A Study on the Load Frequency Control of 2-Area Power System using Fuzzy-Neural Network Controller (퍼지-신경망 제어기를 이용한 2지역 계통의 부하주파수제어에 관한연구)

  • This paper proposes the structure and the algorithm of the Fuzzy-Neural Controller(FNNC) which is able to adapt itself to unknown plant and the change of circumstances at the Fuzzy Logic Controller(FLC) with the Neural Network. This Learning Fuzzy Logic Controller is made up of Fuzzy Logic controller in charge of a main role and Neural Network of an adaptation in variable circumstances. This construct optimal fuzzy controller applied to the 2-area load frequency control of power system, and then it would examine fitness about parameter variation of plant or variation of circumstances. And it proposes the optimal Scale factor method wsint three preformance functions( E, , U) of system dynamics of load frequency control with error back-propagation learning algorithm. Applying the controller to the model of load frequency control, it is shown that the FNNC method has better rapidity for load disturbance, reduces load frequency maximum deviation and tie line power flow deviation and minimizes reaching and settling time compared to the Optimal Fuzzy Logic Controller(OFLC) and the Optimal Control for optimzation of performance index in past control techniques.

An Experimental Study on Smoke Movement by the External Wind in Road Tunnel Fires (도로터널 화재 시 외부 바람에 의한 연기거동 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • In this study, reduced scale experiments were carried out to evaluate the effect of external wind in a road tunnel fire. Experiments were conducted in a $1.1m{\times}0.5m{\times}50.4m$ tunnel. 4.5 litter gasoline was used as a fuel. Temperature, oxygen and carbon monoxide concentration were measured. Smoke reaching time to the tunnel exit was affected by the external wind. When a fire was fully developed, wind effect is reduced compared with the early stage of a fire. CO concentration was reached at more than 1,500 ppm.

  • Recently, as the infocomindustry is developed, the semiconductor industry as well as the optical industry such as the optical communication and the optical instrument is developed rapidly. The transmission, storage and processing of information has been reaching an limit because amounts of information increase rapidly. The more quickly the optical communication is developed, the more sharply the demand of optical elements increase. The transport and inspection process is time consuming and the error rate is high, because this process are not automated in case of an optical lens. In this paper, the pick-up system that can hold optical elements and be transferred by the ultrasonic transport system is developed. The inspection system that distinguishes between the existence and the nonexistence of a defect is connected easily to pick-up system. The pick-up system separates the optical glass lens by results of the inspection. The automation program is developed by visual c++ programming.

Physicochemical and Sensory Characteristics of Traditional Doenjang Prepared using a Meju Containing Components of Acanthopanax senticosus, Angelica gigas, and Corni fructus (가시오가피, 당귀와 산수유 성분이 함유된 메주로 제조한 전통 된장의 이화학적 특성 및 관능적 특성)

  • Changes in the quality characteristics of doenjang prepared with a meju containing components of Acanthopanax senticosus, Angelica gigas and Corni fructus during storage were evaluated. Three types of doenjang produced using each of these components showed lower Hunter's L and a values than the values of the control during the initial stage of storage: however, these values were similar to those of the control after 60 days of storage. Doenjang containing A. gigas showed a similar degree of browning to that of the control during the early stage of storage, while the degree of browning observed in the other samples was much higher than that og the control during this period. Despite these initial differences, the browning in all samples became similar after extended storage. The level of acidity increased gradually for up to 60 days, after which it decreased slightly. The pH of all treatments decreased with storage time. The amino-N contents of all types of doenjang increased gradually, reaching peak values after 60 days. Doenjang with A. senticosus and A. gigas had a strong characteristic flavor that reduced the native flavor of doenjang. Doenjang with C. fructus showed a similar overall palatability to that of the control.

  • This study has investigated fire safety rules related with traditional temples and main fire causes and cases to traditional temples among traditional wooden buildings so has analyzed fire vulnerability, and through a field probe of three traditional temples in Eunpyeonggu Seoul which have cultural properties, has analyzed geographical conditions, going out path spot reaching time required of a fire brigade, fire protection system, fire prevention administration and security system, factors of fire vulnerability, and has presented about fire safety plans of traditional temples.

