A STRAIN GAUGE ANALYSIS OF IMPLANT-SUPPORTED CANTILEVERED FIXED PROSTHESIS UNDER DISTAL STATIC LOAD

  • Statement of problem. Unreasonable distal cantilevered implant-supported prosthesis can mask functional problems of reconstruction temporarily, but it can cause serious strain and stress around its supported implant and surrounding alveolar bone. Purpose. The purpose of this study was to evaluate strain of implants supporting distal cantilevered fixed prosthesis with two different cantilevered length under distal cantilevered static load. Material and methods. A partially edentulous mandibular test model was fabricated with auto-polymerizing resin (POLYUROCK; Metalor technologies, Stuttgart, Swiss) and artificial denture teeth (Endura; Shofu inc., Kyoto, Japan). Two implants-supported 5-unit screw-retained cantilevered fixed prosthesis was made using standard methods with Type III gold alloy (Harmony C&B55; Ivoclar-vivadent, Liechtenstein, Germany) for superstructure and reinforced hard resin (Tescera; Ivoclar-vivadent, Liechtenstein, Germany) for occlusal material. Two strain gauges (KFG-1-120-C1-11L1M2R; KYOWA electronic instruments, Tokyo, Japan) were then attached to the mesial and the distal surface of each standard abutment with adhesive (M-bond 200; Tokuyama, Tokyo, Japan). Total four strain gauges were attached to test model and connected to dynamic signal conditioning strain amplifier (CTA1000; Curiotech inc., Paju, Korea). The stepped $20{\sim}100$ N in 25 N increments, cantilevered static load 8mm apart (Group I) or 16mm apart (Group II), were applied using digital push-pull gauge (Push-Pull Scale & Digital Force Gauge, Axis inc., Seoul, Korea). Each step was performed ten times and every strain signal was monitored and recorded. Results. In case of Group I, the strain values were surveyed by $80.7{\sim}353.8{\mu}m$ in Ch1, $7.5{\sim}47.9{\mu}m/m$ in Ch2, $45.7{\sim}278.6{\mu}m/m$ in Ch3 and $-212.2{\sim}718.7{\mu}m/m$ in Ch4 depending on increasing cantilevered static load. On the other hand, the strain values of Group II were surveyed by $149.9{\sim}612.8{\mu}m/m$ in Ch1, $26.0{\sim}168.5{\mu}m/m$ in Ch2, $114.3{\sim}632.3{\mu}m/m$ in Ch3, and $-323.2{\sim}-894.7{\mu}m/m$ in Ch4. Conclusion. A comparative statistical analysis using paired sample t-test about Group I Vs Group II under distal cantilevered load shows that there are statistical significant differences for all 4 channels (P<0.05).

  • This study had been performed to estimate for vibration characteristics of the Power Motor Coaches with Diesel-Hydraulic Drive and to secure a dynamic characteristic construction technology of another rolling stock. Air bags, springs and dampers of Bogie are carefully reviewed in order to improve ride quality. Dynamic analysis had been performed using VAMPIRE program, which had been developed by BRR, and the analysis results had been compared with test data to verify.

  • 교류전력을 측정하기 위하여 알고 있는 직류전력과 동시에 비교할 수 있는 전력비교기를 개발하였으며 이 비교기를 기본으로 하여 정밀 전력계와 전자식 전력량계를 교정하거나 시험검사 할 수 있는 기준시스템인 전력표준기를 개발하였다. 특히 Push-Pull 기술을 이용한 전력비교기는 간단하며 정확도가 매우 높은 것으로 평가되었으며 전력비교기의 전체 불확도는 30 $\mu$ W/VA로 평가되었다.

Steel - concrete bond potentials in self-compacting concrete mixes incorporating dolomite powder

  • The main objective of this research was to evaluate the potentials of self-compacting concrete (SCC) mixes to develop bond strength. The investigated mixes incorporated relatively high contents of dolomite powder replacing Portland cement. Either silica fume or fly ash was used along with the dolomite powder in some mixes. Seven mixes were proportioned and cast without vibration in long beams with 10 mm and 16 mm steel dowels fixed vertically along the flowing path. The beams were then broken into discrete test specimens. A push-put configuration was adopted for conducting the bond test. The variation of the ultimate bond strength along the flowing path for the different mixes was evaluated. The steel-concrete bond adequacy was evaluated based on normalized bond strength. The results showed that the bond strength was reduced due to Portland cement replacement with dolomite powder. The addition of either silica fume or fly ash positively hindered further degradation as the dolomite powder content increased. However, all SCC mixes containing up to 30% dolomite powder still yielded bond strengths that were adequate for design purpose. The test results demonstrated inconsistent normalized bond strength in the case of the larger diameter compared to the smaller one.

  • 본 논문에서는 사람의 손동작을 이용해 전자기기를 제어할 수 있도록 다중 도플러 레이다와 머신러닝의 일종인 SVM (Support Vector Machine)을 이용한 손동작 인식 기술을 제안하였다. 하나의 도플러 레이다는 간단한 손동작만을 인식할 수 있는데 반해, 다중 도플러 레이다는 레이다 위치에 따라 각각 다른 도플러 효과가 발생되므로, 이를 이용하여 다양한 손동작을 인식할 수 있다. 또한, 머신러닝 기법을 이용하여 손동작을 분류하면 손동작 인식의 성공률을 높일 수 있다. 다중 도플러 레이다와 머신러닝을 이용한 손동작 인식 시스템의 구현 가능성을 확인하기 위하여 두 개의 도플러 레이다, NI DAQ USB-6008, MATLAB을 이용한 실험 장치를 구성하였다. 구현된 실험 장치를 이용하여 Push, Pull, Right Slide 및 Left Slide의 4가지 손동작 인식 실험을 수행하였고, SVM 모델을 적용하여 손동작 인식의 높은 정확도를 확인하였다.

