Purpose: This study aimed to explore the perspectives of frontline nurses working during the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Methods: An online qualitative study was conducted using a pragmatic approach. The data were collected in August 2021. Registered Korean nurses who provided direct nursing care to patients with confirmed COVID-19 were eligible for this study. An online survey was used to gather free-text data, which were then analyzed using machine-based network analysis and summative content analysis. Results: The analysis examined the responses of 126 participants and led to the identification of six prominent themes. These themes were further classified into three distinct levels: personal, task, and organizational. The identified themes are as follows: "collapse of personal life," "being overwhelmed by the numerous roles required," "personal protective equipment was sufficiently provided, but that is not enough," "changes in interprofessional collaboration," "inappropriate workforce management," and "diverted allocation of healthcare services and resources." Providing services using kiosks is actively carried out between suppliers and consumers. These service processes have recently begun to play a dominant role in transactions. However, previous self-service technology (SST) studies or kiosks have not fully reflected the changing environment surrounding these different technologies. To cover the updated business environments, we combined qualitative and quantitative research methods. Through qualitative research and a review of previous studies, the variables emphasized as motivations and constraints for kiosks use and those that can be newly illuminated were selected for this study. We then applied the variables to the research model to assess their influence. In terms of the motivations for using kiosks, the results suggest that perceived usefulness and compatibility as service quality, forced use, and perceived service providers' efficiency as provider polices, absorptive capacity, and habit as an individual characteristic and social influence as a subjective norm have a significant effect on the attitude toward kiosks. In terms of constraints, difficult to use and need for interaction predicts the attitude toward kiosks. Attitude toward kiosks, perceived behavioral control, and social influence are directly related to the intention to use kiosks. Lastly, intention to use kiosks plays a significant role as an antecedent of revisit intention. Using these empirical results, we propose both academic and practical implications for future kiosks use.

This study investigated awareness of competency-based education in Korean medicine hospital residents who must simultaneously undergo training and assist medical students in clinical practice. Methods: This was a qualitative research that was conducted using focus group interviews (FGIs) to investigate the awareness of demands for improvement in competency-based Korean medicine education in Korean medicine hospital. To apply the principles and procedures of FGIs, a semi-structured questionnaire was developed. Data analysis was conducted using the five steps of framework analysis. Results: According to contents analysis, first competency-based education that reflects actual clinical practice tasks is needed. Second, sufficient basic skill mastery education must be reinforced. Third, an intermediate curriculum that mediates clinical practice and basic education is needed. Fourth, the Objective Structured Clinical Examination and Clinical Performance Examination must be expanded to prepare for the Korean medicine doctor practical test. Conclusions: Korean medicine residents reported the gap between clinical practice and use of knowledge and skills acquired in the curriculum while acting as direct observers and educations of clinical clerkship in hospitals. Based on this exploratory study it is necessary to conduct research on the educational competency of Korean medicine residents who play an important role as educational leaders in Korean medicine clinical practice training.
This study aims to identify the difference between the actual characteristics of urban station influence areas and the recognition of the importance of such characteristics in planning, by analyzing the importance of transit-oriented development (TOD) planning factors that influence the use of public transportation. In terms of the methodology for the assessment, this study gives in-depth discussions over the validity of assessment methods that utilize quantitative data and those that rely on qualitative surveys of experts. Based on such discussions, the study analyzes the importance of the actual characteristics of station influence areas (quantitative) and the characteristics in planning identified by experts (qualitative), thereby suggesting implications for the orientations for future development of station influence areas.
