Photocure Reactions of Photoreactive Prepolymers with Cinnamate Groups

  • The photoreactive prepolymers with multifunctional cinnamate and bisphenol Atype cinnamate groups that could perform photodimerization without photoinitiators were synthesized by the reaction of t-cinnamic acids (CAs) and epoxy resins. Their photocure reaction rates and the extent of reaction conversion were measured with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and these increased with the intensity of UVirradiation. The experimental data of these reaction rates showed the characteristics of nth-order kinetics reaction, and all kinetic constants of each photoreactive polymer with this equation were summarized. Although the GTR-1800-HCA and KWG1-EP-HCA with hydroxyl group substituted cinnamate showed lower reaction conversion rates and rate constant than GTR-1800-CA and KWG1-EP-CAwith an unsubstituted cinnamate group, GTR-1800-MCAand KWG1-EP-MCAwith methoxy group substituted cinnamate showed similar and higher reaction conversion rates than the former, respectively. These results were explained in terms of segmental mobility for photopolymerization by molecular interactions.

  • We consider the reaction-diffusion system of two-component model in one-dimensional space described by $$ (1) u_s = d_1 u_{xx} + f(u, \upsilon) \upsilon_t = d_2\upsilon_{xx} + \gammag(u, \upsilon) $$ where $d_1$ and $d_2$ are the diffusion rates of u and $\upsilon$, and $\gamma$ is the ration of reaction rates. It is interesting the case of that there are differences in the diffusion and reaction rates of u and $\upsilon$.

고등학생들의 화학반응속도 개념과 화학평형 개념간의 상관관계 (The Correlation between Concepts on Chemical Reaction Rates and Concepts on Chemical Equilibrium in High School Students)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 고등학생들의 화학반응속도 개념과 화학평형 개념을 조사하여 이들간의 상관관계를 알아보고자 하는 것이었다. 연구대상은 경기도 K시 소재의 인문계 고등학교 자연계열 3학년 학생 120명이었다. 이 연구를 위하여 화학반응속도와 화학평형에 관한 학습내용에서 서로 관련이 있는 것들을 선정하여 개념 검사지를 개발하였고, 문항별 응답 내용을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 화학반응속도에 관한 객관식 문항에 대한 정답률은 높게 나타났으나, 응답 이유를 묻는 문항에 대한 정답률은 상대적으로 낮아서 화학반응속도에 대한 과학적 개념 형성이 잘 되어 있지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 대부분의 고등학생들은 정반응 속도에 관한 문항의 정답률은 높았으나 역반응 속도에 관한 문항의 정답률은 낮았다. 화학평형에 관한 개념의 형성 정도에 있어서는 한쪽 반응만 생각해도 이해할 수 있는 평형개념에 대한 정답률은 높게 나타났으나 정반응과 역반응을 동시에 생각해야 하는 문항에 대한 정답률은 낮게 나타났다. 고등학생들의 화학반응속도 개념과 화학평형 개념간의 상관관계에서 전체적인 상관관계가 다소 높은 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 역반응에 관한 화학반응속도 개념이 부족한 고등학생들은 화학평형이 동적 평형 상태라는 것을 잘 이해하지 못하는 것으로 나타났으며, 화학반응 메커니즘을 충돌론으로 잘 이해하지 못하는 고등학생들은 농도와 촉매가 화학평형 이동에 미치는 영향에 대한 이해도 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 농도와 촉매에 관련된 화학반응 개념과 화학평형 개념간에 상관관계가 있으나 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 화학평형의 선개념으로 중요한 부분인 화학반응속도에 관한 과학적 개념형성이 화학평형에 대한 오개념을 줄일 수 있는 방안이 될 수 있다. 그리고 한쪽 반응에만 국한된 화학반응속도에 관한 교수-학습 방법은 동적 평형과 관련된 화학평형 개념 형성에 어려움을 초래하므로, 화학반응속도론에 근거하여 정반응과 역반응을 모두 언급할 수 있도록 하는 교수-학습 방법을 개발하여 학습지도하는 것이 화학평형 개념 형성에 효과적일 것이다.

