  • In concrete incorporating high volume ground granulated blast-furnace slag that has frozen at early age, to evaluated the results of resistance to freezing and thawing is very difficult because the hydration of the concrete increases over the duration of rapid freezing and thawing test. Hence, the dynamic modulus of elasticity of specimens after freezing and thawing will be favorable results unless the hydration effect is taken into consideration. In this study, a method of evaluating to the resistance to freezing and thawing of concrete subjected freezing at early age, in which the effect of hydration is modified for its increase during rapid freezing and thawing test, is investigated.

  • In general, the deterioration induced by the freezing and thawing cyclic in concrete structures often leads to the reduction in concrete durability by the cracking or surface spalling. If it can prediction of concrete deterioration subjected to cyclic freezing and thawing, we can rationally do the design of mix proportion in view of concrete durability and the maintenance management of concrete structures. Therefore in this study a prediction method of deterioration for concrete structures subjected to the irregular freezing and thawing is proposed from the results of accelerated laboratory freezing and thawing test using the constant temperature condition and the in-situ weathering data. Furthermore, to accurately predict the concrete deterioration, a method of modification for the effect of hydration increasing during rapid freezing and thawing test is investigated.

기중 급속 동결 융해 시험 방법에 따른 철근콘크리트 보의 성능 실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance of RC Beam according to the Rapid Freezing and Thawing Test Method in the Air)

  • 콘크리트 구조물은 외부 극한기후환경에 노출 될 경우 공용년수가 증가할수록 다양한 문제점들이 발생할 수 있다. 이러한 문제들 중 최근 가장 문제가 되고 있는 폭우, 폭설과 같은 극한 기후요소의 작용으로 동결융해 현상이 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 서울의 경우, 동결융해가 발생하는 기간 동안에 매우 건조한 날씨를 나타내기 때문에 KS F 2456 를 참고하여 콘크리트의 기중 급속 동결 융해 시험법을 제시하였다. 콘크리트 공시체 및 철근콘크리트 휨 부재를 제작하여 0, 100, 200, 300 사이클의 기중 급속 동결 융해를 수행하였으며 성능 평가를 통해 각 실험체의 재료 및 부재 단위에서의 성능 저하를 확인하였다. 300사이클까지 기중 급속 동결 융해를 수행한 설계 강도 24 MPa의 콘크리트 압축 강도는 5.24 MPa(21%) 만큼 감소하며, 기중 급속 동결 융해가 진행될수록 콘크리트의 재료적 강도 감소에 의해 철근콘크리트 휨 부재의 철근의 응력 부담이 증가되어 지진과 같은 외력 발생에 따른 구조물의 에너지 흡수(소산) 능력이 감소한다.

  • After researching the physical properties of the concrete included Rice Husk Ash(RHA concrete) and workability of fresh concrete admixed RHA, we have tested durability of RHA-concrete against freeaing and thawing in the winter using rapid freezing and thawing test method(KS F 2456) . There aretwo hypotheses to explain the failure mechanism of a freezing and thawing action. First, the hydraulic pressure in the pores of freezing concrete make an internal stress of concrete structures outbreaking micro crack in the face of concrete, Second, Frost action causing damage to cement paste repeatedly come from soil frost action, freezing water in the capillaries. Initial Relative Dynamic Modulus of Elasticity (DME) was biggest in cae of unit binder weight 600kgf/㎥ and relative dynamic modulus of elasticity increased until 300cycles. In general , initial relative DME was proportional to unit binder weight . Relative DME was decreased in proportion to unit binder weight in the case of 300, 400, 500kgf/㎥ , but relative DME fo the others remained more than 90% until 300 cycles. It was not good effect of intermixed RHA to concrete in case of below unit binder weight 300kgf/㎥ and the resistance of freezing and thawing was not good either.

