Rapid growth of internet utilization consequences in an expansion of individual's social networks via SNS. Recently, Facebook has added six different emotion buttons reflecting suggestions claiming that "Like" button is limited, and thus must be improved. Regarding to how well newly updated six different emotion buttons were utilized, a survey that inquires the usefulness and usability of buttons for further improvement in service was conducted to 35 Facebook users of 20's and 30's, the most active ages with frequent usages. As a result, users responded with negative attitudes considering expression of six different emotions in Facebook, and exhibited less frequent usages of the service. According to respondents, the emotion expression service would lead better approachability if Facebook suggests simpler emotion expression, for example, two emotion buttons rather than current six buttons.
This study was conducted to investigate the attitude to various soy foods and to estimate dietary isoflavone intake among Korean adolescents. The survey was carried out by self-administered questionnaire with 800 middle and high school students residing in urban and rural areas and 714 questionnaires were collected: resulting in 89% response rate. The dietary isoflavone intake was estimated by food frequency questionnaire developed for rapid assessment of isoflavone intake. Soybean paste, soybean curd, soy milk, bean sprouts and dambuk were recognized as nutritious and healthy food in order. Dambuk got the lowest score in taste and flavor. Bean sprouts, soybean curd and soybean paste were recognized as familiar food in order. Stuffed rice in fried soybean curd got the highest score and Miso soup got the lowest in preference. More than 50% of the subjects consumed soybean paste stew/soup and soybean curd over twice per week and 12.3% of the subjects consumed soybean over once a day. The estimated daily intake of isoflavones ranged from 0 to 227 mg, and the mean daily isoflavone intake of the subjects was 28.1 mg (16.3 mg genistein and 12.0 mg daidzein) whereas the median value of isoflavone intake was 19.7 mg. There was statistically significant relationship among Kyung Gi Do, Chung cheung Do and Seoul residents in their intake of isoflavone. The highest monthly income group consumed isoflavone more than the other groups. These results suggest that Korean adolescent perceived the soybean dishes as high quality foods but they didn't take much because of difficulty to cook or less chance to eat. Nutrition education program is needed to enhance consuming soy foods for prevention of chronic diseases related to dietary isoflavone intake. More detailed information on easy cook method of soy food is also needed.
Efficiency and competitive power in agribusiness management has became important issue due to the rapid changes in farming environment under new WTO agreement. To increase competitive power, small-sized petty farm should be restructured to be specialized large-scaled farming system. Trust farming corporation(TFC) has been introduced to increase farm productivity and competitive power through large scale farming system and refined management skills. Eventually, TFCs are expected to revitalize rural economy. TFCs are increasing in numbers, but they are unsatisfactory in quality often with insolvent operations. The typical problems with TFCs are internal conflicts among members, lack of management abilities and incentives, inefficiency in machinery use, and insolvent operations. The self effort by members and legal-institutional assistance can alleviate the negative factors against the rational for cooperative management and sustain TFCs. This study identifies the management problems of TFCs. To provide the methods for increasing management efficiency, improving rational management skills, and hence to help revitalizing the rural economy with competitive power, 20 TFCs in Nonsan County is surveyed. The major findings are as follows; 1) According to the survey result of 20 trust farming corporations, investments on the accumulation of knowledges and information, accounting management, machinery management are required due to the present lack of management/accounting ability. There also exist problems associated with revenue sources, labor uses, and public recognition. To increase management efficiency under current situation, corporations should import active business plans with expanding farming execution and off-farm season business. 2) Based on the result of corporations' business analysis, more than 50% of the corporations were not able to provide profit dividends to the members. It suggests that trust farming corporations need appropriate and stable revenue sources to sustain business. It is also required that corporations should reduce their excessive expenditure on fixed assets. 3) Theoretical amounts of consignment fees for tillage operation, planting, and harvesting were found to be 338,874 won, 216,596 won, and 332,318 won, respectively. Although actual levels of fee are 110%~120% of these theoretical levels of consignment fee, corporations' expected fee levels could not be acheived because of competency of consignment market.
