A Reconfigurable Mixed-Model Assembly System of Cockpit Module using RFID/ZigBee Protocol (RFID/ZigBee 프로토콜을 활용한 가변구조 혼합형 모델 칵핏모듈 조립생산 시스템)

  • Mixed-model assembly line has been widely used in automotive assembly industry to quickly respond the diverse product demands. But, this model can lead to part confusion, which is a source for assembly errors when parts are physically interchangeable in a mixed-model assembly line. With the recent application of new technologies such as radio frequency identification (RFID) and ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) to the assembly process, real-time information has become available in this manufacturing systems through IT infrastructures. At first, this paper presents an RFID application for assembly processes, specifically, for a mixed-model assembly line. Thus, to ensure that parts be picked accurately, each cockpit module on the assembly line is attached with a RFID tag and the tag is scanned using a RFID reader and recognizes the vehicle, and each part of the cockpit module is attached with a barcode and the barcode is scanned by a barcode reader and each part is identified correctly for the vehicle. Second, this paper presents a ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) protocol-based application for a reconfigurable mixed-model assembly line of cockpit module to reduce the assembly errors and the cost of the change/reconfiguration on the assembly lines due to the various orders and new models from the motor company, avoiding the wiring efforts and inconvenience by wiring between the several RFID devices and the IT server system. Finally, we presents the operation results for several years using this RFID/ZigBee wireless sensor network (WSN) protocol-based cockpit module assembly line.

Development of Livestock Traceability System Based on Implantable RFID Sensor Tag with MFAN (MFAN/RFID 생체 삽입형 센서 태그 기반 가축 이력 관리 시스템 개발)

  • With the recent increased risk of livestock disease spread and human infection, livestock disease control has become very important. Consequently, there has been an increased attention on an implantable real-time monitoring and traceability system for individual cattle. Therefore, we have developed a robust monitoring and traceability system based on an implantable MFAN/RFID sensor tag. Our design combines the MFAN technology that is capable of robust wireless communication within cattle sheds and the 900MHz RFID technology that is capable of wireless communication without battery. In MFAN/RFID implantable sensor tag monitoring system, UHF sensor tag is implanted under the skin and accurately monitors the body temperature and biological changes without being affected by external environment. In order to acquire power needed by the tag, we install a MFAN/RFID tranceiver on the neck of cattle. The MFAN coordinator passes through the MFAN node and the RFID-reader-combined MFAN/RFID transceiver and transmits/receives the data and power for the sensor tag. The data stored in the MFAN coordinator is transmitted via the internet to the livestock history monitoring system, where it is stored and managed. By developing this system, we hope to alleviate the problems related to livestock disease control.

  • A real-time, Indoor navigation systems utilize ultra-wide band (UWB), radio-frequency identification (RFID) and received signal strength (RSS) techniques that encompass WiFi, FM, mobile communications, and other similar technologies. These systems typically require surplus infrastructure for their implementation, which results in significantly increased costs and complexity. Therefore, as a solution to reduce the level of cost and complexity, an inertial measurement unit (IMU) and quick response (QR) codes are utilized in this paper to facilitate navigation with the assistance of a smartphone. The QR code helps to compensate for errors caused by the pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) algorithm, thereby providing more accurate localization. The proposed algorithm having IMU in conjunction with QR code shows an accuracy of 0.64 m which is higher than existing indoor navigation techniques.

  • 사물인터넷(IoT)은 RFID(Radio-Frequency Identification), 무선, 모바일, 그리고 센서 장치들의 편재성을 증가시킴으로서 유망한 산업 체제 및 응용을 구축할 수 있는 기회를 제공하고 있다. 학계의 활발한 연구 뿐 아니라 최근 몇 년 동안 산업계 또한 사물인터넷을 다양하게 응용하여 개발 및 배포하고 있다. 본 논문은 사물인터넷과 관련된 기술과 서비스 지향 아키텍처를 소개하고, 사물인터넷을 위한 서비스 지향 아키텍처를 기능에 따라 4개의 계층으로 구분하여 각각의 기능을 비교하고 검토함으로써 사물인터넷 기술의 활용도를 높이고자 한다.