  • This study deals with an evaluation method for testing the robustness of the 4 kW commercial power electronic cooling system to the thermal environment. The power electronic cooling system consists of a cascaded push-pull DC / DC converter, a three-phase DC / AC inverter, and an electric compressor. The system manufactured by the thermal environment evaluation test (heat distribution test, thermal impact test, high temperature operation test, temperature cycle test, low temperature operation test) for the commercial electric power cooling system for commercial vehicle proves that it is robust against thermal environment.

Structural Analysis of a Composite Target-drone

  • A finite element analysis for the wing and landing gear of a composite target-drone air vehicle was performed. For the wing analysis, two load cases were considered: a 5g symmetric pull-up and a -1.5g symmetric push-over. For the landing gear analysis, a sinking velocity of 1.4 m/s at a 2g level landing condition was taken into account. MSC/NASTRAN and LS-DYNA were utilized for the static and dynamic analyses, respectively. Finite element results were verified by the static test of a prototype wing under a 6g symmetric pull-up condition. The test showed a 17% larger wing tip deflection than the finite element analysis. This difference is believed to come from the material and geometrical imperfections incurred during the manufacturing process.

L형 프리캐스트 콘크리트 벽패널로 채운 기존 철근 콘크리트 골조 구조물의 전단 거동 분석 (Analysis on the Shear Behavior of Existing Reinforced Concrete Frame Structures Infilled with L-Type Precast Wall Panel)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a new seismic resistant method by using precast concrete wall panels for existing low-rise, reinforced concrete beam-column buildings such as school buildings. Three quasi-static hysteresis loading tests were experimentally performed on one unreinforced beam-column specimen and two reinforced specimens with L-type precast wall panels. The results were analyzed to find that the specimen with anchored connection experienced shear failure, while the other specimen with steel plate connection principally manifested flexural failure. The ultimate strength of the specimens was determined to be the weaker of the shear strength of top connection and flexural strength at the critical section of precast panel. In this setup of L-type panel specimens, if a push loading is applied to the reinforced concrete column on one side and push the precast concrete panel, a pull loading from upper shear connection is to be applied to the other side of the top shear connection of precast panel. Since the composite flexural behavior of the two members govern the total behavior during the push loading process, the ultimate horizontal resistance of this specimen was not directly influenced by shear strength at the top connection of precast panel. However, the RC column and PC wall panel member mainly exhibited non-composite behavior during the pull loading process. The ultimate horizontal resistance was directly influenced by the shear strength of top connection because the pull loading from the beam applied directly to the upper shear connection. The analytical result for the internal shear resistance at the connection pursuant to the anchor shear design of ACI 318M-11 Appendix-D except for the equation to predict the concrete breakout failure strength at the concrete side, principally agreed with the experimental result based on the elastic analysis of Midas-Zen by using the largest loading from experiment.

다이렉트 듀티비 제어에 의한 태양광 가로등용 충전제어기에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Charge Controller for Solar Street Lamp by Direct Duty Ratio Control)

  • MPPT가 미적용된 기존 태양광 가로등은 최대 30%의 출력저하를 유발한다고 보고되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 출력 저하로부터 태양광발전시스템의 효율을 향상시키기 위해 다이렉트 듀티비 제어 알고리즘을 적용한 250W 태양광가로등을 위한 충전제어기를 제안하였으며, PWM 제어기와 전력 토폴로지를 다루고, MPPT 알고리즘을 분석하였다. 전력변환부는 푸쉬풀 강압 컨버터로 구성하고, PWM 제어기는 8비트 MCU를 기반으로 해서 제조 원가를 낮추도록 하였다. 다이렉트 듀티비 제어 알고리즘을 적용한 PWM 제어기는 태양광모듈의 최대전력점을 지속적으로 추적하여 출력 전력을 증가시킨다. 실험 결과, 241W 태양광시뮬레이터 환경에서 97.1~97.4%의 MPPT 효율을 나타내었으며, 실제 응용제품에 적용할 수 있을 것으로 예상된다.

융합 미디어 서비스 제공을 위한 통합 프로파일 및 인증제어 기술 연구 (A Converged Profile and Authentication Control Scheme for Supporting Converged Media Service)

  • 본 논문에서는 유무선 통합 환경에서 융합 미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위한 통합 프로파일 및 인증 제어 기술로써, 시스템 구현을 통한 결과를 제시한다. 가입자의 접속, 서비스, 이동성, 방송형 프로파일을 관리하고 개방형 API(Application Program Interface)를 통해서 제3사업자에게 가입자 프로파일 정보를 PUSH/PULL 방식으로 제공하는 방안을 제안한다. 이때 개방형 API는 웹 서비스, REST(Representational State Transfer) 기반으로 구현하여 제3사업자가 쉽게 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 방식을 제안한다. 또한, 한번 접속 인증에 성공하면 액세스 망이 변하거나 혹은 IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) 기반의 서비스 망에 접속하게 될 때 동일한 인증 정보를 유지할 수 있는 SSO(Single Sign-On) 기능을 제안한다. 제안된 방식은 CUPS(Converged User Profile Server) 시험 네트워크 구현 연구를 통하여 기능 검증 및 성능 분석을 수행하였다.
