  • Interlocking signalling system plays key role as core system to manage railway operation. The core role of railway operation is to control routing, displaying signal and regulation for train. Interlocking system relate tightly to railway accident because collision and derailment is sometime taken place wrong route setting and signal displaying. Safety activity for interlocking system is inevitable to avoid the accident over its life cycle. The safety activity includes hazard identification and analysis, safety requirement allocation, safety plan, safety activity and ao on. The safety activity need a broad wide range work. In this paper, we concentrate on hazard identification for generic interlocking system and programmable electronic interlocking system and compare between two results. The hazards will be used for safety activity.

  • Recently, the high speed train was operated and then the train system's reliability requirements are growing more and more. The exact prediction simulation is necessary in the design of power feeding system by the increase of railway electrification. In order to develope the AC feeding system analysis technology, real-time power simulator was manufactured. It is composed to eight channels analog input, forty channels analog output and forty-eight channels digital I/O. The size of simulator rack is 19" and the two I/O boards are installed the PXI chassis built into the real time os. The signal I/O is possible through BNC connector. The test results of manufactured simulator are obtained that the error range of analog I/O signal is below 1 % and simulation condition is set to 1 ms and the simulation output of the analog output compares the results of the simulator.

  • The main aim of the paper is the study of the surge voltages in electric railway signal security system. Hence these studies will provide means of introducing a suitable protective device insulating transformer. This influences the surge voltage interrupting capacity using surge arresters and bypass capacitors. This circuit can be used for investigating surge phenomenon in electric railway signal security system. In this paper a insulating transformer has been introduced for the reduction of surge voltages in the above circuit model and performance evaluation.

  • Recently many new subway lines and light rail lines are demanded to build as CBTC system for advanced transportation needs. Already several lines are being installed and some other are planned this days. In early 2008, the first korean CBTC project, Bundang Line Intelligent Train Control System was finished successfully then it showed that many advantage of its functionalities to demonstrate. Nowaday, the technology of CBTC in Korea is not standing alone by itself yet, even though a lot of localization was done last decade include ATS (Automatic Train Supervision) and Radio Communication and manufactures and installations, because the core equipment of CBTC is rely on oversea technologies of major railway signal companies. KRRI has been preparing to develop the core equipment of CBTC (wayside ATP and onboard ATO/ATP) with other 14 local railway signal companies. Now they have consisted two consortiums to develop the core equipment by themselves. In this paper, I will mention about how we should focus on the output for viewpoint of interpretabilities between the two groups and review the case study of front developers efforts considering to standardizations we should be following.

But with rapid progress in high-speed, massive, high-frequency transit fresh idea of accident prevention is now in order. In quest of effective and efficient countermeasure, we aim to establish an adequate safety evaluation/management method. Our proposals are basic concept relating to safety analysis of fatal accidents, AHP of Saaty, Fuzzy AHP.

  • This study examined EM compatibility between noise from electric railway and signal of ILS in the case that an AC double track system is located about 1km far from end zone of runway at the airport. ILS is the most major equipment to help give airplane route during the landing.

  • This paper presents a modeling of railway facilities based on object-oriented software development technique for train operation simulation program. Railway network is decomposed by Line Structure Model and Signal System Model which can be composed to make the train routes and train performance calculation. A brief explanation of class design about these model is provided.

  • In this Paper, it has a proposal of the RFID(RFID : Radio Frequency Identification) system for high-speed recognition between the tag attached a mobile object moving high-speed and the static reader. It used 13.56MHz frequency at ISM band, and designed a reader in order to recognize a mobile object moving high-speed. It will be expected that RFID system enables a smooth railway signal control applying in railway system through the cyclic loop antenna.

  • In this paper, comments on the needs of establishment of railway test line - capable of mid and long term performance evaluation of vehicle/infra/electricity/signal component/system - are described. Based on the previous studies, national/social/economic needs, the states of similar lines of foreign countries, concept of test line, and basic application plan are summarized. Especially, core things needed to the establishment of test line are commented.
