Until now, healing programs in libraries have provided services under the theme of reading therapy as part of the reading culture program. The purpose of this study is to suggest a way to revitalize healing programs in libraries. This study derives the types and themes of healing activities and analyzes the healing activities in libraries and similar institutions. As a result, first, the healing content to be treated varies depending on the subject, so it should be applied to the library in consideration of this. Therefore, a treatment program was proposed for infants and children (0-13 years), adolescents (14-19 years), adolescents (20-64 years), and old age (65 years and over). Second, it proposed a way to operate healing programs through linkage with institutions such as libraries and medical institutions that were shown as a result of analysis of the healing program.
The PCR fragments of two distinct chitin synthase genes, PdCHSl and PdCHS2, were cloned from Penicillium diversum KCTC 6786. The nucleotide sequences of PdCHSl and PdCHS2 contained uninterrupted open reading frames (ORFs) of 570 bp excluding the primer sequence. The similarity analysis of the deduced amino acid sequences using BLASTP indicated that the possible evolutionary relationship between P. diversum and ascomycetous fungi. Multialignment of the deduced amino acid sequences of PdCHSs using CLASTAL W revealed that the PdCHSs fell into two different classes: PdCHSl into Class I and PdCHS2 into Class II of chitin synthase defined by Bowen et al. (1992). By Southern blot analysis, it was shown that each of the two genes is present as a single copy in the genome of P. diversum KCTC 6786.

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly changed the landscape of knowledge and information services that public libraries around the world have been providing since modern times. In particular, as social distancing has become routine, the contraction of cultural activities and the shift to online platforms have negatively impacted library visitation and use services, greatly reducing borrowing and reading, use of spaces and facilities, interlibrary loan services, program operations, and outreach services. Therefore, this study investigated and analyzed the current status of services provided by public libraries in Korea and abroad in response to COVID-19, and proposed practical ways to improve and expand services in response to COVID-19 based on the results of a survey of librarians' perceptions. Specifically, these include improving the online reservation system for reading and borrowing services and developing and providing various outreach services, acquiring and expanding electronic resources, expanding online program services (reading, culture, lifelong learning, etc.), strengthening library services for vulnerable populations, providing information portal services related to new infectious diseases, strengthening facilities and space provision services, preparing infectious disease response guidelines, and providing education and training to strengthen librarians' capabilities.
The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a nutrition education program that was designed to increase the knowledge, attitudes, and skills of Korean adults regarding nutrition labeling. The education program was 45 minutes of short-term training, which was conducted in the form of lectures and exercises. The contents of the program were as follows: in the introduction stage, talking about status and reasons for checking nutrition labels; in the development stage, explanation of nutrition labeling and their content, reading, and identifying sample nutrition labels, as well as comparing nutrition labels and selecting better foods; in the closing stage, summary of nutrition labeling and a pledge to check nutrition labels when purchasing processed food. A total of 53 adults (88.5% female) aged 30 years and over participated in this study. The nutrition labeling awareness of the subjects was increased significantly from 55.8 to 96.2% after the education. After the education, the correct recognition rate of a nutrition label was increased significantly from 26.9 to 78.8% for the amount of food, from 25.0 to 73.1% for the calorie content, from 36.5 to 69.2% for the nutrient contents, and from 30.8 to 82.7% for the percent daily value. The self-efficacy of checking nutrition labels was also increased significantly compared to that before the education. The overall satisfaction score of the nutrition education program was 4.2 out of 5. The outcome showed that the nutrition education program of nutrition labeling improved the participants' awareness and self-efficacy towards checking nutrition labels.
This paper investigates plans to expand distribution channels for books by installing a book vending machine at convenience stories for the vitalization of the publishing culture and industry. After establishing the meaning of convenience stories and the concept of a book vending machine, the researcher identified a need for the installation and management of a book vending machine at convenience stories. This plan will promote fairness and transparency in book sales through the convenience store system and push forward outsourcing between the publishing industry and the convenience store industry, the expansion of omnichannel service for consumers, and experiential values for clients to increase their customer satisfaction. The composition of the book vending machine will take the smart library form for its management with a universal design applied to a kiosk program. In the study, the researcher schematized this process and conducted a survey with 310 adults to search for practical management plans for a book vending machine. In the future, more research on the diversification of sales and distribution channels for publications such as the installation of a book vending machine at convenience stores will hopefully contribute to the growing amount of reading per capita and promotion of a reading environment for people according to the vitalization of the publishing culture and industry.

The one-way exposure has been the most common though the furniture arrangement varies with the characteristics of a program. Second, language or information technology related programs are the most frequently attended programs in public libraries. Lastly, the space usage for the reading education programs has had the highest level of the user satisfaction measurement while the user satisfaction is lower in those for general culture programs and health care programs.

In an attempt to study the current status and ways to revitalize cultural programs in small libraries, this study surveyed 142 small libraries based in the Seoul. Two most important functions of both public and private small libraries were found to be the loan/return of materials and cultural programs; over 50% of small libraries are operating cultural programs. It was also found that institutions that did not operate the cultural programs were aware of the necessity. Both public and private small libraries were operating one to three cultural programs, and their types varied from cultural refinement to reading-related programs. There was a higher rate of answers stating that the person in charge of operating cultural programs for public small libraries were administrative personnels, while the chief librarian was the person in charge for private small libraries.
