This study aims to examine the effect of talent types on the purchasing behaviour of beauty-service products in 367 adults(female and male). The present study is the first to consider both talent types and the purchasing behaviour of beauty-service products correlates to appearance management behaviour. Frequency analysis showed that the mean of 8 talent types of 367 participants was 3.324. The highest talent type of 367 participants was interpersonal talent, the lowest talent type was logical-mathematical talent among 8 talent types. There were statistically significant relationships between the talent types(specially, bodily-kinesthetic talent and interpersonal talent) and the purchasing criteria of beauty-service products on the correlation analysis. And the effects of 8 talent types on the purchasing frequency of 4 beauty-service products were significant on the regression analysis, specifically, the results showed that the most significant among 8 talent factors was the interpersonal talent, next, the bodily-kinesthetic was. Thus, the more purchasing frequency of beauty-services products, the higher interpersonal talent were, and the better affinity with others were. As a results, the interpersonal talent factor and bodily-kinesthetic talent factor among 8 talent factors were ultimately affecting the appearance management behaviour. The higher the score, it was concluded that the subject was more active in beauty-related behavior. Conclusively, the appearance is a form of personal asset for one's self-fulfillment, and strong and beautiful appearance is a medium to improve self-esteem and dominance. It is possessing a significant influence in personal satisfaction, self-identity, and social success.
The present study was implemented to understand high school girls' buying patterns of fashion products at online and offline shopping malls; and to obtain the information needed for the development of online and offline mall marketing strategies that are differentiated from each other. The study was conducted through a descriptive survey method using questionnaires. The sample consisted of 242 girls from four high schools located in Seoul. Descriptive statistics, cross-tabulation and a paired t-test were used for the analysis of the data. Results are as follows: First, most of the high school girls (82.2%) had experience of purchasing fashion products at online shopping malls. And, those who have purchasing experience at online shopping malls, compared to those who do not have such purchasing experience, showed a higher purchasing intension at online shopping malls. Second, both the degree of pre-purchase searching and ongoing searching was higher in online shopping than in offline shopping. Third, the quality of material, place produced, brand name, and store atmosphere/type were considered more in offline shopping than in online shopping. Shopping convenience and information service about the products were considered more in online shopping than in offline shopping. Fourth, the purchasing frequency of underwear and hair accessaries was higher at offline stores than online shopping malls, but the purchasing frequency of bags was higher in online stores than offline stores. When the differences between the purchasing patterns at online shopping malls and offline stores are considered carefully, marketing activities would be more effective.
In this study, 230 female college students in Seoul area were surveyed to evaluate their eating habits and behavior, physical activities, and patterns of purchasing diet/low-calorie food. Their body composition was also determined using bioelectrical impedance(Inbody 520). The subjects were divided into two groups according to their BMI index with a mean BMI of 20.2$\pm$1.5(normal) weight and 25.0$\pm$1.7(obesity). Overall, 85.7% of the subjects reported that the food they purchase depends more on their preferences than the nutritional value of the food. When the two groups were compared there was no significant difference in the frequency or experience of purchasing diet-foods. Indeed, 69.3% of all female college students had purchased diet foods, and most consumed these foods 2~3 times a week. Obese group preferred a savory taste, while normal group preferred a sweet taste. The majority of the subjects(80.8%) answered that they "read nutritional labels carefully upon purchasing diet food", and that they examined calories(61.8%) and total fat(48.5%) most carefully. Of the types of low-calorie/diet foods purchased, beverages were the most commonly obtained; followed by noodles, diet-bars, and snacks. The most commonly purchased low calorie snacks were "potato-type C(hot-flavor)" and "potato-type A(salty-flavor)", while the most commonly purchased diet-bars were "low calorie-type A"(55.3%) and "high protein-bar"(32.3%). The most commonly purchased noodles were "thick noodle type"(65.1%), while the most commonly purchased drinks were "cereal tea"(65.1%) and "mixed herb tea"(66.0%). Overall, factors such as self-esteem or the degree of body satisfaction, rather than obesity(BMI index) itself, were significantly correlated with the frequency of purchasing diet-foods.
This study surveyed university students in the Seoul and Kyonggi areas about their purchasing types and sale strategies for high quality ice cream products. The desire to buy new high quality ice cream was "moderate" (35.4%) followed by "quite a lot" (29.4%), showing that the students' interests and their desires for new high quality ice cream items were high. Among things to consider when buying ice cream, 39.2% answered that "taste" was most important, When the subjects were asked if they planned on revisiting an ice cream shop chain. 38.6% answered "quite a lot" or "very much" reflecting that their opinion on the image and service of the ice cream shop chain were very good. As for the influence of seasons on their purchasing of ice cream products, three times more students responded "quite a lot" or "very much" at 51.6% compared to "somewhat little" or "very much" (17.8%), showing that the subjects were responsive to seasonal influences, The subjects were also three times more likely (73.0%) to visit a cafe-type high quality ice cream store chain, Therefore such cafe-type chains are a way to increase sales and to overcome seasonal influences on purchasing. Finally the favorite food to eat with ice cream was cookies (51.3%).
