This study is a qualitative case study aiming at understanding and finding out influential factors and barriers when school teachers choose Environmental Education as their Creative Discretionary Activities. To do this, this study focuses on the process of two teachers' choices of the Creative Discretionary Activities in two other elementary schools. The results of this research are follows. Two teachers' choices are affected by several influential factors, divided into external factors and internal factors. External influential factors include culture of school and education, media, chief education officers, parents and school. Internal influential factors are teachers' value and philosophy of education, teachers' experiences, teachers' capacity. These influential factors' forces aren't the same with each other. These influential factors, are influenced by educational, social, national, local, and school level indicated by Taylor et al's (1974) classification criterion. Especially, however, Korea's particular educational environment focusing on university entrance examination strongly affects teachers' choice. School factors also has a big strong effect on teachers' choice. Among others internal actors are the most serious influential factor affecting on teachers' choice.

The goal of this study is to understand the experiences of emigration to Vietnam for Korean older males through a qualitative case study. The specific research questions are following. Firstly, what do they experience through emigration to Vietnam? Secondly, what are the meanings of emigration to Vietnam for them? Thirdly, what are the contextual meanings of it? To explore these questions, the data were collected through diverse data collection methods including in-depth interviews with seven research participants for eleven months. Each case was carefully examined and summarized in the within-case analysis and major issues appeared in each case were described in the cross-case analysis before the reconstitution of story-telling considering a holistic context on the older males' experiences of emigration to Vietnam. The six integrated themes are 'Motivation and background of immigration', 'Acculturation', 'Social network', 'Meaning of work', 'Family' and 'Spirituality and attitude to the life', 'Perceptions on death'. Finally, the critical results were summarized before indicating limits and implications of this study and then some suggestions for following studies are summarized on the conclusion.

This study is to examine the process of divorce and remarriage as well as the remarried life after divorce of Korean immigrants in Chicago area. Researchers interviewed in depth 9 remarried Korean immigrants with adolescent stepchildren: 7 women and 2 men. The qualitative interview scripts were analyzed and categorized by case study methods. The case analysis revealed 17 subcategories resulting in 5 core categories: reasons for divorce, remarriage as new choice of life, conflicts in remarried life, coping resources, and stable stage of remarried life. Based on these results, possible intervention strategies were suggested for the social workers working with remarried Korean immigrants.

The purpose of this study is to investigate about exploring diversity of methodology in security research focused on the current status and applications of qualitative inquiry. Expenses to take advantage of a variety of qualitative research techniques in the field is divided, and explore the possibility of applying the security research. Expenses compared to quantitative research, qualitative research on the utilization is very low, and to perform a qualitative study in-depth interviews focused on morphological aspects of research and a paucity of practical deep and lacks specificity. Expense of qualitative research in various fields is presented challenges to Creswell(1998, 2007, 2013) proposed five kinds of qualitative research types narrative research, phenomenological research, grounded theory research, ethnographic research, case study research, look for it in the security field. Expenses theorize that it may lead to practical changes in the security field, causing an in-depth exploration of the changes in the escort industry. Expense opportunity to identify the social and cultural values in security field and security research. Varied and in-depth qualitative research through field and industry and the complementary role of security.

The purpose of this study is to understand the 'search' experiences of adoptive families. To understand their experiences in searching for birth families, the researchers made contacts with adoptive families who had tried the search before, got informed consents from them, and took in-depth interview with each family. The qualitative case study approach was taken to analyze the data collected. Data collected from five adoptive families were employed for within-case analysis and cross-case analysis. The themes emerged from cross-case analysis were 'the awareness of being adopted', 'curiosity explosion', 'the anxious waiting', 'the moment the truth was found', 'Indeed, I'm a real mom', and 'Then, there was a silence'. Based on the results of the study, the policy and practical guidelines to support the search of adoptive families were suggested. Also, the suggestions for the following studies were made to obtain more abundant information beyond the limitations of the study.

