Al 6082-T6 MIG 용접에서 기공방지를 위한 용접공정 개발 (The Development of Welding Process to Prevent Porosity in MIG Welding of Al 6082-T6)

  • This paper was described on investigation to prevent porosity in high speed MIG Welding of Al 6082-T6. Porosity measurement was carried out by using image analysis of micrographs with the help of an analysis software. The main parameter was arc length and torch progressive angle. The porosity ratio was increased as arc length was increased. The arc length was increased depending upon the output voltage. By proper selection of pulse waveform parameter, the stable arc of one pulse one drop was generated. The porosity ratio of optimum condition in one pulse one drop was lower than high voltage condition. When torch progressive angle was an angle of advance $10^{\circ}$, porosity ratio was minium.

  • Major problems in welding Al-7020 include shrinkage, rpopositgy in welds and loss of strength in the heat affected zone. Thus it is important to examine the mechanical properties and reliability of welds. In this study, a series of experiments was carried out to determine the mechanical properties such as micro-hardness distribution, tensile strength, porosity and residual stress distribution of the Al-7020 weldment made by pulse-GMA welding. The resuts of the experiemnts are as folows. 1) The micro-hardness of weld metal and heat affected zone was lower than that of the base metal. 2) The tensile strength of the deposited metal was much lower than that of the base metal. 3) The porrosity in weld metal zone was negligible under the adopted conditsion of experiemnts. 4) The residual stress in the weld metal was lower than that of the heat affected zone, because the weld metal was softened. And the mciro-hardness distribution, the tensile strength and the residual stess distribution of the weldment in the as-welded condition were compared with those of the weldment after heat treatment.

  • Joining thin aluminum alloy is difficult using most wilding techniques. Many of problems associated burn-through by the high heat input Common welding techniques are TIG, MIG, and MIG-PULSE welding. The VP-GMAW provides more control of the heat balance in the voiding arc by taking advantage of the different arc characteristics obtained with each of the two polarities.   • Titanium and its alloys have excellent corrosion resistance, high strength to weight ratios and creep properties in high temperature, which make them using many various fields of application. Especially, pure titanium, which has outstanding resistance for the stress corrosion cracking, crevice corrosion, pitting and microbiologically influenced corrosion, brings out to the best material for the heat exchanger, ballast tank, desalination facilities, and so on. Responding to these needs, welding processes for titanium are also being used GTAW, GMAW, PAW, EBW, LBW, resistance welding and diffusion bonding, etc. However, titanium is very active and highly susceptible to embrittlement by oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and carbon at high temperature, so it needs to shield the weld metal from the air and these gases during welding by non-active gas. In this study, it was possible to get sound beads without humping and spatter with a decrease of peak power according to increase of pulse width, change of welding speed and overlap rate for heat input control, and shield conditions at pulsed laser welding of titanium plates for Lap welding.

  • 알루미늄 합금 Al 6082-T6는 최근에 개발되어 북유럽 등의 선진국에서는 그 뛰어난 해양 내식성과 우수한 강도로 인하여 해양구조물의 헬리데크(Helideck), 타워 갱웨이(Tower gangway), 알루미늄 피팅류(Aluminium fitting)등의 해양구조물과 플랫폼(Flatform), 알루미늄 래더(Aluminium ladder)등의 선박부품, 차량, 기계부품 분야에서 전 세계적으로 널리 사용되기 시작하였다. 그러나 전통적으로 용접금속의 기공은 결함으로 분류 되고, Rakesh Kumar 등의 논문에 따르면 용접 시 용접금속 내에 발생되어진 미세기공이 기계적 성질에 악영향을 미치는 것으로 보고되어졌다. 따라서 용접금속내의 발생하는 기공을 방지하는 용접공정의 개발이 반드시 필요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 Al 6082-T6 고속 MIG용접에서 기공방지를 위한 용접공정을 개발하는 것이다. Al 6082-T6의 7t 플레이트에 Al 5356의 와이어를 사용하여 아크길이 변경 및 용접속도를 60cpm과 120cpm으로 변경하여 실험하였고, 용접속도 120cpm의 고속 MIG용접에서 토치 진행각을 변경하여 실험을 진행하였다. 용접공정 파라메터 변경에 따른 기공율 측정은 이미지 분석 소프트웨어를 사용하여 정량적으로 분석하였다.
