Identification of Requirements for Improving Healthcare Services with the Combined Use of SERVPERF and Customer Journey Map (SERVPERF와 고객여정지도를 활용한 의료서비스 개선 요건 파악)

  • This paper is aimed at proposing a new approach to connecting the measurements of customer satisfaction on healthcare services with the prioritized identification of healthcare service processes to be improved. As customers' requirements for healthcare services have become too diverse and healthcare service systems have been increasingly complex, there has been growing interest in the customer-oriented evaluation of healthcare service quality and the systematic improvement of healthcare service processes. Most of the previous studies on service quality evaluation are based on SERVQUAL model. However, because of the unique characteristics and constraints inherent in healthcare service systems, it has been reported that SERVQUAL would be inadequate to be applied to healthcare service systems. As an alternative, SERVPERF has recently been widely used in the evaluation of healthcare service quality. However, there is a lack of studies on how to use the measurements of healthcare service quality systematically to improve service functions and processes. With this issue in mind, we firstly measured the customer-perceived satisfaction on the healthcare service quality from the six dimensions based on SERVPERF. Then we identified the relationships between the subjective measurements and healthcare service processes through brainstorming and expert interview. By using the relationships, we developed a customer journey map in healthcare services that visually describe the interaction between customers and healthcare service systems. The developed customer journey map would help service designers easily identify a healthcare service process that needs to be improved with priority. It is expected that the design improvement process proposed in this study would be a useful method for enhancing the quality of healthcare services.

  • This paper proposes a discriminative collision resolution scheme for the wireless Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols to support the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements of real-time applications. Our scheme deals with access requests in different ways depending on their delay requirements. In our scheme, a Collision Resolution Period (CRP) is used to quickly resolve collisions for the delay sensitive traffic in order to support their delay requirements. Performance analysis and simulation results show that our algorithm may successfully meet the delay requirements of real time applications by reducing access delays and collisions.

  • Although the livestock excretion is a significant resource in providing nutrients to the crops as it is recycled, it has been perceived as the cause of environmental pollutions for its inappropriate treatment and quality control issues. The study is aimed to develop an integrated management system for efficient management of livestock excretion using the Ubiquitous technology, and the user requirements are analyzed for development of such system. As the result of analysis on the requirements, it has been proved that such system is perceived to be necessary and the demand for several main functions can be seen as well.

  • Recently, many deterministic built-in self-test schemes to reduce test time have been researched. These schemes can achieve a good quality test by shortening the whole test process, but require complex algorithms or much hardware. In this paper, a new deterministic BIST scheme is provided that reduces the additional hardware requirements, as well as keeping test time to a minimum. The proposed BIST (Built-In Self-Test) methodology brings about the reduction of the hardware requirements for pseudo-random tests as well. Theoretical study demonstrates the possibility of reducing the hardware requirements for both pseudo-random and deterministic tests, with some explanations and examples. Experimental results show that in the proposed test scheme the hardware requirements for the pseudo-random test and deterministic test are less than in previous research.

  • In order to provide the methodology of researching constitutional theories, the original meaning and the source of the term, ti(體) and zhi(質) written in and other text were reviewed, and then components of constitution(體質) and some evaluative norms and prospect on constitutional theories were proposed. Ti(體) means body or 5 tissues or patterns of them and zhi(質) means quality in , so the temporary meaning of constitution was generally same with present one. But the temperament originated from Greek and Elizabethan era is thought that it corresponds with constitution, but it means generally body type and character and mental pathologic features. The fundamental requirements of constitutional theories are needed stability, creativity, clinical efficiency and reproductiveness for differentiating with classical diagnostics over the range of disease and aging of the subject. And heredity, universality and extensiveness were recommended as additional requirements for making level up the theories through long-term follow-up, and to evaluate these requirements detail items were proposed. More of these, weight rendering should be made respectively afterwards.

