The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiency of resident companies in port hinterland logistics that are currently operating. The subjects of the efficiency analysis include 13 logistics hinterland resident companies in Incheon Port and Busan Port. Investment amounts, area, and number of employees were selected as input variables, and volume and sales amounts were selected as output variables. As for the efficiency analysis methods, traditional CCR and BCC models were applied. To overcome the limits of these models, a super-efficiency model and a Super-SBM model were also applied. According to the super-efficiency model analysis, the mean was 0.777 and the standard deviation was 0.54, indicating an approximate 33% difference of efficiency among the companies. According to the Super-SBM model analysis, the mean was 0.649 and the standard deviation was 0.489. When considering residuals in the super-efficiency model, the average efficiency score among the companies decreased by approximately 13%. This means that the efficiency score decrease of DMU, where non-radial residuals exist at about 18% on average. Examining the inefficiency of the inputs, the inefficiency of the number of employees turned out to be largest at -45%, compared to 'area' at -33% and 'investment amount' at -33%.

This essay attempts a contrapuntal reading of Thomas More's Utopia. Contrapunctual reading, proposed by Edward Said. attempts to make a text speak across temporal, cultural, and ideological boundaries to a topic of present. I examine two opposite readings of Utopia around 2011 by both pro- and anti-Occupy Wall Street positions. On the one hand, the opponents of Occupy find its limits as a utopian social movement echoing in the fictional character of Hythrodaeus and the alternative society verbally sketched by him in Book Two of Utopia. On the other, Occupy's advocates read More's text as embodying its radial possibility. However, each shares the tendency to denounce Book Two, praising Book One in which Hythrodaeus vehemently criticizes England; they read Hythrodaeus not as an utopian idealist but as a social critic. The Occupy, as a result, is seen here as having an ambivalent relationship to utopianism. I reinterpret the radical possibilities of Book Two criticized by both pro- and anti-Occupy invocations of Utopia. Book Two provides a utopian space in which the existing social contradictions are cancelled, revealing the limits of the three partial utopias proposed at the end of Book One. Following Louis Marin's argument, I argue, the "utopic" space does not lie in the so-called ideal society described in the text but in the inconsistencies between the text's description(discourse) and topography(map). In Book Two the existence of a king is described, yet his space is not found in the topography of utopia; likewise market is described as existing at the center of a city, yet its space is not found either. These inconsistencies create a neutral space in which the ideological contradictions of the text are cancelled, and the space opens up the possibility of communal society beyond modern sovereign power and capitalism I argue this utopian dream needs to be summoned once again in our time as a compelling alternative to the corporate, capitalist order.

In the present paper I described the results of the observations made on the visual characteristics such as the annual ring width and summerwood percentage of Pinus koraiensis Sieb. et Zucc. grown at out university forest. The results of the study are as follows: Characteristics of annual ring width and summerwood percentage 1. The range of dispersion of annual ring width and summerwood percentage are respectively 0.5-6.5mm and 5-50% on the normal wood and its arithmetic mean values are each 3.0mm and 24% on all sample trees. 2. The values of annual ring width of heart wood are larger than that of sapwood but on the contrary the values of summerwood percentage of heartwood are smaller than that of sapwood. On the other hand variations of these values are distingushed on the heartwood. 3. The values of annual ring width due to the parts of stem with crown. with clear length and at bottom showed that the largest values are given at the parts of stem with crown. But on the contrary the summerwood percentage values are largest at the parts of stem at bottom on all sample trees. 4. The values of annual ring width and summerwood percentage depending on the stand sides are not obvious. Horizontal and vertical variations of annual ring width and summerwood percentage 5. It was recognized that horizontal (radial direction) variations of annual ring width and summerwood percentage indicated two different patterns (the region of large fluctuation and that of small fluctuation) in a tree stem. These boundaries are seemed to appear at the parts of 12-15 annual rings from pith. 6. According to the increase of height in tree the values of annual ring width increase but the values of summerwood percentage gradually decrease. 7. But vertical variations of annual ring width and summerwood percentage on the sapwood are divided into two different parts (region of increased or decreased upwards and that of remained constant in successive height) in a tree stem and these limits are seemed to appear at the 7m of height in trees. Relations between annual ring width and summerwood percentage 8. The modes of summerwood percentage related with annual ring width are seemed to appear almost in the definite range (10-25%). 9. The relations between annual ring width and summerwood percentage show a highly negatine correlation on all sample trees.
