The QC circle is a small group organized for accomplishing the company's purpose of improving constitutions of the enterprise, developing the capabilities of the mem-bers and improving human relations. The present study intends to investigate the current situations and problems of the QC circle and to develop most effective models for QC circle movement in Korea. For this purpose the author surveyed 93 QC circles and interviewed more than 20 QC circle members and managers. The author has concluded that it is necessary to: 1. establish the authority and duty of the QC divisions. 2. train the top and middle management, especially the indirect divisions manage-ment. 3. motivate the QC circle members for achieving their purpose.

Automatic weld bead removal system is consisted of bead removal tool, bead profile measurement system and tool motion control system. In this paper, design of weld bead profile measurement system which is used for automatic weld bead removal system is described. The system measures the weld bead position, normal vector of the auto-body and weld bead profile. The optical sensor with structured laser beam is used as a sensor and comparison of the sensor that can be used for this purpose is discussed in detail. The measurement process and the related software developed for this purpose are also described. A median filter, average filter and long line filters are used and their effects in bead profile measurement are discussed. The measurement system is integrated into automatic bead removal system and is used to remove weld bead in rear pillar of automotive body. The whole system operates well in automotive body assembly line and thus the system is proved to be good for this purpose.

Proto-type seismic isolation rubber bearings are investigated through nonlinear hyperelasticity finite elements using the ANSYS general purpose structural analysis code. The purpose of the analysis was to determine the maximum horizontal strain range which can be obtained with a 250KN hydraulic actuator. A Mooney-Rivlin strain energy density function was used as a constitutive law for rubber. The results are compared with the test data available in the literature and found to in good agreement only in the higy strain range. The analysis results can be used with conservatism to predict the necessary force required to a specified displacement such as the purpose of this analysis. However, more precise constitutive model will be required to simulate the bearing behavior with accuracy in the mid-range strain.

Multi-purpose freight car is very useful to overcome the unbalance between freight demand and freight car supply. it means removable container is the auxiliary device to make flat car and container and it will be able to transport the container and flat freight. The study is analyzed the freight car operation frequency and freight volume and researched the efficient operation plan. The multi-purpose freight car will contribute in improved the seasonal and the item demand fluctuation and solved the problem of decrease utilization of the open freight car.

Recently, much attention is paid on the office design be-cause the real world of work has undergone substantial changes, in both spatial and temporal aspects, due to the in-troduction of data processing technologies and new types of production. Today's renewed objectives of office are to define new physical space for work, to deal with economic and organizational changes. In the period of information, the purpose of an office is to improve the productivity for employers employees the comfort and vitality. Today's intellecture resources are necessary for the development in the modern business. The Hypid office, as an alternative in order to correspond the rapid changes, is proposed to give the space for satisfy-ing the basic desires of a human being-eating, resting and working. Accompanying with flexibility and comfortability, this office should include the space for personal purpose and the space for social purpose. Applying the concept of comfort like at home leads to re-lease a worker's stress from the society of information. The future office which is to enhance the quality of culture by in-tegrating indivisual, domestic and social life should commu-nicate efficiency, movement, energy, transformation.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to suggest new directions for public health programs in rural and remote areas. Method: For this purpose, a literature review was done including articles, research reports, and master theses and doctoral dissertations. Results: Public health programs in rural remote areas were found to be very insufficient in terms of professional personnel and program diversity. Especially, there is a lack of adequate manpower and infra-structure in the public health sub-centers at the township and sub county level. Although community health practitioners at the village level are providing public health service beyond medical care, their coverage rate is very low. Conclusion: The results suggest a need to strengthen the function of public health sub-centers to provide comprehensive public health service based on the life-cycle approach. For this new change, legal and political support must be developed.

Independent suspension axle and final reduction gear for special-purpose vehicles such as a armored vehicles are almost imported in Germany etc. so, developing them is necessary to save cost. In severe condition (open fields, water surface driving, obstacle pass), special-purpose vehicles must work well. Drop box, axle and final reduction gear performed static analysis. We know that is possible weight reduction. The purpose of this paper is to find out the optimal shape of final reduction gear's case by means of response surface methodology. The response surface method is the statistical method which can be applied to the non-sensitivity based optimization. The response surface which is constructed by the least square method contains only the polynomial terms so that the global maximum and minimum points are easily obtained.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the subjective opinions related to NVP experience in woman. Method: The research method used was Q-methodology. The statement of self-reference was derived from face to face interviews with 10 womans. Statement were categorized by researcher according to semantics. Twenty-seven of the self reference statement from categories of the Q-population were selected. Twenty-five of pregnant womans were selected by consideration of diversity in sociodemographic background. Based on a 1 to 9 point scale, the selected pregnant womans were made to participate in. Q-sorting. Analysis of Q-type was obtained by use of the QUANAL program. Result: There are three type of NVP experience of Korean womans. The first type focused on family support relate to NVP coping. The second type focused on physical self regulation related to NVP coping. The third type focused on actual strategy related to NVP coping. Conclusion: It is suggested that the results of this study may contribute to the development strategies for the purpose of decreasing the incidence of NVP.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of knowledge management on the organizational performance by using structural equation model and to suggest new integrated framework about knowledge management by understanding the determinants of organizational capability to knowledge management in social capital point of view. To serve the purpose of this study, we conducted the extensive survey on 256 Korean companies in diverse industries including the manufacturing. Specifically, from the empirical result of this study, we identified that knowledge management performs more actively as the level of social capital increases, and the company that achieve knowledge management actively shows relatively higher performance than one that do not. On the other hand, among the sub-factors composing the social capital, Vision/Purpose/Value and Norms of Reciprocity directly affect to the organizational performance without knowledge management.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the potential asymmetry in price competition between the geographically defined submarkets of the lodging industry, namely the traditional and alternative accommodation facilities. Design/methodology/approach The study utilizes a spatial econometric model to empirically test for the hypothesized asymmetry in price competition. Property-level panel data on hotels and alternative accommodation facilities collected from a major online travel agency (OTA: Agoda.com) was used for this purpose. Findings Result of the analysis shows significant intra-segment spatial price competition among the properties, that is, within hotels and within alternative accommodation submarkets, respectively. However, the inter-segment competition was found to be asymmetric as hypothesized. Room rates of hotels are influenced by prices of geographically close alternative accommodations, but the reverse does not hold. Implications for practitioners and suggestions for future research are discussed along with the findings of the study.
