지속가능한 발전을 위한 궤도시스템의 LCA기법 적용 연구 (Application of LCA technique to railway track system for sustainable development)

  • In this study, Among various rail track systems, Ballast and concrete track system of Seoul-Busan High-speed Line was adopted to quantify the amount of environment load through the LCA technique. It was intended to compare the results of both track systems through investigating life cycle inventory and gathering the material and energy flows of each track system. With applying the LCA technique to railway infrastructure, which simple maintenance was considered in the past, fundamental technology can be established for the sustainable development in the railway construction industry.

  • Recently it is a tendency that Diesel rolling stock is committing in the commuter's train route of the suburb for solving commuting traffic congestion. It has advantage which expense of diesel rolling stock is relatively cheaper than electric rail car or high-speed train. In addition, it can be using the exist route without large-scale facility investment. Because of this advantage, the demand of diesel rolling stock occupy regular portion from overseas railway car market. GM/RT 2100 specifies the loads vehicle bodies shall be capable of withstanding, identifies how material data shall be used and presents the principles to be used for design verification by analysis. Therefore, in order to fulfill the structural requirements, Rotem Company has carried out Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to verify whether the carbody structure has enough strength to withstand the loads specified by GM/RT 2100. This research contains the results obtained by the analysis. The analysis was carried out using I-DEAS 12 NX Series

  • Recently Sucessive progress in train technic has enabled us to constructed high-speed railways for ourselves. This caused more rapid train more pressure on a track and speedier track break-down. Especially in the construction of high-speed rails for high-speed traveling and safety accurate breaking distance is essential and not only computation of rolling resistance in theory but also verification through real measurement are important in basic material for breaking and starting load caused during the train running. In this study, we measured traveling resistance and calculated traveling resistance formula in the case of the SAEMA-EUL which consists of main part of current passenger trains and frights in this country.

  • Eddy current is usually generated in material with high conductivity by time-varying source such as AC current and also is induced in the moving source with relative velocity. The contactless magnetic brakes make use of the braking force from the eddy current generated by moving source and currently used for the secondary brakes of heavy trucks, buses and rail vehicles. This study aims to design the magnetization pattern of a permanent magnet type eddy current brake system to maximize the braking force. The analysis of the brake system is based on the two-dimensional finite element analysis. We use the sequential linear programming as the optimizer and the adjoint variable method for the sensitivity analysis.

  • The track is an important component of rail structures. The characteristic of the track settlement must be confirmed in order to evaluate the stability of the track. It is effected by action load and the characteristic of the track material. This study investigates the mechanism of the track settlement and the effect of initial settlement and long-term settlement on the characteristic of the track settlement through literature survey. It tries to observe the future research direction of track settlement.

  • CWR technology is generally believed to contribute to the increase of train speed and bring a variety of significant advantages, such as the decrease in track works, noise and vibration as well as the improvement of passenger comfort. In CWR technology, welding is considered to be one of the most important element technologies. Among the various welding methods, gas pressure welding is the most frequently used in vicinity of train line station since the operation is simple and the instruments are not heavy. The gas pressure welding is constructed exactly by good manual book on which simple and excellent welding methods is written and has the same performance as raw material. But this can be poor in the variety of the processing of rail end surface to be welded, the control of oxyacetylene flame and axil compressive force. This study tries to describe the characteristics of gas pressure welding, defect-causing factors and preventive counterplan of defects

  • When the high speed train (KTX) departs from station in the high-speed line, intermittent on-board signal disappearance causes a hindrance of the operation punctuality. Therefore, we have a research objective to verify the causes of hindrance and to find an improvement plan. process of research, when train leaves the station, we applied sand on the rail to improve adhesive power, that sand has an effect on the ATC(Automatic Train Control) signal wave. We detected & analyzed signal waves which is came from detecting device by changing operation condition in accordance with sand material overage detection to be achieved.

  • The CWR of the plate girder bridges in non-ballast causes the additional axial force on the rail and the bearing due to the temperature axial force and the interaction between the CWR and bridges. This study shows the remarkable improvement of reducing the axial force of the CWR on the non-ballast bridge, compared to conventional methods. New method, which is differently designed in terms of longitudinal semi-rigid bearing, reduces the axial force on the bearing by making the girder act both directions. This method is applicable to most cases of bridges regardless of the restriction of length, and useful to reduce the abrasion and damage of the track material.

Bending and buckling of a rectangular porous plate

  • A rectangular plate made of a porous material is the subject of the work. Its mechanical properties vary continuously on the thickness of a plate. A mathematical model of this plate, which bases on nonlinear displacement functions taking into account shearing deformations, is presented. The assumed displacement field, linear geometrical and physical relationships permit to describe the total potential energy of a plate. Using the principle of stationarity of the total potential energy the set of five equilibrium equations for transversely and in-plane loaded plates is obtained. The derived equations are used for solving a problem of a bending simply supported plate loaded with transverse pressure. Moreover, the critical load of a bi-axially in-plane compressed plate is found. In both cases influence of parameters on obtained solutions such as a porosity coefficient or thickness ratio is analysed. In order to compare analytical results a finite element model of a porous plate is built using system ANSYS. Obtained numerical results are in agreement with analytical ones.
