Researched and Analyzed Variables for Pollution Waters around the "Kosova B" Thermal Power Plant

  • The energy corporation of Kosovo continuously monitors and analyzes the impact of its own activities on the environment. Regarding the environmental situation, energy corporation of Kosovo- ECK regularly informs and reports objectively to the competent state institutions, local municipal institutions and interested parties. ECK, through numerous contacts with the competent authorities, firstly with different ministers, harmonizes the positions regarding environmental issues in the direction of achieving certain environmental standards or legal requirements in order to gradually be in accordance with them, based on the real possibilities, especially the financial ones. From this point of view, the environmental issue is very sensitive, quite complex and represents one of the biggest challenges of society currently and in the future. The researched variables show a continuous increase in the need for electricity production in Kosovo and this increase in production conditions a wide range of environmental impacts both at the local, regional and global levels. The aim of the work is to reduce the emission of pollutants through the main variables without inhibiting the economic development of the country, i.e. to bring the pollution as a result of the activities of the ECK operation into compliance with the permitted environmental norms. As a result of ECK's operational activities, the following follows: Air pollution mainly as a result of emissions from TCs in the air, transport, etc. Water pollution - as a result of technological water discharges, Land degradation - as a result of surface mining activities of the entire mining area. The purpose of the paper is to research and analyze the main water variables in the area of the Kosova B power plant, which is to determine the degree of their pollution from the activities of the power plants, as well as to assess the real state of surface water quality and control the degree of pollution of these waters. Methodology of the work: The analyzes of the water samples were done in the company Institute "INKOS" JSC by simultaneous methods using different reagents.

딥러닝을 활용한 실내 사람 수 추정을 위한 WiFi CSI 데이터 전처리와 증강 기법 (WiFi CSI Data Preprocessing and Augmentation Techniques in Indoor People Counting using Deep Learning)

  • 사람 수 추정은 스마트 홈, 스마트 빌딩, 스마트 자동차 등과 같은 응용 서비스를 제공하기 위해 중요한 기술이다. 최근 COVID-19의 영향으로 사회적 거리두기가 시행되면서 사람 수 추정 기술은 새롭게 주목받고 있다. 사람 수 추정 시스템은 서비스 요구사항에 따라 카메라, 센서, 무선 등과 같은 다양한 방법으로 구현 가능하다. WiFi AP를 활용한 사람 수 추정 방식은 다중경로 정보를 반영하는 WiFi CSI를 활용하는 기술로 낮은 비용으로 실내에서 사용하기에 효과적이다. 기존에 제안된 WiFi CSI 기반 사람 수 추정 시스템은 정확도가 낮아 고품질 서비스를 제공하기 어렵다. 본 논문은 WiFi CSI 데이터에 기반한 딥러닝 사람 수 추정 시스템을 제안한다. 오토인코더를 활용한 데이터 전처리 방식, WiFi CSI 데이터를 변형하는 데이터 증강 기법, 그리고 딥러닝 모델링을 통해 추정 정확도를 높인다. 실험 결과 제안하는 시스템은 최대 6명에 대해 89.29%의 정확도를 보였다.

IoB 환경을 위한 헬스케어 서비스 모델 설계 (Designing a Healthcare Service Model for IoB Environments)

  • 최근 헬스케어 분야는 다양한 산업 분야의 요구사항을 반영하여 서비스 품질을 향상시킬 수 있는 모델을 개발하려고 노력하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 헬스케어 서비스 향상을 위해서 5G 환경에서 사용자의 헬스케어 정보를 실시간으로 처리할 수 있는 행동인터넷(IoB, Internet of Behavior) 환경 모델을 제안한다. 제안 모델은 사용자의 헬스케어 정보를 딥러닝을 통해 분석한 후 건강 상태를 실시간으로 확인할 수 있도록 하는 것이 목적이다. 이때, 사용자의 생체 정보는 휴대용 의료 장비에 부착된 통신 장비를 통해 전달되며, 사용자 인증은 부착된 IoB 장치에 사전 입력된 정보를 통해 수행된다. 기존 IoT 헬스케어 서비스와의 차별점은 사용자의 습관 및 행동 패턴을 분석해서 디지털 데이터화 하는 점과 수집된 데이터를 기반으로 사용자의 헬스케어 서비스 향상을 위한 사용자 특정 행동을 유도할 수 있다는 점이다.