Mouse 수정란의 급속동결에 관한 연구 제II보 Mouse수정란 급속동결에 있어서 수정란의 발육단계와 식빙(seeding)이 생존율에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Rapid Freezing of Mouse Embryo II. Effects of the Development Stage and Seeding on the Mouse Embryo Survival of Rapid Freezing)

  • The effects of seeding method and optimum time for freezing embryos according to the developmental stages on embryo survival rates after rapid freezing were determined using the FDA-test. The summarized results are as follows : 1. In the rapid freezing of embryos, the sucrose added medium together with Co-seeding or non-seeding showed the FDA scores of 4.67 and 4.20, respectively, but, raffinose addition obtained FDA scores of 4.27 and 3.97. 2. The developmental stage of embryos at freezing was most critical on the survival of embryos after thawing. Higher FDA scores were obtained in the order of blastocyst stage(4.94), morula stage(3.82) and ealy stage(2.65) in sucrose added medium. The same trend was observed in the raffinose added medium with an order or 4.91, 4.47 and 2.32. 3. Microscopic study of embryo before freezing and post-thawing indicated that the embryo showed shrinkage within 5 minutes after the embryo was transfer to the freezing medium. When thawed embryo was tranfered to the dilution medium, swelling of the embryo was observed and there after it reshrank indicating the removal of cryoprotectant from the embryo. The size of the embryo recovered to the original state when it was moved into a PBS-solution.

소 수정란의 간이 동결기법 개발에 관한 연구 II. 내동제의 평형시간, 융해온도, 융해시간 및 1단계 Straw법이 체외발생에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Development of Easy Cryopreservation Technique of Bovine Embryos II. Effects of Equilibration of Cryoprotectants, Temperature and Time of Thawing and 1 Step Straw Method on In Vitro Developmental Rates of Embryos)

  • The studies on the carried out to investigate to determine the optimum thawing temperature and equilibration time and 1 step straw method of frozen bovine embryos. The follicular oocytes were cultured in TCM-199 medium containing 10 IU/ml PMSG(Sigma, USA), 10 IU/ml hCG(Sigma, USA), 1 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml $\beta$-estradiol(Sigma, USA) and 10% FCS for 24~48 hrs in incubator with 5% CO2 in air at 38.5$^{\circ}C$ and then matured oocytes were again cultured for 12~18 hrs with motile capacitated sperm by preincubation of heparin. The bovine embryos following dehydration by cryoprotective agents and various concentration of sucrose were directly plunged into liquid nitrogen and thawed in 3$0^{\circ}C$ water. Survival and in vitro developmental rate was defined as developmental rate on in vitro culture or FDA-test. The results are summarized as followes : 1. The equilibration time on in vitro developmental rates of bovine embryos was attained after short period of time(2.5~5 min.) in the freezing medium higher than long period of time (10~20 min.). 2. The temperature thawed at 3$0^{\circ}C$ after rapid freezing of bovine embryos resulted in a significantly higher in vitro developmental rate than did at 2$0^{\circ}C$ and 35$^{\circ}C$. 3. The thawing time on in vitro developmental rates of bovine embryos was attained after short period of time(1~5 min.) in the freezing mediuim higher than long period of time(10min.). 4. The in vitro developmental rates of bovine embryos after rapid frozen-thawing by 1 step straw method in the freezing medium added 1.5M, 2.0M glycerol, DMSO, propanediol and 0.25M, 0.50M, 0.75M, 1.00M sucrose were 12.5~19.4%, 10.0~15.6%, 9.1~13.8% and 6.7~12.9%, respectively.

보수용 초속경 폴리머 모르타르의 역학적 특성 (Mechanical Properties of Very Rapid Hardening Polymer Mortar for Concrete Repair)

  • 본 연구에서는 초속경 폴리머 모르타르의 역학적 특성이 평가되었다. 이를 위해 총 75개의 모르타르 시편에 대한 압축강도, 휨강도, 부착강도, 동결융해, 길이변화, 그리고 흡수율 시험이 실시되었다. 실험결과로부터 초속경 폴리머 모르타르의 부착강도는 일반 콘크리트보다 50 % 정도 우수하였으며, 동결융해에 대한 저항성은 보통콘크리트보다 뛰어났다. 또한 초속경 폴리머 모르타르의 길이변화와 흡수율은 20 % 정도 일반콘크리트보다 작았다. 그 결과 초속경 폴리머 모르타르는 콘크리트 구조물의 균열을 보수하는데 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 평가되었다.