This study aims to examine the reasons of changes in motivation of pre-service teachers who major in environmental education. Qualitative case study methods were adopted to collect and analyze data from six(6) pre-service teachers in environmental education department. Researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with them on the levels of motivation toward their studios. The study results are as follows. The levels of motivation toward their studies were shown differently by each of the pre-service teachers. Some of the pre-service teachers reported that their levels of motivation toward environmental education had changed since the college entrance. The reasons for the changes include 'suitability of environmental education to personal propensity,' 'college courses they took', and 'personal experiences.' Some of the pre-service teachers reported that the levels of motivation for their majors did not changed since he or she was pursuing other goals rather than being an environmental educator.

This qualitative case study focuses on five small and medium-sized enterprises which have put family-friendly management into successful practice. Through in-depth unstructured interviews with five human resources managers and ten employees, we describe each firm's approach to work-life balance including working hour reductions, breaks, work flexibility, and parental leave to build an overall picture. We also discuss the four key factors of the CEO's role; democratic communication between all staff, the usefulness of family-friendly certification as a starting point; and governmental support for promoting work-life balance at small and medium-sized enterprises. Finally, we suggest three political implications of governmental support, namely CEO education, changing the criteria of family-friendly certification to redefine working hours and work flexibility, and incentives specifically for small to medium-sized enterprises.

This study is a clinical single case study of the application of Theraplay approach for the treatment of children with eating disorder based on Polyvagal Theory. The first research question is how children with eating disorder change through Theraplay. The second research question is to analyze what the therapeutic factors are for changes in children with eating disorder. To do this, I used a qualitative case study method that explores a small number of cases closely and reveals the case deeply. As a result, the client has a sense of security in Theraplay session, expands the window of tolerance and develops a social engagement system. Through these, client become increasingly adaptable and overcome eating disorder. The results of this study can contribute to neuroscience validation of the counseling effect.

In order to examine the ways to improve the efficiency of R&D investment, this paper presents analysis on both quantitative and qualitative efficiency of R&D projects. As Korea's R&D investment has significantly increased in recent years, the efficiency of R&D investment has attracted attention. In this paper, a Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) method is used to construct models for quantitative efficiency and qualitative efficiency analysis. Based on a cases of agricultural R&D projects of Korea, the efficiency of national R&D projects were analyzed and their quantitative and qualitative efficiencies are compared. As a result, statistically significant difference between quantitative and qualitative efficiency was found. Also, characteristics of Decision Making Units(DMUs) which can influence both quantitative and qualitative efficiency were identified. In particular, the stage of a R&D project has significant impact on R&D efficiency. This study suggests that in order to enhance R&D efficiency both quantitative and qualitative nature of outputs should be considered when measuring R&D efficiency.

This study investigated the educational culture experienced by married immigrant women in their own country, as well as their internalizing process of the educational culture in Korea, using a qualitative case study. The purpose of this study was to help married immigrant women solve the problem of acculturation based on their own educational and cultural experiences and to overcome limitations of previous studies, which dealt with the problem of acculturation superficially. Participants were 17 married immigrant women from eight countries who resided in Jeonnam and Jeonbuk provinces. They were selected by the sampling strategy of maximum variation. Data were collected through archives and in-depth interviews and analyzed using within-case analysis and cross-case analysis. The results showed that married immigrant women had no experience of attending private institutions and had good memories of their school life. Based on these kinds of experiences, they criticized Korean mothers who urged their children to attend private institutions. They respected their children's opinions and allowed their children to select private institutions. Despite married immigrant women apparently suffering from acculturation, they educate their children according to their own philosophy and method of education. That is, they solve the problem of acculturation actively and independently. Consequently, in order to help married immigrant women solve the problem of acculturation, it is necessary to respect the difference in the cultures and frame a system that develops the activity and subjectivity of married immigrant women.
