The objective of this study was to determine the status of star chart game applications in the Google play store in Korea. The share of game genres in paid and free star charts of game applications was searched. Also, the average reviewer's rating, average number of reviews, and average age rating based on the genre of paid and free star charts of game applications, and the average price of paid applications based on genre were analyzed. Hypothesis tests for the differences in average reviewer's rating, average number of reviews, average age rating according to the genre of game applications were performed. Also, hypothesis tests for the differences in average reviewer's rating, average number of reviews, average age rating between the paid and free game applications along with the hypothesis test for the differences in price according to the genre of paid game applications were performed. Lastly, hypothesis tests for the correlation between the start chart ranking and number of reviews in association with the correlation between the start chart ranking and reviewer's rating were performed. Statistically significant differences in average reviewer's rating, average number of reviews, average age rating according to the genre of game applications, and between the paid and free game applications were verified. However, the correlation between the start chart ranking and number of reviews in association with the correlation between the start chart ranking and reviewer's rating were not statistically significant.

Many survey data are collected today to measure personal values and to order them according to their importance. There are two popular procedures to achieve the goal: ranking procedures and rating procedures. The ranking procedures can be divided into two categories; full ranking procedures and reduced ranking procedures. The reduced ranking procedure is more often used because of its easiness to respondents. However, the ordered responses are not generally incorporated into ordering their values. This research has studied ways to incorporate the ordered responses into ordering the values. We have considered the ranking scales as the conditional rating scales. Our findings are that the ordering values based on the weighted proportions is better than one based on the unweighted proportions.

The current ranking system of the Korean Baduk Association is based on the Elo rating system, which is widely used in the field of chess. Despite the 6.5 point dum (penalty) as compensation for playing as White, many Baduk players still prefer to playing as Black due to Black's higher winning percentage. In this paper, we present the ranking of Baduk players based on the Bradley-Terry model and address the advantage of playing as Black. We compare the ranking from our model with rankings from the Korean Baduk Association.

Purpose - The purpose of this research is to make a comparative assessment of People Credit Funds (PCFs) ranking in Vietnam between the Circular No. 42/2016/TT-NHNN dated December 20, 2016 with the Decision No. 14/2007/QD-NHNN dated 09/4/2007 issued by the Governor of the State Bank. Research design, data, and methodology - This study is mainly based on the Circular No. 42/2016/TT-NHNN dated December 20, 2016 and the Decision No. 14/2007/QD-NHNN dated 09/4/2007 issued by the Governor of the State Bank on PCFs ranking. Results - The study paper has shown positive changes in PCFs ranking in Vietnam in accordance with the Circular No. 42/2016/TT-NHNN, such as increasing Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), maintaining CAR, improving assets quality, developing indicators of governance, management and control capability. These changes have implications for the development and efficient performance of PCFs in Vietnam. Conclusions - The classification and evaluation of PCFs will contribute to its healthy development. These finding support PCFs to understand more about rating methodology, significance of rating system and the importance of improving their rating. PCFs in Vietnam desire to develop their business effectively, they need to understand exactly and comply fully with regulations related to their field of operations.

The cinema circuit is facing a digital, network, and mobile age, which expands non-theater accessibility to movies. Application platforms are situated as the most competitive business model that provide digital content such as games, music, books, and movies. Consumers can acquire content-related information not just offline, but online as well. Therefore, item information provided by application platforms is required. The information provided by application platforms consists of richly descriptive information such as storyline summary, consumer reviews, and related articles, while non-descriptive normative information covers data such as sales ranking, release date, genre, rental or purchase cost, domestic/foreign classification, consumer rating, number of consumer ratings, film rating, and so on. In this study, we surveyed and analyzed statistically the correlation between real-time sales ranking and other comparable non-descriptive information.