Integrating Resilient Tier N+1 Networks with Distributed Non-Recursive Cloud Model for Cyber-Physical Applications

  • Cyber-physical systems (CPS) have been growing exponentially due to improved cloud-datacenter infrastructure-as-a-service (CDIaaS). Incremental expandability (scalability), Quality of Service (QoS) performance, and reliability are currently the automation focus on healthy Tier 4 CDIaaS. However, stable QoS is yet to be fully addressed in Cyber-physical data centers (CP-DCS). Also, balanced agility and flexibility for the application workloads need urgent attention. There is a need for a resilient and fault-tolerance scheme in terms of CPS routing service including Pod cluster reliability analytics that meets QoS requirements. Motivated by these concerns, our contributions are fourfold. First, a Distributed Non-Recursive Cloud Model (DNRCM) is proposed to support cyber-physical workloads for remote lab activities. Second, an efficient QoS stability model with Routh-Hurwitz criteria is established. Third, an evaluation of the CDIaaS DCN topology is validated for handling large-scale, traffic workloads. Network Function Virtualization (NFV) with Floodlight SDN controllers was adopted for the implementation of DNRCM with embedded rule-base in Open vSwitch engines. Fourth, QoS evaluation is carried out experimentally. Considering the non-recursive queuing delays with SDN isolation (logical), a lower queuing delay (19.65%) is observed. Without logical isolation, the average queuing delay is 80.34%. Without logical resource isolation, the fault tolerance yields 33.55%, while with logical isolation, it yields 66.44%. In terms of throughput, DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell offered 38.30%, 36.37%, and 25.53% respectively. Similarly, the DNRCM had an improved incremental scalability profile of 40.00%, while BCube and Recursive DCell had 33.33%, and 26.67% respectively. In terms of service availability, the DNRCM offered 52.10% compared with recursive BCube and DCell which yielded 34.72% and 13.18% respectively. The average delays obtained for DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell are 32.81%, 33.44%, and 33.75% respectively. Finally, workload utilization for DNRCM, recursive BCube, and DCell yielded 50.28%, 27.93%, and 21.79% respectively.

  • 신개간 토양을 성토한 호남작물시험장 전작포장에서 석회시용 유무와 유신근비료 시용을 달리하여 콩의 생육, 수량 및 종실 성분 함량에 미치는 영향을 조사한 바 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 신개간지 적황색 식량토 (pH 4.9)에서 토양산도를 중화량으로 교정하면 종실수량에서 32%의 증수효과를 보였다. 2. 토양산도 교정에 따른 유산근 비료의 수량증수효과는 과인산석회 31%, 유안 11%, 석고 3%의 순이었으며 교정치 않았을 경우에는 고토석회 47%, 과인산석회 22%, 석고 15%의 순이었다. 3. 종실의 단백질 함량은 석회무시용구보다 석회시용구에서 많았으며 함황비료의 시용효과도 인정되었으나, 지방함량은 큰 차이를 인정 할수 없었다. 4. 석회 시용구에서 유산근 비료의 효과가 큰 것은 과인산석회와 유안이었으며 개량제로는 석고가 좋았고, 석회무시용구에서는 고토석회와 과인산석회가 우수하였다.

위암환자의 치료 후 식사 경험 및 후미각 변화의 정성적 탐색 (Qualitative Exploration of Dietary Characteristics and Changes in Taste and Smell in Post-Surgical Gastric Cancer Patients)

  • To develop customized food products for gastric cancer patients, it is crucial to understand their dietary characteristics and changes in their perception of smell and taste due to their condition. This study conducted in-depth interviews and administered olfactory and gustatory tests on 20 patients with gastric cancer. A control group of 20 healthy, gender and age matched individuals, was included for comparison. Patients reported difficulties in sustaining their appetite, particularly during chemotherapy. This could be attributed to gastrointestinal discomfort and an altered perception of smell and taste. The olfactory test revealed that cancer patients were significantly less sensitive than the control group. Also, a smaller number of participants in the cancer group were reported to have a normal taste function, which enabled them to perceive umami, one of the five basic taste compared to those in the control group. These findings demonstrated that gastric cancer patients experience post-surgical digestive issues, chemotherapy-induced changes in smell and taste, and appetite loss. To improve the quality of life of these patients and the efficacy of the treatment, it is necessary to consider not only their nutritional requirements but also other factors such as appetite loss and discomfort when developing meals specifically for them.