Channel-Based Scheduling Policy for QoS Guarantees in Wireless Links

  • Proportional Fair (PF) share policy has been adopted as a downlink scheduling scheme in CDMA2000 l×EV-DO standard. Although It offers optimal performance in aggregate throughput conditioned on equal time share among users, it cannot provide a bandwidth guarantee and a strict delay bound. which is essential requirements of real-time (RT) applications. In this study, we propose a new scheduling policy that provides quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees to a variety of traffic types demanding diverse service requirements. In our policy data traffic is categorized Into three classes, depending on sensitivity of Its performance to delay or throughput. And the primary components of our policy, namely, Proportional Fair (PF), Weighted Fair Queuing (WFQ), and delay-based prioritized scheme are intelligently combined to satisfy QoS requirements of each traffic type. In our policy all the traffic categories run on the PF policy as a basis. However the level of emphasis on each of those ingredient policies is changed in an adaptive manner by taking into account the channel conditions and QoS requirements. Such flexibility of our proposed policy leads to offering QoS guarantees effectively and. at the same time, maximizing the throughput. Simulations are used to verify the performance of the proposed scheduling policy. Experimental results show that our proposal can provide guaranteed throughput and maximum delay bound more efficiently compared to other policies.

  • Since 1975, Korean defence quality system has been operated by adopting defence specifications, 0050-0015, 0050-0029 and 0050-0030, which were based on the American specifications, MIL-Q-9858, MIL-Q-45208 and MIL-STD-45662. The trend that the ISO certification is intensively required for the international trade, and the need for modernization of the Korean military forces, however, provide motivation to revise the defence quality system. In this study, an improved defence quality system has been proposed by the comparison study among the requirements prescribed in ISO 9000, AQAP 100 series, MIL-Q-9858.

Hotel Service Quality Evaluation Based on LQI using Sentiment Analysis of Online Reviews (온라인 후기에 내재된 고객의 감성분석과 LQI 차원별 호텔 서비스 품질 평가)

  • Purpose With the increasing number of foreign travelers visiting Korea, it is a heavy question to evaluate service quality of typical domestic hotel companies. Our research aims to evaluate service quality of domestic hotels in Korea from the perspective of foreign travelers in order to provide the quality improvements that call attention for the hotel management. Design/Methodology/Approach In this paper, topics of sentiment followed Lodging Quality Index(LQI) dimensions classifying lodging service quality appropriately. Also, we employed word2vec algorithm which calculates similarity and affinity among the vocabularies accurately. To calculate sentiment of each dimension, we adopted scores from SentiWordNet. Findings From the result, we found the number of foreign travelers particularly satisfied with cleanliness, politeness, and problem solving skills. In contrast, it has also been found out that both promptness of services and efficiency of communication do not fulfill the requirements of travelers.

  • Traditional quality control for manufacturing or service sector is not suitable for the quality control of a project as the project is one-time task constrained by time, cost, and quality. To meet the internal and external customers' requirements, quality costs approach to the project will be effective. Hence, we propose PONC (price of nonconformance) estimation procedure and a mathematical model, which are focused on activity-based prevention in the execution step and warranty step of EPLC (extended project life cycle). This procedure and model will help project manager develop preventive action plan for project quality costs minimization from nonconformance risk activities and PONC estimates information.

An Empirical Comparative Analysis Between Kano and Improved Kano Methods (Kano 품질속성 평가방법론들의 실증적 비교분석)

  • Various studies have been undertaken in order to effectively understand customer requirements. Kano proposed a dualistic approach, physical fulfillment and customer satisfaction, to differentiate Attractive, Must-be, One-dimensional quality attributes. As there were a few limitations on the Kano's method, researchers have proposed improved methods. However, there have been few empirical evidences that the improved methods are superior to the original Kano's method for identifying relevant quality attributes. The objective of this study is to provide a comparative study on Kano and improved Kanomethods based on empirical analysis of quality attributes on University services. For the analysis of the questionnaire formats, the Kano's original 5 scale questionnaire is more effective than improved methods, direct and 3 scale questionnaire. For the analysis of evaluation methods, the original Kano and Timko's method using the evaluation table are more effective than quantifying methods, Domouchel and Lim's methods.