Nowadays as video services grow rapidly, it is important for the service providers to provide customized services. Video ranking plays a key role for the service providers to attract the subscribers. In this paper we propose a weekly video ranking mechanism based on the quantified user engagement. The traditional QoE ranking mechanism is relatively subjective and usually is accomplished by grading, while QoS is relatively objective and is accomplished by analyzing the quality metrics. The goal of this paper is to establish a ranking mechanism which combines the both advantages of QoS and QoE according to the third-party data collection platform. We use data mining method to classify and analyze the collected data. In order to apply into the actual situation, we first group the videos and then use the regression tree and the decision tree (CART) to narrow down the number of them to a reasonable scale. After that we introduce the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) model and use Elo rating system to improve the fairness of our system. Questionnaire results verify that the proposed solution not only simplifies the computation but also increases the credibility of the system.

Technical countermeasures against debris flow should be established upon the risk level of the target location. Risk of debris flow should consider the hazard imposed by debris flow and vulnerability of the facilities to debris flow. In this research, we have defined the target location for risk evaluation and suggested scoring method of hazard of debris flow and vulnerability of road to debris flow. By defining risk rank into 6 categories in terms of possibility of damage during rainfall and using the risk scores of 46 debris flow cases, we have suggested risk ranking matrix. The method can be used in ranking the drainage basin adjacent to road by simply determining the hazard with vulnerability score and can be used for planning the debris flow countermeasures.

In this paper, we discuss patent pool and a patent valuation scheme for fair royalty distribution among the patents in a pool. In the knowledge-based economy, intellectual capital-the accumulation of technology and know-how-is recognized as the most important source of company's competitive advantage and economic growth. By providing exclusive rights to patent holders, the patent system aims to encourage innovation-invention & commercialization of new technologies-in order to raise the standard of living. However, drawbacks of patent system, which occur as the number of patents issued increases rapidly and patent ownership is fragmented, may slow down the innovation efforts seriously. A promising solution is the patent pool approach, which was for instance employed by the U.S. congress during World War I to free the airplane manufacturers from the patent tangle by letting them license all the patents for a fee. It is necessary to figure out relative technological contribution of patent for fair distribution of royalty revenues among patent holders. The Rating/Ranking Method seems to fit to that valuation purpose. We examined technology valuation models from various organizations and selected a set of more influential valuation factors which can be incorporated as scoring criteria in the Rating/Ranking Method.

Ranking-based conjoint analysis is widely used in various fields such as marketing research. While the ranking-based conjoint affords several advantages over the rating-based or choice-based conjoint, it has a serious shortcoming that respondents have much difficulty in ranking the product profiles in order of preference when many profiles are involved. This article suggests a new method for the preference measurement to improve the response efficiency. The method employs the concept of ranking sets that let the respondent evaluate a small number of profiles at a time. Through the proposed method, preference rankings of profiles obtained from each ranking set are aggregated to generate overall rankings. The balanced incomplete block design is expanded and transformed to the dual design in order to construct well-balanced ranking sets that can accommodate a large number of profiles. The proposed method is applied to the analysis of consumer preferences for perfume-for-women.

This study, a sub-one of comprehensive research works titled under "Rural Resources Evaluation System", tried to propose a rational methodology for development of rating tabulation on evaluation items. Firstly, the database system for handling of original/processed data of each evaluation items was constructed, being mainly focussed on the possibilities of data acquisition and statistical treatment. The rating tabulation system developed in the study has the formalized evaluation classes as 2 or 5 for convenience/simplification of analysis works. For each evaluation item in lower step of the goal system, 5 types of rating technique were arranged, which were based on statistical analysis using mean and standard deviation values(Type I), its existence or not(Type II), relative significance of its holding volume(Type III), synthesized weighting scale of its quality and quantity(Type IV), and the others(Type V). And, standardized 4-steps procedure for rating tabulation was proposed. Finally, the rating tabulation system developed in the study was applied to each evaluation item of goal system, from which the numerically-valued ranking criteria was obtained.
