DISSECTION TECHNIQUE FOR EFFICIENT JOIN OPERATION ON SEMI-STRUCTURED DOCUMENT STREAM

  • There has been much interest in stream query processing. Various index techniques and advanced join techniques have been proposed to efficiently process data stream queries. Previous proposals support rapid and advanced response to the data stream queries. However, the amount of data stream is increasing and the data stream query processing needs more speedup than before. In this paper, we proposed novel query processing techniques for large number of incoming documents stream. We proposed Dissection Technique for efficient query processing in the data stream environment. We focused on the dissection technique in join query processing. Our technique shows efficient operation performance comparing with the other proposal in the data stream. Proposed technique is applied to the sensor network system and XML database.

  • These days rapid improvement in Mobile phones and their multimedia limits made them powerful enough to manage complicated tasks. Image processing related support for mobile devices is extremely comprehensive in wireless telemedicine. A basic challenge is how to get best quality of image with the limited screen size and resources of mobile phones. This paper deals with image processing features (capturing rendering and zooming in and out) of Mobile Media API and Advanced Multimedia Supplements (MMAPI and AMS) developed for Mobile Java Platform and customized algorithm is designed to keep all image task cost efficient by using minimum device resources and memory. This scenario is driven by the need for evaluation of a distant patient that cannot be moved to the expert.

모바일 장치에서 에지 선택의 효율성 (Effectiveness of Edge Selection on Mobile Devices)

  • 본 논문은 모바일 환경 하에서 효과적인 그래프 기반의 이미지 분할 적용 시, 실행시간 및 메모리 사용량 향상시키고, 이를 이용해 surface layout의 전처리 작업으로 수퍼 픽셀을 얻기 위한 효율적인 방법을 제안한다. 그래프기반의 이미지 분할은 영상으로부터 오브젝트 영역을 추출하는 알고리즘으로 입력 영상의 각 화소 정보를 이용한 에지 생성 및 그래프를 구성한다. 그래프 구성 시 기준 화소 및 주변 화소 위치 정보 및 색상 강도 차이 값(edgeweight)을 이용하여 에지를 구성하며, 색상 강도 차이 값에 따른 문턱치 값을 기준으로 각 에지를 연결함으로써 객체 영역을 추출하고 있다. 따라서 에지의 수는 그래프 기반의 이미지 분할의 실행시간 및 메모리 사용량을 결정하게된다. 모바일 디바이스는 PC에 비해 프로세서 속도 및 메모리 사용량 등 하드웨어적인 제약사항이 많으며, 프로그램 응답 시간이 주요 이슈가 되고 있다. 이러한 모바일 디바이스 상의 영상 처리 기술 적용 시 빠른 프로그램 응답시간 제공은 반드시 이루어져야 하며, 이미지 분할 단계에서도 보다 빠른 응답 시간을 위한 프로세싱 시간과 메모리사용량을 줄여야만 한다. 본 논문은 그래프 상의 에지의 수를 효과적으로 선택하는 효과적인 에지 선택 알고리즘 적용을 통해 그래프 기반의 이미지 분할 알고리즘을 모바일 디바이스에 적용 시, 프로세싱 시간 및 메모리 사용량의 개선을 보이도록 하고, 수퍼 픽셀 당 정확도가 입력영상 사이즈에 관계없이 70%이상 생성되며, 그 정확도가 96%동일하다는 것을 보인다.

급냉응고된 Mg-Zn계 합금의 기계적 성질 (Mechanical Properties of Rapidly Solidified Mg-Zn Base Alloys)

  • Interest in rapid solidification of magnesium alloys stems from the fact that conventional ingot metallurgy alloys exhibit poor strength, ductility, and corrosion resistance. Such properties can be improved by microstructural refinement via rapid solidification processing. Mg-5wt%Zn alloys have been produced as continuous strips by melt overflow technique and the strips were consolidated by hot extrusion. The yield stress, tensile strengh and ductility obtained in asextruded Mg-5wt%Zn alloy were ${\sigma}_{0.2}=152\;MPa$, ${\sigma}_{T.S{\cdot}}=263\;MPa$ and ${\varepsilon}=21.8%$. In order to evaluate the influence of additional elements on mechanical properties, Th and Zr were added in rapidly solidified Mg-5wt%Zn alloy. An 130% increase in yield stress of as-extruded Mg-5wt%Zn-3wt%Th-1wt%Zr alloy was attributed to grain refinement by rapid solidification and elemental addition.