Performance comparison of the RF-DC converter circuit for wireless power transmission (무선전력전송을 위한 RF-DC 변환기 회로의 성능비교)

  • A RF-DC converter is one of the most important components for a wireless power transmission. It has been developed for many applications such as space solar power system, and Radio Frequency Identification(RFID). In this paper, we designed three types of RF-DC converter and compare the performance of each. All types RF-DC convertoer have a maximum conversion efficiency at input power level of 0 dBm~5 dBm and RF-DC converter of third type was the best performance that has a 21.9% of conversion efficiency.

  • Recently, due to emerging technologies such as radio frequency identification(RFID), global positioning system(GPS), and wireless mobile communication technologies, it is possible to build up the infrastructure for tracking and tracing product logistics data at any place and at any time. However, for implementing the infrastructure, it is necessary to develop a suitable management method for product logistics data. To this end, this study deals with a resource description framework(RDF) based modeling and application method for product logistics data in the ubiquitous environment. It will give us the capability to control product logistics data, which leads to streamline logistics operations.

  • Up-to-date cargo transport system, CVO(Commercial Vehicle Operations) is the system to manage efficiently cargo distribution as providing at real time the information of cargo location and situation through ITS and GPS technology. In this paper, we proposed the Gate Automation System of harbors among AEI/AVI. To implement his system, we use the DSRC/RFID(Dedicated Short Range Communication / Radio Frequency IDentification) which adopts an wireless communication between RSE(Road-side Equipment) and OBE(on-Board Equipment) on a vehicle. When constructing the Gate automation system of harbors, the business application ability are reviewed practically and the logistics facilities to be constructed in the near future may use this project results according to the international standard and it could help complete integrated logistics system.

In today's wine industry, companies are faced with the ever-shifting demand for their products, strict regulation and increasing price competition. Even at that, mature companies in the wine industry are succeeding by scaling up production, streamlining their supply chains, expanding into new geographic areas, implementing more efficient processes, cleverly marketing products, and focusing on ever closer relationships with suppliers, partners and customers. However, this paper looks at supply chain challenges in the wine industry from a global perspective presented in the inbound, manufacturing and outbound processes as well as offer effective solutions in order for companies to gain a competitive advantage and succeed on a global level.

  • In the paper We have analyzed the case study of the domestic and foreign railway logistic information systems based on the railway logistic to build the information architect basis system of real-time simultaneous. In case of domestic examples, We have analyzed the logistic information system used in Korea Railroad and the information systems of Kyungin ICD(Inland Container Depot) and Busanjin CY(Container Yard). In case of foreign example, we have analyzed the logistic information system of Japanese FRENS(Freight information network system) and the examples of freight tracking using RFID(Radio Frequency Identification). Through the above analysis, We have induced the main problems and improvement methods. We are able to build the railway-oriented information network system for the massive and efficient railway transportation.

  • 본 논문에서는 임베디드 시스템을 이용하여 물품관리에 응용할 수 있는 시스템을 설계 및 구현하고자 한다. 현재 활발하게 연구 발전하는 임베디드 시스템과 빠르게 보급되고 있는 무선랜을 이용하여 설계하였으며. 시스템 구성은 RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification)와 무선랜이 가능한 관리 단말기, 모바일 장비인 휴대폰과 PDA 그리고 중앙 관리 시스템으로 이루어졌다. 대량 물품관리 시스템의 사례로 대형 중고자동차 관리 시스템을 선택하였다. 하드웨어는 MPC860CPU 50MHz를 갖춘 XN860Core보드 및 Access Point는 AVAYA AP-1을 사용하였으며, 임베디드 시스템의 운영체제는 HardHat Linux2.0JE를 사용하였다. 중고자동차 관리시스템은 관리에서 영업까지 필요한 기능을 구현할 수 있도록 설계하였으며 향후 다른 분야로 응용할 수 있음을 보인다.
