a horizontal vector of the magnetic field. Furthermore, in this paper, it is mathematically modeled that nonlinear characteristics between the output of hall sensor and the movement of joystick bar. The dynamic horizontal vector of magnetic flux is detected by the hall sensor while a permanent magnet is rotated with the joystick bar, which has two dimension detecting area. Using the nonlinear adjustment equations, the output signals of hall sensor have been linearized to give higher accuracy in the two dimension movement. Finally, through the real experiments, it is showed that the single hall sensor structure mechanism is superior to the dual sensor structure in sensing the two-dimensional motion without offset.