  • This experiment was carried out to investigate effects of DMSO or ethylene glycol as a cryopotectant and of freezing methods on survival rate of forozen-thawed rat 2-cell embryos by morphological observation. 2-cell embryos were recovered from oviducts of Sprague Dawley females mated with males of same strain on day 2 of pregnancy after inducing superovulation by intrapertioneal injection of PMSG and HCG. In slow freezing and thawing groups, embryos were frozen to -79$^{\circ}C$ or -196$^{\circ}C$ in a glass test tube containing 0.2ml PBI with 1.5M DMSO or 1.2M ethylene glycol at a rate of 0.3-1.0C/min. and thawed slowly. When samples were frozen to -79$^{\circ}C$, higher survival rate was obtained in the medium containing DMSO (43.9%) than ethylene glycol (41%). And similar result was obtained (32.5% in DMSO vs. 31.4% in ethylene glycol) when samples were frozen. In rapid freezing and thawing groups, embryos were frozen to -79 or -196$^{\circ}C$ in a glass test tube containing 0.2ml of PBI with 1.5M DMSO or 1.2M ethylene glycol by rapid cooling, and thawed rapidly. When samples were frozen to -79$^{\circ}C$, 1.5M DMSO (13.2%) was more effective than 1.2M ethylene glycol (6.1%). When the storage temperature was -196$^{\circ}C$, survival rates were 9.8% in 1.5M and 5.4% in 1.2M ethylene glycol.

  • In this paper, The evaluation of durability of the PC Panel lining for tunnel structure was examined through the rapid test by carbonation and freezing and thawing. Also for the purpose of improvement of durability. Namely, the durable characteristics of PC Panel lining by carbonation and freezing and thawing, was evaluated by rapid test and long-term field exposure test and main influence factors were derived. As a result of test, Correlation of accelerating test in deterioration chamber and long-term field exposure test, it will be expected that the proposed correlation well to the prediction of life expectancy of structure and is contributed greatly in the future.

차염성 저발열시멘트의 급속동결융해 저항성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on Resistance of rapid Freezing and Thawing of Chloride-inhibiting Low-Heat Cement)

  • 이 연구는 겨울철 동결융해 작용으로 인한 차염성 저발열시멘트(CLC)의 내구성을 알아보고자 수행하였다. 내구성 문제는 현장여건에 따라 다소 차이는 있으나, 계절변화에 따른 반복적인 동결융해작용에 의한 콘크리트의 동해는 내구성 저하의 대표적 현상이라 할 수 있으며, 겨울철 동결융해를 받는 콘크리트는 내부에서 큰 팽창력이 발생되어 콘크리트 균열, 표면 박리, 골재 이탈 등의 파손현상을 보이게 된다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 개발된 차염성 저발열시멘트(CLC)의 동결융해 저항성에 따른 내구성 지수를 알아보기 위해 차염성 저발열시멘트(CLC)와 현재 많이 사용되고 있는 고로슬래그시멘트(BFS), 보통 포틀랜드시멘트(OPC)을 각각 물/시멘트비 35%, 40%, 45% 을 변수로 하여 배합을 실시 하여 공시체를 제작하였다. 제작된 공시체를 KS F 2456(급속동결 융해에 대한 콘크리트의 저항 시험방법)방법에 따라 동결융해 시험을 실시하여 상대 동탄성 계수를 측정하였으며, 측정된 상대동탄성 계수를 가지고 내구성지수를 도출하였다. 내구성 지수를 비교 분석한 결과 차염성 저발열시멘트(CLC), 고로슬래그 시멘트(BFS), 보통 포틀랜드 시멘트(OPC) 모두 우수한 내구성 지수를 나타내는 것으로 확인 되었다.