Influence of Pilates on physical factors related to exercise performance

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to investigate the effectiveness of Pilates exercise on Fitness Factors related to motor performance including flexibility, agility, power, balance, and muscle endurance. Methods: Forty subjects were randomly allocated to one of two groups. The Pilates group did Pilates exercises 3 times a week for 8weeks, 60 minutes each time, and submitted to evaluation of protocols to assess sitting and reaching tests, a standing broad jump test, a side step test, a balance test using a Biodex Stability System, and muscle endurance using CSMI. Results: The Pilates group (n=20) participated in Pilates exercises three times in a week for eight weeks. The results show significant post-test differences in the Pilates group in the following areas: flexibility, agility, power, balance and muscle endurance. There was no significant increase in the control group. Post-exercise, there was no significant difference between the Pilates and control group. Conclusion: The Pilates method can offer significant improvement in personal flexibility, agility, power, balance, and muscle endurance. This study suggests that individuals can improve their Fitness Factors related to motor performance using Pilates exercises that do not require equipment or a high degree of skill. Further study is required to quantify the benefits of Pilates exercise.

The Effect of Tienchu Acupoint Block, Occipital Nerve Block, and Trigger Point Injection for Treatment of Tension Type Headache (긴장형 두통 환자에서 천주점, 후두신경차단 및 통증유발점주사의 치료효과)

  • Background: Despite tension type headache is popular, the exact mechanism and method of treatment are not certain yet. So, we supposed the basic mechanism of tension type headache is myogenic, and did Tienchu acupoint block, occipital nerve block, and trigger point injection in tension type headache patients. Methods: Fifty-seven tension type headache patients were treated with local anesthetics and small dose of steroid. The intensity of pain and effect of every treatment was evaluated as Verbal Rating Score (VRS; 0~10) before and after every treatment. Evaluation of treatment was based on the time of treatment (1,2 times, 3 times, 4,5 times). Goal of treatment was VRS reaching below two point and it was considered as treated state. Results: Symptom improvement rates of each treatment were 90% (1, 2 times), 91% (3 times), 70% (4, 5 times) respectively. VRS reduction more than 50% rates were 60%, 64%, 60% respectively. Treated state (VRS<2) rates were 33%, 27%, 30% respectively. Conclusion: Tienchu acupoint block, occipital nerve block, trigger point injection were sorts of most effective and simply applicable modalities of treatment in tension type headache.

Winter Biomass of Ulva Mats in a Rocky Intertidal Zone of the Southern Coast of Korea (겨울철 암반 조간대에서 갈파래 (Ulva species) 매트의 생물량)

  • The biomass of Ulva mats was surveyed in a lower rocky shore of the southern coast of Korea during the 1998-1999 winter. The population selected for the present study was located on the tidal zone ranging from 118 cm to 130 cm below mean sea level (MSL), where abundance of Ulvu species was highest. The biomass of Ulva species increased gradually from December 1998 until February 1999, reaching the maximum of 374 g dry wtㆍm$^{-2}$ in February. The biomass varied little among the sampling quadrats for each sampling time. Over the course of the study a total of 16 taxa were sampled from Ulva mats, of which 5 were macrophytes and 11 were macroinvertebrates. Rodophyta comprised 3 taxa, followed by Phaeophyta of 2 taxa, but there was no Chlorophyta except for Ulva species. The macrofaunal assemblage was consisted of 8 taxa of Mollusca, 2 Arthropoda and 1 Annelida. There was a dramatic increase in Mytilus sp. in February. Moreover, the trend of biomass were similar between some macroinvertebrates and Ulva species. The results suggested that macroinvertebrates may play an important role in nutrient dynamics as well as food web. Further experimental evidence may be necessary to explain the correlation between Ulva mats and abundance of coexisting macroinvertebrates.

Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop a construction information management system for Apartment housing ,which stored data along project feature database, actual cost database and actual database based on the Web. This effort can make an offer the clearness of dull construction market and the base of construction intelligence

Evolution of the Magnetosphere in Response to a Sudden Ring Current Injection

  • The dynamical evolution of the Earth's magnetosphere loaded with a transiently enhanced ring current is studied by numerical magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) simulation. Two cases with different values of the primitive ring current are considered. In one case, the initial ring current is strong enough to create a magnetic island in the magnetosphere. The magnetic island readily reconnects with the earth-connected ambient field and is destroyed as the system approaches a steady equilibrium. In the other case, the initial ring current is not so strong, and the initial magnetic field configuration bears no magnetic island, but a wake of bent field lines, which is smoothed out through the relaxing evolution of the magnetosphere. The relaxation time of the magnetosphere is found to be about five to six minutes, over which the ring current is reduced to about a quarter of its initial value. Before reaching a steady state, the magnetosphere is found to undergo an overshooting expansion and a subsequent contraction. Fast and slow magnetosonic waves are identified to play an important role in the relaxation toward equilibrium.
