철도차량 운행속도에 따른 기관사의 인지과정 분석 (Cognitive Process of Railway Drivers at Different Speeds)

  • The objective of this study is to verify the hypothesis that cognitive process of railway drivers would be influenced by train speed. The hypothesis is tested by investigating railway drivers' cognitive processes at different speeds of a locomotion. The experiment shows that human performance of railway drivers decreases as the train speed becomes faster. In addition, simple signals outperformed complex signals at every train speed. Therefore, it is suggested to redesign complex signals simpler for improving drivers' human performance. It is also recommended that the Korean railway safety law should be revised to mention requirement of the signal design, especially for the fastest train including KTX. The implications of the experiments are discussed in detail.

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest Korean regulatory requirements of railway drivers' qualifications. The qualification of railway drivers is one of major factors that should be managed to reduce human error induced incidents/accidents. We have collected those domestic/foreign cases for suggesting Korean regulatory requirements of railway drivers' qualifications. And we have analysed them to derive some regulatory requirements reducing human error. Finally, we have done preliminary FGI(focused group interview) to vitrificate and validate the regulatory requirements.

  • This study was performed to evaluate the whole-vibration of the subway drivers. Measurement, evaluation and assessment were based on the ISO 2631. When the vibration levels of the drivers are compared with the health guidance caution zones of the ISO 2631, those of the drivers of the rail maintenance train and the number 3 subway line exceed the limit of the health guidance zones, while those of the drivers of other subway lines drivers are below the limit. This indicates that the rail maintenance train drivers are exposed to potential health risks.

  • 본 연구는 철도기관사를 대상으로 성격특성 요인인 자기효능감, 내적통제위치, 그리고 조직기반 자긍심이 직무스트레스, 직무만족 및 사고와 어떤 관련이 있는지 살펴보는데 주된 목적을 두고 수행되었다. 현직기관사 212명의 설문에 대해 통계분석을 행한 결과, 무사고 기관사의 경우 성격요인이 직무스트레스 요인과의 상호작용을 통해 직무만족을 높이거나 낮추는 유의한 조절작용을 수행한다는 사실이 검증되었다. 이는 사고경험자와 무사고자 간에 성격요인이 일정한 설명력을 지니는 판별변수라는 사실을 의미하는 것으로 향후 기관사의 선발과정에서 성격요인의 철저한 검증이 그만큼 중요함을 시사하는 부분이다.

  • The purpose of this article is to comparatively depict the organizational effectiveness of two rail firms based on the cognitive response of employees(group of drivers). To attain this purpose, several aspects of current personnel and organization management system and organizational culture are surveyed through questionaire and analyzed by SPSS. The questionaire includes two parts of items. First, it includes items on personnel-related factors such as evaluation system, job, wage, role, leadership and job satisfaction. Second, it includes items on organizational culture model suggested by Rousseau. The major findings are : 1) In general, the cognitive response of drivers in two firms concerning personnel-related aspects is to a certain degree negative. 2) The cognitive response of drivers in two firms concerning culture-related aspects is also awfully negative. 3) Job satisfaction of drivers in the firm A is highly related to role and leadership factors in terms of personnel-related aspects, on the one hand, and to achievement factor in terms of culture, on the other hand. In case of the firm B, job satisfaction of drivers is highly related to personnel evaluation factor as well as role and leadership factors in terms of personnel-related aspects, on the one hand, and to affiliation, power, and bureaucracy factors in terms of culture, on the other hand.

  • The launch of KTX (Korea Train Express) has brought the changes of people's life. People can get more time to work or enjoy leisure comfortably because the transfer time is decreased. According to these changes, the role of normal trains and express trains' drivers is getting more important. The purpose of this study is to suggest the advanced vision of Korean railway through comparing the domestic driver's qualification requirements of normal trains and express trains with international ones which are more developed.

  • 도심 통근용 지하철은 출퇴근시간에 기관사 한 사람이 맡고 있는 인원이 약3,000명 이상에 달하여 비상상황 발생 시 기관사의 조치 능력에 따라 수많은 사람들의 생명과 재산이 좌우된다. 2003년 2월 대구지하철 화재 참사 이래 철도에서의 안전 확보가 사회문제화되어 이를 개선하고자 2004년 10월 철도안전법이 제정되고 철도종사자의 핵심인 기관사의 면허제가 도입되어 2006년 7월부터 시행되었다. 본 연구는 기관사 면허제가 시행되어 8년이 지난 이 시점에서 운전업무에 종사하는 기관사들과 이들 상급자들의 인식조사를 통하여 기관사 면허제의 시행효과를 경험적으로 규명해보고자 한다. 또한, 통계 분석을 통하여 면허제의 시행효과를 더 높일 수 있는 방안들을 찾아 정책적 제안을 하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of this article is to find out and analyze the diverse factors that are incurring stress to the railway drivers, and to depict the relationship among personality, job stress, job satisfaction, and accidents. To attain this purpose, the authors designed the questionnaire based on in-depth interview, scrutinized the factors of stressors, and statistically tested the study themes on the moderating effects of Personality Factors such as Locus of Control, Self-Efficacy, and Organization-Based Self Esteem on the relationship between Job Stressors and Job Satisfaction/Accidents, for the 212 samples received from KORAIL, Seoul Metro, and Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit. Resultedly, one of the findings indicate that certain aspects of a driver's personalities, as measured by locus of control, self-efficacy, and organization-based self esteem play important roles in predicting the level of job satisfaction, job stress and accidents.

친환경 에너지 절약을 위한 열차운전 최적화 연구 (A Study on the Train Operation Optimization for Energy Saving)

  • In line with the expansion of electric railway, reducing carbon emission and optimal train operation are required by economical, eco-friendly and efficient management. Most of the energy consumption in electric railway is consumed by train operation. So it is important that minimize the energy consumption in train operation. An analysis of the operation performance of the new model vehicle which in South Korea, Korail introduced shows that the energy consumption is different in line with the skill level of the engine driver. In this study, the know-how of train operation of a skilled engine driver is systematized by using artificial intelligence, and the technique which supports engine drivers with train operation was offered. As a result of applying in South Korea, the Gyeongbu line by using simulation, it confirmed that the maximum 20% can reduce the energy consumption in comparison with unskilled engine drivers in case of applying the Expert System.