Electrochemical Studies on the Reaction of Superoxide Ion with Halocarbons in Aprotic Media

  • The reactivity of superoxide ion($O{_2}^{-.}$) with halogenated substrates is investigated by cyclic voltammetry and rotated ring-disk electrode method in aprotic solvents. The more positive the reduction potential of the substituted nitrile, the more facile is nucleophilic displacement by $O{_2}^{-.}$. The reaction rates of halogenonitriles with $O{_2}^{-.}$ vary according to the leaving-group propensity of halide (Br>Cl>F). The relative reaction rates of other substituted nitriles are in the order of electron-withdrawing propensity of the substituent group (CN> $C(O)NH_2$ >Ph, $CH_2CN$). The reaction of $O{_2}^{-.}$ with dihalocarbons indicates that five-membered rings can be rapidly formed by the cyclization of substrate and $O{_2}^{-.}$, and the relative rates of cyclization depend on the number of methylenic carbons {$Br(CH_2)_nBr$, [n=1<2<3>4>5]}. Mechanisms are proposed for the reaction of $O{_2}^{-.}$ with halogenated substrates.

  • 연구에서는 고등학교 과학 교과서에 제시된 화학반응속도 측정을 위한 실험을 수행할 때 관찰되는 현상을 이해함으로써 교과서 실험의 문제점과 그 원인을 분석하여 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 화학반응속도 측정과 관련된 단원의 교과서 내용을 분석하였으며, 실험을 수행할 때 발견되는 문제점을 실험 분석을 통해 제시하였다. 교과서에 제시된 수상치환법으로 실험을 하였을 때 부피 변화가 지연되어 관찰되는 현상과 반응속도가 초기에 증가하는 현상이 관찰되었다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 개선된 실험 방법을 제안하였다. 개선된 실험에서 반응속도는 시간에 대해 일정하게 측정되었고, 그 결과를 수소이온 농도와 마그네슘 리본의 표면적의 관점에서 해석하였다.

소의 항정자항체가 정자의 수정능획득 및 첨체반응에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Antisperm Antibodies on Capacitation and Acrosome Reaction of Bovine Spermatozoa)

  • The present study was performed to investigate the effects of caffeine and heparin on capacitation and acrosome reaction of bovine spermatozoa, effects of antisperm antibodies on acrosome reaction of bovine spermatozoa. The rates of acrosome reaction in control group, caffeine treated group, heparin treated group, caffeine-heparin complex treated group were 40.3, 54.3, 63.3, 72.3%, respectively and there were significant differences among the groups(p<0.01), especially higher in caffeine-heparin complex treated group than the others. The rates of acrosome reaction of antisperm antibodies serum supplemented groups(5, 10 and 20%) were 60.4, 48.9 and 37.1%, respectively and there were significant differences among the groups(p<0.0l), and the more increases in serum concentrations, the more decreases in acrosome reaction, but this phenomenon was not seen in fetal calf serum supplemented group and heifer serum group. When the serum concentration was 5%, the rates of acrosome reactions were significantly lower in fetal calf serum supplemented group than heifer serum group and in antisperm antibodies serum group(p<0.01), and there were no significant differences between heifer serum group and antisperm antibodies serum group(p<0.01). When the serum conecntrations were 10%, 20%, the rates of acrosome reactions were significantly lower in antisperm antibodies serum supplemented group than in fetal calf serum group and in geifer serum group(p<0.01), and there were no significant differences between fetal calf serum group and heifer serum group(p<0.01). These results indicate that caffeine-heparin complex treatment is very effective for inducing acrosome reaction of bovine spermatozoa and that antisperm antibodies block acrosome reaction.

탄화규소 휘스커의 합성(I) : 반응기구의 율속반응 (Synthesis of Silicon Carbide Whiskers (I) : Reaction Mechanism and Rate-Controlling Reaction)

  • A twt -step carbothermal reduction scheme has been employed for the synthesis of SiC whiskers in an Ar or a H2 atmosphere via vapor-solid two-stage and vapor-liquid-solid growth mechanism respectively. It has been shown that the whisker growth proceed through the following reaction mechanism in an Ar at-mosphere : SiO2(S)+C(s)-SiO(v)+CO(v) SiO(v)3CO(v)=SiC(s)whisker+2CO2(v) 2C(s)+2CO2(v)=4CO(v) the third reaction appears to be the rate-controlling reaction since the overall reaction rates are dominated by the carbon which is participated in this reaction. The whisker growth proceeded through the following reaction mechaism in a H2 atmosphere : SiO2(s)+C(s)=SiO(v)+CO(v) 2C(s)+4H2(v)=2CH4(v) SiO(v)+2CH4(v)=SiC(s)whisker+CO(v)+4H2(v) The first reaction appears to be the rate-controlling reaction since the overall reaction rates are enhanced byincreasing the SiO vapor generation rate.

  • The rates of absorption of carbon dioxide into aqueous solutions of 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol (AMP) were measured using a semibatch stirred vessel with a plane gas-liquid interface at $25^{\circ}C.$ The absorption rates under the fast reaction regime were analysed using chemical absorption theory. The reaction was found to be first order with respect to both $CO_2$ and the amine.
