On the Requirements and Risk Management using QFD Methods for ACTD Programs (신개념기술시범(ACTD) 사업에서 QFD 기법을 이용한 요구사항 및 위험관리 방안에 관한 연구)

  • The concept of the advanced concept technology demonstration (ACTD) has previously been introduced in USA in order to make it possible to rapidly transfer advanced technologies developed in commercial sectors to develop weapon systems in the defense area. Since then in Korea several ACTD programs have been developed and being carried out However, there are few program management methods suitable for the characteristics of the ACTD programs, which requires stringent management of the program requirements and risks due to the radically shortened development time. In this paper such a problem has been addressed and as a solution approach the quality function deployment (QFD) method has been adopted, which is being served as a successful model in various areas such as manufacturing. The QFD method is used in our study to improve communication between various stakeholders involved in the ACTD programs and also to reduce risks related to requirements. Specifically we have developed the ACTD standard templates based on the QFD method and discussed how to use the developed templates. Finally, the application of the study result is demonstrated through the ACTD program of flight information demonstration system and also specific ways are suggested to use the standard templates, to manage requirements, and to reduce risks.

Revision of Repair Materials Performance Requirement for Concrete Structures (콘크리트 구조물 단면복구공사 보수재료 품질기준개선)

  • For highway concrete structures, the deterioration of the structure is accelerated due to the increase in the use of deicing materials, and sectional repair work is being frequently carried out to restore performance. However, after the repair work, re-damage such as cracks, delamination, and poor bond performance is exhibited in the repaired sectional area. In this study, overseas repair material requirements were first analyzed, and present domestic requirements were improved repair material performance through field surveys of common concrete structures, laboratory experiments, and test construction on a disused concrete bridge. In addition, performancebased quality requirements were presented so that all materials that meet the required performance can be applied, and different test methods for each material were unified into concrete test methods for consistent test results analysis. The considered performance requirements were compression strength, bending strength, and bond strength for structural properties, and length change rate, crack resistance, thermal expansion coefficient, and elasticity coefficient were for dimensional behavior. For resistance to chloride penetration resistance and freeze-thaw resistance were presented as durability. The proposed requirements for concrete repair materials are expected to contribute to the improvement of the quality of concrete sectional repair work in Korea.

  • As having analyzed an advance research that had looked into how characteristics of information system affect use and success of the concerned system, the study determined that system quality, information quality and service quality are the fundamental requirements for a good accounting information system. In addition, based on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use that have been selected as major variables related to information system acceptance proposed by Davis[10], the study conducted an empirical analysis on how such factors would influence performance of the accounting information system. According to the results from the analysis, the system quality one of the characteristics of the accounting information system was observed to have a significant influence on the perceived ease of use while both the information quality and the service quality would positively affect the perceived usefulness. Not only that, the perceived ease of use and the perceived usefulness were confirmed to be a significant factor to the performance, and with those results, all the theses of the study have been selected. As proved even with the information system success model, the system quality, the information quality and the service quality are definitely the most necessary elements for business management, and it also turned out that those elements would play an important role in several stages of the information system.

  • This paper has proposed the development direction and R&D analysis approach that the diversity of defense R&D process and product should be mainly under consideration. It has shown that there is a fair possibility of the various quality assess to meet the R&D requirements in defense-based. Thus, the analysis on multiple quality elements is carried out with defense R&D characteristics. Especially, a quality management master planning based on the quality model of establishing defense R&D policy has proposed, identifying relevant quality characteristics on the R&D of weapon system and the R&D of core technology. That is, this paper is not only interested in determining an appropriate model for improving the quality of a R&D weapon system but also argued efforts in order to reap the best possible outcome and process on both the R&D of weapon system and quality of the R&D of core technology including present R&D activities.

  • Recently, the mandate on utilizing BIM implemented by public institutions of many countries has great impact on the significantly increasing practices of BIM. The improvement of work efficiency and productivity, which is occurred by BIM adoption, depends on the consistency and accuracy of data. To maximize the benefit of BIM, the interests in BIM data quality have been enlarging all over the world. The BIM data quality pre-check, which is conducted by designer in the design phase, offers opportunities for quality improvement by continuously assessing BIM data. However, BIM quality pre-check is being conducted under arbitrary interpretation of users because of the absence of specific review factors and assessment methods for checking BIM quality. The purpose of this study is to establish an automated BIM quality pre-checking system to improve BIM design quality effectively and efficiently. It could be expected to meet the owner's requirements and to minimize the cost and time occurred additionally from revising and reproducing data by constructing consistency and accuracy of it.

Analysis of Power Quality by Transformer Inrush Current (변압기 여자돌입에 의한 전력품질 분석)

  • The transformer inrush current can cause a voltage drop by source impedance. This current can impact sensitive loads by the voltage drop. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures to limit this inrush current. This study, described in this paper, analyzes the power quality affected by transformer inrush current using the X power system in Korea. The Electromagnetic Transients Program(EMTP) is used to analyze the transient phenomenon. We discuss a method to model the hysteresis curve of the transformer in EMTP. We carried out various simulations to analyze the power quality during transformer energization. The analysis results of voltage drop by the inrush current occurrence when certain requirements are met are presented.

  • The ever increasing demands for enhanced competitiveness of engineered products require a "designing-in-quality" strategy that can effectively and efficiently incorporate concepts of uncertainty, quality, and robustness into design. Engineered design optimization approaches that are typically carried out with respect to a single objective become inadequate to address these multiple set of requirements. This paper presents a design metric for a multi-attribute robust design problem with designer′s preferences on the performance accuracy and the performance precision. The use of this design metric as the robust optimal design criterion in multi-stage experimentation and modeling technique is presented. The effectiveness of the overall design procedure and the performance of the proposed design metric are tested with the aid of IC design and the results are discussed.

Effect of Local Cosmetic Brand's Global Images on Domestic Consumers' Purchasing Decision

  • This research was carried out by setting hypotheses on recognition of the global image of the research subject, a domestic cosmetic brand and consequent quality of the brand, reputation of the brand, purchasing decision, influence of images of expanded countries and their correlations to investigate what effect the global images of local brands practically have on domestic consumers' purchasing decision. The analysis results show that overseas expansion of the research subject brand has positive influence on the brand possessing global images. However, it can be seen that the quality of the brand has much larger influence on the reputation of the brand than the images of global brand. In addition, the images of the expanded countries have influence on purchasing decisions but the global images based on the expanded countries did not have much influence on purchasing decisions. Therefore, it can be seen that global images based on high levels of brand reputation and quality are requirements of a most competitive brand than images of the expanded countries in forecasting likelihood of purchase.

  • The construction market has gradually become complexity, variety and specialization, and then owner's requirements about quality has become various. In order to solve the problem such as stated above, advanced constructions in United Kingdom, Japan and United States have introduced warranty contract which is warranted to quality and performance for need of owner in determined term to ensure the quality of construction since 1960s. However, the interior of a country encounter another problem result from defects liability what indefiniteness of defects standard, excess responsibility period, social recognition of be identical fraudulent work and defects, and contract with ascendancy of owners. etc, so builders concerned more excess defects liability than the quality of construction. The purpose of this study is to analysis of warranty contract in order to solve the problem such as stated above.

  • In this paper, we propose development of new products including the proposed process of at the customer's requirements. The success of new product development depends on customer satisfaction in the marketplace. Existing product development process, including the customer's interest was weak. In this paper, we propose development of new products which include Kano's attractive quality factor method and Timko's customer satisfaction index factor method. Also we verified new medical treatment of incontinence-nency which is applied to the proposed process.
