  • This study explores standardization plans concerning industrialization of Hanjii which is traditional culture resources of rural community. Hanji is very useful in many ways, and its usefulness is not confined to only paper. In other words, it comes to have architectural uses, agricultural uses, clothing uses, and medical uses through fusion and convergence. However, the expansion of Hanji market dose not lead to profits for related stake holders because its standardization is not nurtured yet. For standardization, this paper argues, first, a industrial definition of Hanji is needed in which Hanji's own characteristics is involved. Besides maintaining traditional characteristics, the definition and quality standards of Hanji needs to be established by considering a given condition of Hanji industy. Second, a satisfactory method to measure Hanji's own material characteristics(i.g., mulberry paper content and long-term sustainability), which affects Hanji's quality, needs to be developed and standardized. Third, a government standard is urgently needed in order to keep consumers from being confused when they select Hanji products. The standardization of Hanji products and technology needs to be established in both case of current Hanji market and newly developed products and technology.

  • A holography technique optically reconstructs a three-dimensional object in space to provide a natural sense of depth and volume to the observer, thereby providing an ultimate 3D image capable of solving the problem of "vergence-accommodation conflict" occurring in a conventional stereoscopic imaging system. In this paper, we present a technical framework for measuring the performance and evaluating the quality of a holographic display, which enables a quantitative measurement of the optical and physical properties that affect the performance and quality of a holographic display. In addition, we provide the trend regarding standardization related to holographic display measurements. Although this trend has barely started, research activities related to holographic display measurements and quality evaluations are expected to grow in the near future.

  • Purpose: The predominant approach for mitigating inadequate sampling rates has primarily involved bolstering the volume of education. This study aimed to curtail inadequate sampling rates through the implementation of continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities, tailoring effective methods to the unique needs of each institution. Methods: We developed a sample handling guidebook and implemented QI activities to address this issue. Results: These measures resulted in a 4.7% decrease in inadequate sampling rates, concurrently improving knowledge of sample handling and overall nurse satisfaction. We addressed the root causes of inadequate sampling before laboratory pre-processing by: 1) focusing on systematic rather than erratic errors through CQI activities, 2) revising the sample handling guide, and 3) delivering face-to-face education based on the specific needs of the nursing department. These changes resulted in an additional 0.6% decrease in the inadequate sampling rate. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that the implementation of CQI activities based on evidence derived from a multifaceted causal analysis significantly reduced the inadequate sampling rate compared to previous studies.

  • To evaluate anti-influenza virus activity of 113 specimens of Korean traditional medicine both water and methanol extracts were examined using haemagglutination inhibition test. The water extract from Citrus junos was found to inhibit influenza virus A/Taiwan/l/86(H1N1). The survival rates of virus were determined by in situ cellular enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The water extract of Citrus junos was fractionated by chromatographic separating using Amberlite XAD-4, 40% MeOH and 60% MeOH layer had antiviral activity. The half inhibition concentration $(IC_{50})$ of 40% MeOH layer on survival of influenza virus was $MIC>361.5{\mu}g/ml$ and $IC_{50}$ value of fr. 40-4 fractionated from 40% MeOH layer was $677.19{\mu}g/ml$. These results suggested that the fractions of Citus junos have potent anti-influenza A virus activity.

  • Many papers point out that the e-Learning is one of the most important industries, and the effect on other industries can be more powerful than any other business. Therefore, we think about social, cultural, industrial and technological effect of the e-Learning in order to enlarge industry scale as well as educational performances. In many cases of developed countries, various kinds of study have been performed for the e-Learning quality assurance because quality of the e-learning should operate on effective and efficient learning and continuous market development of education industries. The e-Learning quality assurance has import function not only for learning contents reusability like a SCORM and metadata but also for learning system, solution and service operation, so activities for the quality assurance should consider of cultural and tactical approach when it is applied in the e-learning business. In this paper, we present the concept, domain and purpose of the e-Learning quality assurance. Furthermore, this paper proposes the process and methodology in order to make the quality assurance standard model which is consist of 6 phase such as Environment Research, Needs Analysis, Framework, Metrics, Development and Implementation, Evaluation and Feedback through the analysis and comparison of pre-studied worldwide quality control, management and assurance documents.

  • There have been considerable standardization works to measure subjective video quality. However, these standardization methods are based on the situation where they have original or reference video sequences, and measure the video quality by looking the sequence during short time duration, e.g. 10 seconds. Since people's TV watching time durations in IPTV services are very long (e.g. more than 30 minutes), the quality measurements by the standards are not practical. In this paper, we analyze the effect of video quality rating period to MOS (Mean Opinion Score), and suggest a proper rating duration of subjective video quality for IPTV services.

  • An increase in high-quality video service continually leads to the standardization of high-performance video codecs such as the versatile video coding standard. Although such codecs have improved coding efficiency in terms of high fidelity, a tremendous increase in the amount of video data is required for more efficient compression, especially for efficiently recognizing and analyzing the target within the millions of objects/events captured every day, such as those by surveillance systems. Therefore, newly established MPEG standardization efforts have studied the new generation of video compression standards for machine vision-oriented video. This paper presents the standardization trends in video coding for machines and discusses further directions for improvement.

  • Background: Inflammation is widespread in the clinical pathology and closely associated to the progress of many diseases. Triterpenoid saponins as a key group of active ingredients in Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F.H. Chen were demonstrated to show antiinflammatory effects. However, the chemical structures of saponins in the leaves and stems of Panax notoginseng (PNLS) are still not fully clear. Herein, the isolation, purification and further evaluation of the antiinflammatory activity of dammarane-type triterpenoid saponins from PNLS were conducted. Methods: Silica gel and reversed-phase C8 column chromatography were used. Furthermore, preparative HPLC was used as a final purification technique to obtain minor saponins with high purities. MS, NMR experiments, and chemical methods were used in the structural identifications. The antiinflammatory activities of the isolated saponins were assessed by measuring the nitric oxide production in RAW 264.7 cells stimulated by lipopolysaccharides. Real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction was used to measure the gene expressions of inflammation-related gene. Results: Eight new minor dammarane-type triterpene oligoglycosides, namely notoginsenosides LK1-LK8 (1-8) were obtained from PNLS, along with seven known ones. Among the isolated saponins, gypenoside IX significantly suppressed the nitric oxide production and inflammatory cytokines including tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$, interleukin 10, interferon-inducible protein 10 and $interleukin-1{\beta}$. Conclusion: The eight saponins may enrich and expand the chemical library of saponins in Panax genus. Moreover, it is reported for the first time that gypenoside IX showed moderate antiinflammatory activity.

  • The standardization of weapon system parts is one of the elements of parts management and is an important factor for reducing the cost of acquiring and maintaining a weapon system, enhancing its reliability, improving interoperability, alleviating parts obsolescence problems, improving logistics efficiency, and strengthening the military's combat readiness. This study examined how to manage parts of domestic R&D weapon systems, overseas imports weapon system parts, and various commercial parts from a standardization perspective, and to study parts management methods for standardizing parts in the future. This system was used to achieve systematic part standardization in a military weapon system. To this end, this study investigated what elements are used to standardize weapon system parts. The importance and weight of each element were calculated using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), one of the decision-making techniques, and the design stage standards using the part selection method were studied. Through this, the selection process of standard parts, which has been made according to the experience and subjective judgment of designers and personnel, was improved to propose a systematic and objective method of standardizing weapons parts.