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of VMD consciousness on importance of VMD components and clothing purchasing behaviors of university students. The research method was survey and subjects were 545 male and female university students in Chungnam province. The questionnaire consisted of 4 measuring instruments; VMD consciousness, importance of VMD components, clothing purchasing behaviors, and demographic attribution. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, $X^2$ test, t-test, cluster analysis, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test, using SPSS program. The results were as follows. First, university students had high VMD consciousness and attended to fashion trend, brand image, product information, and enjoyment of shopping, and felt appetite to purchase. Second, university students considered store arrangement and show window display as the important VMD components to purchase clothing. Third, university students were categorized into 3 consumer types(shopping/brand pursuit type, utilitarian information pursuit type, and trend/information pursuit type) by VMD consciousness. Forth, the consumer types by VMD consciousness showed many differences in importance of VMD components and clothing purchasing behaviors. Shopping/brand type considered show window display, cleanness and lighting/music/properties/color as more important VMD components, and used more money to purchase clothing and shopped more often than other consumer types.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of purchasing behavior on brand attitude, shopping satisfaction, and recommendation of herbal cosmetics consumer. Through judgment sampling method, selected 304 survey questionnaires were used for final analysis from herbal cosmetics consumer. With the collected data, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were performed by SPSS 14.0. The results of the analysis were summarized as follows. First, level of education no significant difference on purchasing behavior, but age, marital status, average income, and job type showed significant difference on purchasing behavior. Second, level of education and average income no significant difference on brand attitude, shopping satisfaction, and recommendation, but age, marital status, and job type showed significant difference on brand attitude, shopping satisfaction, and recommendation. Third, the reasonable purchase, conformity purchase, and conspicuous purchase impacts positively(+) influence, but impulse purchase impacts negatively(+) influence on brand attitude. Fourth, the rational purchase and conspicuous purchase impacts positively(+) influence on shopping satisfaction. Fifth, the conformity purchase and conspicuous purchase impacts positively(+) influence on recommendation.
The purpose of this study was conducted to improve middle school students' satisfaction on their uniform to provide basic information for the wearing condition. on their comfortable uniform. Survey was conducted on 532 boys' and girls' middle school students in Iksan City. This study analyzed the purchasing factors and modification, fitting evaluation, and satisfaction of comfortable uniform aspect of students. It was the questionnaire consisted of 18 questions in total. The results are as follows : First, boys' middle school students preferred 'activity' among the purchasing factors. Girls' middle school students preferred 'design' and 'activity' among the purchasing factors. Second, in purchasing types, boys' students bought the type of cooperative purchasing and the type of the school uniform special shop in girls' students. Third, 51.0% of the students interviewed have experienced to modify their uniforms. Since the non fashionable design and non suitable uniform length caused the students to modify their uniform. Also students did not satisfy the color and design in their comfortable uniforms. Thus school uniform maker should make that consider movement, color, design, functional elements and changing students' aesthetic sense.
Mandu has become more increasingly essential and popular. Various types of Mandu are on saleavailable for purchase and are receiving good response from customers. This study explored the buyers' perceptions and their usage behaviors regarding to Mandu. The results showed the followings: 1) The respondents considered Mandu a snack rather than a meal. 2) The perceptions of a meal were different by gender, age, annual income, and number of children. 3) Respondents frequently have consumed frozen Mandu more than handmade Mandu and the type of Mandu consumed differed by age, marriage, occupation and annual income. 4) Respondents generally preferred meat to vegetable for as the stuffing in Mandu and favorite stuffings differed by gender and age. 5) The 'snack factor' was the highest purchasing motive among three factors including 'meal', 'economy' and 'snack' factor. 6) The derived factors for Mandu purchasing attributes were 'safety', 'loyalty/practicality' and 'storage' factor. 'Loyalty/practicality' represented the highest among them and each purchasing attribute differed according to gender, marriage and annual income.
This study attempted to improve frying powder products based on 272 consumers' purchase conditions. Factor analysis by type was conducted on purchase attributes of consumers who purchased frying powder by categorizing them based on five factors-namely, convenience, information, diversity, safety, and economy. Five main factors were divided into four purchase attributes named various pursuit, convenience pursuit, economical pursuit, and inform/safety pursuit. Purchasing status of frying powder products was analyzed according to three independent variables such as age, meal preparation type, and purchase attributes. The top motivation for using frying powder was convenience. According to the importance-satisfaction analysis survey, taste, expiration date, and certification mark were chosen as highly important and high satisfaction characteristics for frying powder (p<0.001), whereas nutrition, oil absorption, adhesiveness, crispiness, origin, and food additives were highly important and low satisfaction characteristics (p<0.001). In the conjoint analysis, crispiness was the most important attribute of fried food.
This study was to identify the dimensions of consumer's purchasing motives and purchasing delay reasons toward casual hanbok. Other objective was to examine relationship between these variables and future purchasing intention. Th 22 purchasing motive questions and 19 purchasing delay reasons were selected through the result of self-questionnaire analysis. 302 purchaser and 297 consumers who delay for particular reasons in Pusan responsed to the second questionnaire of purchasing motives and purchasing delay reasons toward casual Hanbok. The results as follows: 1. For factor analysis 22 purchasing motive questions were subjected to the principle component analysis with orthogonal rotation after extraction of 6 major factors. Six dimensions are consciousness of nation goodness of design conformity with fashion charming apperance relaxation fo body and mind nation goodness of design conformity with fashion charming appearance relaxation of body and mind and pursuit of individuality. These factors explained 62.0% of total variables. 2. Consumer's purchasing motives such as consciousness of nation goodness of design charming appearance and relaxation of body and mind has predicting power to the re-purchasing intention of casual hanbok 3. For factor analysis 19 delay reason question were subjected to the principle component analysis with orthogonal rotation after extraction of 5 major factors. Five dimensions are non-fitness for occasion and body shape unsatisfaction with design unsatisfaction with price need of information search for better product and preference for traditional hangok. These factors explained 60.4% of total variables. 4. Delay reasons of unsatisfaction with design and price were positively related to the future purchasing intention. This delay reason is caused by forces external to the consumer and the consumer has engaged in information search. This result explained this type of consumer has the strong future purchasing intention.
