  • High dynamic range (HDR) technology has been drawing attention in the field of imaging and consumer entertainment. As tools for capturing and creating HDR contents, encoding, and transmission evolve to support HDR formats, various display capabilities are being developed and increased. Hence, there is need for remapping native HDR imagery for display on lower quality legacy standard dynamic range (SDR) displays. This operation is referred to as tone mapping. In this paper, we present a sectional tone mapping method by Lenzen, and expand upon a tone mapping approach to improve temporal stability while maintaining picture quality. Compared to the existing block-based sectional tone mapping, our method uses the edge awareness-based tone mapping. We estimate the performance of the objective metric on temporal flickering. The experimental result shows that the algorithm maintains a smoother relationship between the output luminance values, and this reveals success in reducing halos and improving temporal stability with adopted edge aware filtering.

  • A technique which uses the energy for a long time have been recognized as a important problem in embedded system with restricted battery. Recently the energy consumption is increased by using a large size of TFT-LCD and touch screen in embedded system. In this paper, we studied the frame buffer monitoring which can be reduced an energy consumption in GUI. The frame buffer monitoring technique is the energy degrade plan which adjusts Refresh-rate and Backlight. The technique must guarantee the quality of screen.

  • This experiment was carried out to determine the effect of harvesting date on the forage yield and quality of different rye (Secale cereale L.) cultivars. The experiment was conducted in split plot design with three replications. The main plots consisted of two harvesting dates 20th and 30th April. The subplots consisted of five rye cultivars from different maturity groups such as 'Kodiak (Late)'. 'Koolgrazer (Early)', 'Danko (Late)', 'Homil22 (Medium)' and 'Olhomil (Early)' Dry matter (DM) contents of 17.8% at early harvesting were lower 2.2% than at late harvesting. But crude protein (CP) of 18.9% and total digestible nutrients (TDN) contents of 65.5% at early harvesting were higher 2.3% and 3.0% than those at late harvesting, respectively. There were significant differences in DM, CP and TDN contents among the rye cultivars tested (p<0.05). The contents of fiber components at early harvesting were lower than those at late harvesting. The acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), cellulose and acid detergent lignin (ADL) contents at early harvesting were lower than those at late harvesting, and hemicellulose contents at early harvesting was higher than that at late harvesting. The fiber component of early maturing cultivars such as 'Koolgrazer' and 'Olhomil' were higher than those of the others. Dry matter, CP, in vitro digestible dry matter (IVDDM) and TDN yields at early harvesting were lower than those at late harvesting, and the yield of early maturing cultivars were higher than those of the others. In this study, the results of this study indicate that forage production technology in combination with early maturing rye cultivar and late harvesting could enhance both production and quality of rye.

  • Soil was regarded as infinite resources but recently, soil is considered as invaluable resources that we need to protect and conserve. Main objective of this research was to evaluate soil value in terms of soil carbon contents. Soil was classified into forest, paddy, upland, and grass. Carbon contents in each soil was calculated based on soil chemical properties. Calculated soil carbon contents was ranged $15.31-108.86mg\;kg^{-1}$. Based on soil carbon contents, soil value was assumed adapting economic concepts. Calculated total soil value based on soil carbon contents was about 18.46 trillion won. Among others, carbon contents in forest was the highest and value was assumed 11.95 trillion won followed by paddy field (3.7 trillion won).

  • This study investigated the effects of low-dose electron beam irradiation treatment on the physicochemical and sensorial properties of imported navel oranges during storage at $20^{\circ}C$ for 12 days. The samples were irradiated at doses of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 kGy, after which changes in color value, hardness, Brix/acid ratio, total sugar contents, reducing sugar contents, vitamin C contents, and sensory evaluation were investigated. There were no significant differences between non-irradiated and irradiated samples in terms of color value, Brix/acid ratio, total sugar contents, total reducing sugar contents, and vitamin C contents. Hardness of irradiated samples significantly decreased in the early storage period in an irradiation dose-independent manner, and the difference between non-irradiated and irradiated samples decreased again at the end of storage. For the sensory evaluation, there was no significant difference between non-irradiated and irradiated samples up to 0.6 kGy, and all sensory item scores decreased at the end of the storage period regardless of irradiation. These results suggest that electron beam irradiation below 0.6 kGy does not affect physicochemical and sensory properties during storage at $20^{\circ}C$. Thus, electron beam irradiation up to 0.6 kGy applied to imported navel oranges is the optimum dose for minimizing quality changes and disinfestation treatment.

  • This study investigated the effects of low-dose electron beam irradiation treatment on physicochemical and sensorial properties of imported navel oranges during storage at $3^{\circ}C$ for 45 days. The samples were irradiated at doses of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 kGy, and changes in their color values, hardness, Brix/acid ratio, total sugar contents, reducing sugar contents, vitamin C contents, and sensory evaluation were investigated. There were no significant differences between non-irradiated and irradiated samples in terms of color values, Brix/acid ratio, total sugar contents, total reducing sugar contents, and vitamin C contents. Hardness of irradiated sample at 1 kGy decreased significantly in the early storage period, but the difference between non-irradiated and irradiated samples decreased again at the end of storage. For the sensory evaluation, scores of color, sweetness, flavor, and overall acceptability decreased as irradiation dose and storage period increased. Samples irradiated at over 0.8 kGy showed low preference in all scores except color. These results suggest that electron beam irradiation below 0.6 kGy does not affect physicochemical and sensory properties; thus, electron beam irradiation up to 0.6 kGy in imported navel oranges is optimum for minimizing quality changes and disinfestation treatment simultaneously.