FATIGUE DESIGN OF BUTT-WELDED TUBULAR JOINTS

  • Recent deepwater offshore structures in Gulf of Mexico utilize butt welded tubular joints. Application of welded tubular joint includes tendons, production risers, and steel catenary risers. Fatigue life assessment of these joints becomes more critical because the structures to which they are attached are allowed to undergo cyclic and sometimes large displacements around an anchored position. Estimating the fatigue behavior of these tubular members in the design stage is generally conducted by using S-N curves specified in the codes and standards. Applying the stress concentration factor of the welded structure to S-N approach often results in very conservative assessment because the stress field acting on the tubular has a non-uniform distribution through the thickness. Fracture mechanics and fitness for service (FFS) technology have been applied in the design of the catenary risers. This technology enables the engineer to establish proper requirements on weld quality and inspection acceptance criteria to assure satisfactory structural integrity during its design life. It also provides guidance on proper design curves to be used and a methodology for accounting for the effects of non-uniform stress distribution through the wall thickness. An attempt was made to develop set of S-N curves based on fracture mechanics approach by considering non-uniform stress distribution and a threshold stress intensity factor. Series of S-N curves generated from this approach were compared to the existing S-N curves. For flat plate butt joint, the S-N curve generated from fracture mechanics matches with the IIW class 100 curve when initial crack depth was 0.5 mm (0.02"). Similar comparison with API X′ was made for tubular joint.. These initial crack depths are larger than the limits of inspection by current Non-destructive examination (NDE) means, such as Automatic Ultrasonic Inspection (AUT). Thus a safe approach can be taken by specifying acceptance criteria that are close to limits of sizing capability of the selected NDE method. The comparison illustrates conservatism built into the S-N design curve.

Enhancing the Reliability of OTT Viewing Data in the Golden Age of Streaming: A Small Sample AHP Analysis and In-Depth Interview

  • With the OTT media market growing rapidly, the significance of trustworthy data verification and certification cannot be emphasized enough. This study delves into the crucial need for such measures in South Korea, exploring the steps involved, the technological and policy-related considerations, and the challenges that may arise once these measures are put into place. Drawing on in-depth interviews and the analytical hierarchy process (AHP), this study surveyed various stakeholder groups, both directly and indirectly related to OTT data authentication and certification. By assessing the severity of OTT data-related issues and identifying the requirements for reliability-improvement policies, participants shared their valuable insights and opinions on this pressing matter. The survey results clearly indicate a divided opinion among stakeholders and industry experts on the reliability of OTT data, with some expressing trust while others remain skeptical. However, there was a consensus that advertising-based AVOD is more reliable than SVOD. By analyzing the priorities of authentication and verification, this study paves the way for the establishment and operation of a Korean MRC (KMRC), centered on the OTT media industry. The KMRC will serve as a vital platform for ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of OTT data in South Korea, providing businesses and industry players with a reliable source of information for informed decision-making. This study highlights the pressing need for reliable data authentication and certification in the rapidly growing OTT media market, and provides a persuasive case for the establishment of a KMRC in South Korea to meet this critical need.

매립석탄재 활용 CLSM의 관 뒤채움재 적용성 평가 (Assessment of Controlled Low Strength Material using Pond Ash for Pipe Backfill Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 매립석탄재를 활용한 유동성 채움재 실용화 기술개발의 일환으로서 매립석탄재의 입도 분포 및 미립분 함량등의 물성에 따른 유동성 채움재의 유동성 및 재료분리 저항성, 강도발현성 등의 특성을 검토하고자 하였으며, 채취된 매립석탄재의 물성 분석 결과 밀도 및 입도 분포의 특성은 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 3종의 매립석탄재를 대상으로 유동성 채움재 배합 및 특성을 평가한 결과 ACI 229R에서 규정하는 품질을 충족시키기 위한 배합조건은 상이한 것으로 나타났다. 배합요인별에 따라 유동성 채움재의 특성을 평가한 결과 매립석탄재의 입도분포 특성 및 미립분 함량에 주로 영향을 받는 것으로 확인되었으며, 조립질의 매립석탄재(PA-3)의 경우 ACI 229R에서 규정하는 요구성능을 충족시키는 배합 조건은 도출되지 않았으나, 입도 전처리를 통한 미분 함량 증가 및 세립질의 입도분포 구성을 통한 유동성 채움재의 배합성 평가에 대해 검토할 필요가 있을 것으로 사료된다.

대통령기록디지털아카이브 플랫폼 연구 (A Study on the Presidential Digital Archive Platform)

  • 본 연구는 대통령 지식 인프라를 연계하고 통합하여 관련 정보와 데이터를 적극적으로 공유 및 개방하는 '대통령디지털아카이브 플랫폼' 구축의 필요성을 제기한다. 대통령디지털아카이브 플랫폼은 대통령기록을 매개로 '대통령기록관', '대통령 관련 기록 소장기관' 그리고 '이용자'가 상호작용할 수 있는 '거버넌스 플랫폼'으로 대통령기록의 특성과 가치를 널리 알리고, 새로운 패러다임을 창출할 수 있는 계기를 마련할 수 있을 것이다. 이를 위해 '대통령기록포털 분석'과 '대통령 관련 기록 소장기관 분석'을 진행하여 대통령디지털아카이브 플랫폼 구축 시 개선점과 요구사항을 파악하고, 국내외 '디지털아카이브 플랫폼 사례분석'을 통해 시사점을 도출하여 대통령기록서비스 강화를 위한 방안을 논하였다. 마지막으로 그 결과를 바탕으로 플랫폼 구축을 위한 단계별 실행전략을 제시하였다.