고속 냉각 특성을 가진 사출성형 금형 코어 제작 및 사출 성형 (Fabrication of Cores for the Injection Mould with a High Cooling Rate and Injection Molding Using the Fabricated Core)

  • The objective of this paper is to investigate into the fabrication technology of cores for the injection mould with three-dimensional conformal cooling channels to reduce the cooling time. The location of the conformal cooling channels has been determined through the injection molding analysis. The mould has been manufactured from a hybrid rapid tooling technology, which is combined a direct metal rapid tooling with a machining process. Several injection molding experiments have been performed to examine the productivity and the validity of the designed mould. From the results of the experiments, it has been shown that the proposed mould can mold a final product within a cooling time of 3 seconds and a cycle time of 21 seconds, respectively.

  • In case of thin-wall two-color injection molding, flashing often occurs when molten polymer flows into small gap at the parting line in mold with high pressure or under the unbalanced clamping force condition. In this study, flashing was examined in the production of thin-wall notebook case with large area when the rapid heat cycle molding (RHCM) technology was applied to the two-color injection molding. The effects of the RHCM technology on the part properties and weld-lines were compared with conventional injection molding. The flashing caused by the clamping device of the two-color injection molding machine was examined and compared by experiments and CAE analyses.

  • The implementation of rapid prototyping technologies has been developed for automotive engineering by utilizing concurrent engineering principes integrated with slective laser sintering. The Selective Laser Sintering, in which a part is generated in layers form powder using a computer-controlled laser scanning apparatus and power feed system. An over view of the basic principles of SLS Machine operation is given. Binding mechanisms are described for power which becomes thermally activated bye the scanning laser beam; viscous flow and melting of a low-melting-point phase in powder. The production of parts from metal is described, including post processing to improve structural integrity and induce a transformation.

  • The rapid thermal response (RTR) molding is a novel process developed to raise the temperature of mold surface rapidly to the polymer melt temperature prior to the injection stage and then cool rapidly to the ejection temperature. The resulting filling process is achieved inside a hot mold cavity by prohibiting formation of frozen layer so as to enable thin wall injection molding without filling difficulty. The present work covers flow simulation of thin wall injection molding using the RTR molding process. In order to take into account the effects of thermal boundary conditions of the RTR mold, coupled analysis with transient heat transfer simulation is suggested and compared with conventional isothermal analysis. The proposed coupled simulation approach based on solid elements provides reliable thin wall flow estimation for both the conventional molding and the RTR molding processes.

VLM-ST공정의 정밀도 향상을 위한 알고리즘 개발 (Development of Algorithms for Accuracy Improvement in Transfer-Type Variable Lamination Manufacturing Process using Expandable Polystrene Foam)

  • In order to reduce the lead-time and cost, the technology of rapid prototyping (RP) has been widely used. A new rapid prototyping process, transfer-type variable lamination manufacturing process by using expandable polystyrene foam (VLM-ST), has been developed to reduce building time, apparatus cost and additional post-processing. At the same time, VLM Slicer, the CAD/CAM software for VLM-ST has been developed. In this study, algorithms for accuracy improvement of VLM-ST, which include offset and overrun of a cutting path and generation of a reference shape are developed. Offset algorithm improves cutting accuracy, overrun algorithm enables the VLM-ST process to make a shape of sharp edge and reference shape generation algorithm adds additional shape which makes off-line lamination easier. In addition, proposed algorithms are applied to practical CAD models for verification.

모델재료와 SLA 시금형을 이용한 터빈블레이드 열간단조공정의 모사실험 (Experiment of Turbine Blade Hot Forging Process using Model Material and SLA Prototype Die Set)

  • In this paper, an experimental study of a hot forging process is carried out using plasticine and the die set manufactured with the aid of rapid prototyping. In order to manufacture the die set, Stereolithography Apparatus(SLA) which is most widely used rapid prototyping system is introduced. Turbine blade forging is performed using palsticine and the SLA prototype die set. Through the experiment, it has been shown that SLA prototype is suitable to the die set for the plasticine workpiece, and the formability and the forming load of turbine blade forging are predicted.