This study is aimed to analyze economical meaning and problems on the industrial differentiation of Korean laver industry. Based on the surveyed data, the export value of korean laver has increased over 28 times for last 20 years($10 million to $300 million) and the separation of farming and processing was an important success factor of rapid growth of korean laver industry. However, the result of the survey shows that the farming profit is 534.1 won out of the total price for a bunch of dried laver, 3,566.3 won. So, farming profit counts for just 15 percent of total price. In contrast, the processing profit is 1,143.5 won and it is 32.1 percent of total price. This means that laver farmers are not being guaranteed their profit properly. This phenomenon is occurred due to lower status of first-hand processors(which produce dried laver) to second-hand processors(which produce seasoned laver) due to advanced payment given by second-hand processors. So, fist-hand processors should provide their product in the price which was designated by second-hand processors. Besides, despite of many business risks caused from climate change and environmental pollution, the market price of raw laver has steadily decreased. For sustainable prosperity of korean laver industry, imbalance on korean laver industry concerning profit sharing is need to be changed. In future, self-processing of dried laver in fishery household and enhancing the role of The Fisheries Cooperative Union in laver industry can be considered.
The rapid change of business environments request the company to act more smart and intelligent in making business strategies and planning the business processes. To meet this requirement, we need to have smart Business Intelligent System(hereinafter "BI") in the company. On the one hand, many korean companies had already installed BI system, and the other hand some companies have plans to implement BI Systems additionally to their Information System. It is very important to have the pictures which factors are critical to the successful implementation of BI, and to survey which critical success factor(hereinafter CSF) are important compared to each factors. In this paper data was gathered from companies already have their BI Systems. We measured IT-Infra maturity, User Education, and Company Organization, and Company Business Strategy, which are the critical success factors for the BI System. After surveying the CSF of BI System, we measured the weights among these factors by AHP. Factor analysis resulted in 6 major factors (Eigenvalue > 1.0), and the AHP analysis showed the list of CSF's weight list according to its significance priorities. The results of this paper could be the valuable references for the implementing process of the BI System in korean company.

In order to effectively provide science, technology, engineering, and medicine (STEM) information, an analysis of information users' needs and understanding of information usage behavior must be preceded. Rapid changes and developments in information and communication technologies and the environment have greatly influenced the user's information usage environment. Based on the changes and characteristics of users' information use and their information needs analysis, active design and improvement of scientific and technical information service system is needed. For this study, a total of 816 participants participated: 204 people in four main contents (papers, reports, trends, and patents) through significant allocation extraction for STEM information users. A survey was conducted to grasp the status of the use of science and technology information using quantitative methods through online surveys for users of each content (papers, reports, trends, patents). Based on the analysis results, the implications for the improvement of STEM field information system were drawn.
For more than 50 years, satellite images have been used to monitor crop growth. Currently, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery is being assessed for analyzing within field spatial variability for agricultural precision management, because UAV imagery may be acquired quickly during critical periods of rapid crop growth. This study refers to the derivation of growth estimating equation for highland Kimchi cabbage using UAV derived normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and agro-meteorological factors. Anbandeok area in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, Korea is one of main districts producing highland Kimchi cabbage. UAV imagery was taken in the Anbandeok ten times from early June to early September. Meanwhile, three plant growth parameters, plant height (P.H.), leaf length (L.L.) and outer leaf number (L.N.), were measured for about 40 plants (ten plants per plot) for each ground survey. Six agro-meteorological factors include average temperature; maximum temperature; minimum temperature; accumulated temperature; rainfall and irradiation during growth period. The multiple linear regression models were suggested by using stepwise regression in the extraction of independent variables. As a result, $NDVI_{UAV}$ and rainfall in the model explain 93% of the P.H. and L.L. with a root mean square error (RMSE) of 2.22, 1.90 cm. And $NDVI_{UAV}$ and accumulated temperature in the model explain 86% of the L.N. with a RMSE of 4.29. These lead to the result that the characteristics of variations in highland Kimchi cabbage growth according to $NDVI_{UAV}$ and other agro-meteorological factors were well reflected in the model.
