Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate inter-rater and intra-rater reliability of interpretation and reproducibility of a pulse analyser (MAXMAC27-Plus). Methods : 38 of 40 volunteers completed the pulse analysis consecutively. Three Korean medical doctors who had at least 2 years of clinical experience interpreted the pulse waves for 3 aspects of size, depth and shape, then inter-rater reliability and crude agreement was obtained. Reinterpretation was done 2 weeks later and intra-rater reliability and crude agreement was obtained. Intra-rater reliability and crude agreement between 1st and 2nd measurement was calculated. Cohen's weighted kappa for size, Cohen's kappa for depth and shape were used as statistical analysis. Results : Inter-rater reliability of size, depth and shape among 3 raters was 0.598, 0.604, and 0.312, respectively, showing moderate to substantial agreement. Average intra-rater reliability between 1st and 2nd interpretation of size, depth and shape was 0.806, 0.705, and 0.638, respectively, showing substantial to almost perfect agreement. However, intra-rater reliability between consecutive measurements of size, depth and shape was 0.221, 0.121, and 0.194, respectively, which showed only poor to fair agreement. Conclusions : Intra-rater and inter-rater reliability of one pulse wave showed relatively high concordance. Training by a clinical expert may effect better concordance among raters. Test-retest reliability showed poor agreement. Improvement of measurement technique and device performance will be needed.
This work was carried out to investigate the welding behavior of thin A3003 Al alloy sheets by Nd : YAG laser beam. Considering bead shape and mechanical properties, the laser pulse shapes selected were two kinds of 2-division and 3-division by varying power level and pulse duration. In order to obtain optimum conditions, the factorial design method and central composite design method were applied. Tensile test, optical microscopy, micro hardness test and TEM analysis were performed. Due to the annealing caused by thermal effect during laser welding, precipitates were coarsended. The HAZ was softened and failed during tensile test. The hardness of HAZ was lower than that of base metal, since the heat input relieved the work hardening effect and caused grain growth.

Since one decade, the detection of HFPD (High frequency Partial Discharge) has been proposed as one of the effective method for the diagnosis of the power component under service in power grids. As a tool for HFPD detection, Metal Foil sensor based on the embedded technology has been commercialized for mainly power cable due to its advantages. Recently, for the on-site noise discrimination, several PA (Pulse analysis) methods have been reported and the related software, such as Neural Network and Fuzzy, have been proposed to separate the PD (Partial Discharge) signals from the noises since their wave shapes are completely different from each other. On the other hand, the relevant fundamental investigation has not yet clearly made while it is reported that the effectiveness of the current methods based on PA is dependant on the types of sensors. Moreover, regarding the identification of the vital defects introducible into the Power Cable, the direct identification of the nature of defects from the PD signals through Metal Foil coupler has not yet been realized. As a trial for solving above shortcomings, different types of software have been proposed and employed without any convincing probability of identification. In this regards, our novel algorithm 'PA Map' based on the pulse analysis is suggested to identify directly the defects inside the power cable from the HFPD signals which is output of the HFCT and metal foil sensors. This method enables to discriminate the noise and then to make the data analysis related to the PD signals. For the purpose, the HFPD detection and PA (Pulse Analysis) system have been developed and then the effect of noise discrimination has been investigated by use of the artificial defects using real scale mockup. Throughout these works, our system is proved to be capable of separating the small void discharges among the very large noises such as big air corona and ground floating discharges at the on-site as well as of identifying the concerned defects.
This paper deals with the control of an active bending actuator fur a catheter. The bending actuator with 40mm in length utilizes three zigzag SMA (shape memory alloy) springs which are equally located in the circumference between inner $({\phi}2.5 mm)$ and outer $({\phi}3.0mm)$ tube. It is purposed on realization of desired bending angle $(90^{\circ})$ and direction $(360^{\circ})$. It is also installed in front of the catheter and used to guide a path at extremely bent or branched blood vessel. The performance-analysis of the bending actuator are investigated fur the purpose of optimizing the control of the bending actuator. The analog joy stick is used to command a bending angle and direction for the fast and accurate response. According to the commands of the joy stick, tensile force of each SMA spring is computed and obtained by controlling the temperature of each SMA spring using PWM (pulse width modulation) of supplied electric power.

Nd:YAG pulse laser fillet welding of stainless steel plate was simulated to find welding condition by using commercial finite element code MARC. Full model of AISI 304 stainless steel plate was considered and user subroutines were applied to boundary condition for the heat transfer. Material properties such as conductivity, specific heat, mass density and latent heat were given as a function of temperature. As results, Three dimensional heat source model for pulse laser beam conditions of fillet welding has been designed by the comparison between the finite element analysis results and experimental data on AISI 304 stainless steel plate. Nd:YAG laser welding for AISI 304 stainless steel was successfully simulated and it should be useful to determine optimal welding condition.

The rupture disc shapes of bulkhead type pulse separation device(PSD) are designed for new dual pulse rocket motor. Before final design PSD, that three different rupture disc are tested and confirmed the performance of the discs. Through analyzing the test results the PSD decides, two rupture disc shapes with flow holes of eight circles and eight trapezoids.
As integrated circuits are developed, the crosstalk and the pulse distortion have been major problems in the design. In this paper. the PML and one-point resistive source are applied. This paper deal with the microstripline circuit which has the gap and three microstripline. Obtaining the Propagation pulse shape in microstripline, we prove that the use of the FDTD in the microstripline is valid.
Selective laser melting (SLM) is emerged as a new manufacturing technique to directly fabricate precise parts using metallic materials. The final characteristics of a component fabricated through the SLM process are strongly dependent upon various parameters such as laser power, scan rate and pulse duration, etc. This paper, therefore, focuses on the dimensional characteristics of melted $20{\mu}m$ Fe-Cr-Ni powder by fiber laser for the selective laser melting process. With energy density decrease, the height and depth were decreased. Although the conditions are of the same energy density, the shape is different by laser power and scan rate. The shapes at various laser parameters were divided into 3 groups based on depth over height. The smooth regular shape is obtained under the conditions of $50{\mu}m$ of powder height and $15-20{\mu}s$ of pulse duration. And the laser power influenced the variation of shape more significantly than the scan rate.

Since many blood pressure pulse analyzer made to measurement of a pulse wave in quantitative way has been started, some sorts of pressure sensors are being developed. The result could differ and this cause either type of sensor or module shape, when pulse wave is measured. In this paper, calculate and compare the pressure sensor's stress distribution according to thickness of PDMS coating and existence of guide through Finite Element Method. As a result, the center of pressure sensor's stress increase as much as 24% as it is reduced as much as 0.3 mm that the PDMS coating thichness of pulse diagnostic sensor module, on the other hand the surrouding censor of center sensor's stress is reduced as much as 4.9%, and transmissive proportion of stress is small as little as 2.7%, When coating has guide.
