  • Safety of railroad is result of reliability which is received from test & evaluation of system. Railroad system is consisted of various sub system such as vehicle, supply of electric power, signal, communication, rail track construction, operation. To secure safety of railroad, evaluation about parts, assembly, sub system, whole system etc.. that compose railroad is essential. In this paper, I wish to describe for results that analyze korean tilting vehicle's derailment coefficient developed by national research achievement. Confirmed that is possible even if speed up, curved line department running speed that estimate korean tilting vehicle's running safety in curved line track of Jungang Line about 20 km/h than present operating speed.

  • LIMs propelling the MAGLEV which has been developed in Korea have 3-series and 2-parallel connection, so that 6 LIMs per one vehicle are fed by one inverter. Thrust performance of the parallel-operated LIMs can be different from each other because of variant magnetic air gaps and electrical impedance. The thrust difference between the parallel LIMs cause a twist force on the vehicle. This paper proposes an algorithm to measure thrust of the parallel-operated LIMs. The method uses a digital signal processor(TMS320F2812), voltage and current sensors. As a result, thrust, flux and currents of the parallel-operated small LIMs which are manufactured in our laboratory are monitored by the developed measurement system.

  • It is known that bogie frame must have sufficient stiffness for car body and passenger weight and transfer traction and braking force, and as of today most studies and verifications are restricted to static and fatigue analysis for force acted on bogie frame. Bogie frame is mounted with equipments to control the signal, traction and so on, this equipment's behavior is subjected to vibration mode occurs on running condition. If the resonance occurs on this equipment, the possibility of crack occurrence on bracket connected with equipment and bogie frame will be increased. In this paper, the method of vibration strength verification for bracket attached on bogie frame will be introduced by using frequency response method.

  • Urban transit is a large scale complex system which combines rolling stocks, power supply, signal communications, tracks & stations. Therefore standardization is very important because it is difficult to find causes when failures or accidents occur. The standardization of urban transit increases safety and economical efficiency, and also gives passengers convenient and comfortable feeling. We, Korea Railroad Research Institute(KRRI), had finished the 1st phase study of urban transit standardization from '95 to '06. And 2nd phase study on rolling stock, information & communication, subway station has been performed from July '07. In this paper, we introduce what we study on urban transits standardization during coming 5 years. We expect our study will contribute to increase the efficiency of urban transit.

  • Since standardization project is composed of complicate system, such as vehicle, signal, electric power and railway, how to build management system of the project has influence on the success of the project for the first stage of the project. The computer system design tool supports to carry out requirement analysis, DB construction, and history and follow-up management efficiently. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the method to optimize schema using computer system design tool.

  • 철로를 구성하는 요소 중 하나인 선로전환기는 열차의 궤도를 변경하는 부품 중 하나로써, 열차가 주행 중에 인접한 다른 선로로 주행방향을 전환할 때 사용된다. 철로운영 지침서에 따르면 내구수명 10년 혹은 전환횟수 20만회를 선로전환기의 교체시점으로 권고하고 있으나, 실제 현장에서는 예산문제 등으로 인하여 잘 지켜지지 않는 것이 현실이다. 또한, 선로전환기에 관한 연구 문헌들에서도 선로전환기의 교체시기에 관한 학술적 실용적 차원의 연구 결과를 찾아볼 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 선로전환기의 전류 적분 값을 이용하여 선로전환기의 교체 시점을 결정하는 시스템을 제안한다. 제안된 시스템은 실제 현장에서 선로전환기의 교체시기를 판별하는 유용한 지표로 사용될 것으로 기대된다.

Angle-Range-Polarization Estimation for Polarization Sensitive Bistatic FDA-MIMO Radar via PARAFAC Algorithm

  • In this paper, we study the estimation of angle, range and polarization parameters of a bistatic polarization sensitive frequency diverse array multiple-input multiple-output (PSFDA-MIMO) radar system. The application of polarization sensitive array in receiver is explored. A signal model of bistatic PSFDA-MIMO radar system is established. In order to utilize the multi-dimensional structure of array signals, the matched filtering radar data can be represented by a third-order tensor model. A joint estimation of the direction-of-departure (DOD), direction-of-arrival (DOA), range and polarization parameters based on parallel factor (PARAFAC) algorithm is proposed. The proposed algorithm does not need to search spectral peaks and singular value decomposition, and can obtain automatic pairing estimation. The method was compared with the existing methods, and the results show that the performance of the method is better. Therefore, the accuracy of the parameter estimation is further improved.

  • This paper describes the method of how to improve the probability of the tracing stopping ratio which is the most important factor in Automatic Train Operation (ATO). Aspects of improving the performance of automatic driving, the followings are investigated and studied : the interface between the signal system and the vehicle, the need to improve braking system, test method of blending brakes, how to minimize the delay of commands for real-time control.   • The Maglev travels at levitated status from the rail in some gab (about $8\sim10mm$). it make difference with the existing subway or the another LRV. The detection method of the train speed and the train position to be used at Maglev's signaling system differ with the existing subway or the another LRV's. so, the signal system construction of the new method is necessary. This paper describes the configuration and characteristic of the total signaling system (TTC/Wayside/Cab/Guide way system etc.) developed for Maglev, and the design concept of the signaling system based on the latest wireless LAN communication for driverless operation.