With rapid advances on Interactive technology, and the growing popularity of the Internet, Internet shopping receives considerable attention in both the popular-press and academic journals. The Internet has enormous commercial possibilities. But it is a new and dynamic medium that poses special challenges for marketers. The revolutionary nature of the Internet mandates that established wisdom on consumer marketing along with marketing-mix strategies has to be reexamined and perhaps radically revised. In order to assist marketers in this endeavor it is critical to understand consumers' buying behaviors of Internet shopping. But research in this area still very much its infancy. This study examined previous researches of Internet shopping and developed conceptual framework of Internet shopping modes. Additionally, this study examined empirical investigation of Internet shopping. Preliminary results suggests that there are significant differences in individuals' perceptions of Internet shopping and traditional shopping modes. Various factors influences on consumers' buying behavior on Internet shopping. There are Individuals' factors(personality, lifestyle, prior experience, perceived risk etc), shopping mall factors(trust, vividness, security, promotion, etc), product characteristics(product category, brand, etc), situational factors(time pressure, locational constraints etc), social/cultural factors(Norms, importance of other peoples etc). Additionally, We conducted empirical study of the impact of the Internet on consumer shopping behavior. We gathered consumers' reactions via an open-ended survey using a sample of 90 shoppers. We related the reactions to the factors of consumers' satisfaction or dissatisfaction of the Internet shopping. Consequently, there are many questions regarding factors that might influence Internet shopping. From theoretical and practical perspectives, studies that examine these factors would seem to offer much to the discipline. This paper has attempted th provide insights and direction of future empirical examination of Internet shopping.
The current economic environmental changes such as globalization, information and opening of the market is calling for or needing the more rapid change of management and/or marketing strategies of the company than they did before to survive in tile borderless international competition. Under this situation, this study focuses on the correspondence strategies of Electronic Commerce which is one of the key elements to overcome or lead the above demands through seeking the problems of the current EC acception and application specially in Chollabuk Do province. For the above purpose, this study surveys the questionary with business firms of above area and figures out what is the correlation between business form and size and EC acception and application and what is the problems on it. And than provides several counter strategies which are following based on the survey to keep this area companies from out of business and lead the above economic environmental changes. To expand the adoption and application of EC to this area, firstly, top managers of the company must recognize the necessity and importance of EC compared with traditional commerce and change their perception and attitude concerning EC positively, and than try to accept it as soon as possible. Secondly, the company need the retained earning to invest to EC and educate their managers and employees with total participation. Thirdly, local government has to improve its attention to EC as a best way or opportunity to reduce and overcome the economical gap and development its economy because EC can remove the physical time or distance and space, scale and capital limitations. Finally, government has to expand and establish information infrastructure such as technical infrastructure(communication and security technology), Functional infrastructure like standard protocol, Organizational infrastructure(interchange agreement, relative law) and social infrastructure to improve efficient electronic transaction which can Increase the company' international compatitiveness under the current economy trend.
Little research has been done to understand the dynamics of well-being among the oldest old, although Korea experiences a rapid increase of this population group. This study explored the effects of demographic characteristics, physical condition, stressful life events and worries on life satisfaction of aged 85 and over. The moderating effects of psychosocial resources in buffering the negative effects of the life events and worries on life satisfaction of this group were also examined. The survey data collected from 213 community residing aged 85 and over was used for analyses. Major findings are as follows. First, most frequent stressors of the oldest old were health related problems. Second, greater worries, higher income status, lower level of physical impairment, co-residence with adult children were significantly related to higher life satisfaction of the oldest old. Third, emotional support from adult children as well as self-esteem of the older persons had buffering effects on the relationship between worries and life satisfaction. According to the results, implications for practice and services to increase life satisfaction of the oldest old were discussed.
