Continuous Blood Pressure Monitoring using Pulse Wave Transit Time

  • In this paper, we describe the method of non-invasive blood pressure measurement using pulse wave transit time(PWTT). PWTT is a new parameter involved with a vascular that can indicate the change of BP. PWTT is measured by continuous monitoring of ECG and pulse wave. No additional sensors or modules are required. In many cases, the change of PWTT correlates with the change of BP. We measure pulse wave using the photo plethysmograph(PPG) sensor in an earlobe and we measure ECG using the ECG monitoring device our made in the chest. The measurement device for detecting pulse wave consists of infrared LED for transmitted light illumination, pin photodiode as light detector, amplifier and filter. We composed 0.5Hz high pass, 60Hz notch and 10Hz low pass filter. ECG measurement device consists of multiplexer, amplifier, filter, micro-controller and RF module. After amplification and filtering, ECG signal and pulse wave is fed through micro-controller. We performed the initial work towards the development of ambulatory BP monitoring system using PWTT. An earlobe is suitable place to measure PPG signal without the restraint in daily work. From the results, we can know that the dependence of PWTT on BP is almost linear and it is possible to monitoring an individual BP continuously after the individual calibration.

이동 형 산업용 단층측정 장치를 위한 감마선 검출시스템 개발 (Development of Measurement System for Industrial Transportable Gamma Ray CT)

  • This paper introduces a gamma-ray measurement system for a transportable tomography which is applicable for an industrial process diagnosis. The gamma-ray measurement system consists of pulse mode operating 72 channel CsI detectors, main AMP-pulse shaper, single channel analyzer, counter and control PC. The CsI crystal is coupled with a PIN diode which is connected to an amplifier and pulse shaper. For a compact design, the amplifier and pulse shaping circuit are included in a single package. 36 sets of CsI detectors are connected to a multi-channel counter through single channel analyzers. A computer controls and collects data from two multi-channel counters. This configuration results in 72 channel counting system in total. The CT rotator and radiation measurement system are controlled by a PC with LabVIEW program. Tomographic data were measured for a phantom by the measurement system and transportable gamma-ray CT. From the experimental data image reconstructions were performed by ML-EM algorithm. The result showed that the CsI detector system can be a suitable component for transportable gamma-ray CT system.

  • 동양 의학에서는 맥파를 분석해서 많은 질병을 분류하고 치료하고 있다. 그러나 현재까지 맥파를 분석하는 방법은 매우 주관적인 방법을 사용하기 때문에 신뢰도가 떨어지는 문제점이 발생한다. 뿐만 아니라, 기존 맥진기의 문제점으로는 요골동맥에 정확하게 맥진 센서가 위치하지 못하기 때문에 측정 위치에 따라 측정결과가 상이하고 측정절차에 매우 민감하여 높은 재현성을 실현 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 홀센서를 이용한 휴대용 맥진기를 이용해서 실맥 및 허맥을 분석 하는 연구 결과를 제안하였다. SPSS 통계 기법으로 분석한 실맥 및 허맥 최종 분석결과, 95% 신뢰도 구간에서 N.time(절흔점 시간) 및 S.amp (상승파형 크기) 평균치가 유의성이 있음을 입증하였다.

  • High-altitude ElectroMagnetic Pulse(HEMP) is a high-power electromagnetic pulse caused by nuclear explosions at altitudes above 30 km. This pulse can cause serious damage to the electrical/electronic device. Therefore, there are a lot of studies on the effects of HEMP in the literature. When conducting studies on the effects of HEMP, it is essential to measure the simulated HEMP. Depending on the need for measurement, this paper focuses on the HEMP measurement method. This paper proposes a measurement method using frequency domain compensation to extract the correct waveform and solves the offset problem more efficiently than the conventional methods. The proposed method is verified by experiment using HEMP simulator and measurement system in ADD.

  • 경수형 원자로의 운전과 안전성 해석을 위해 열수력학적 모형을 개발하는 것이 하나의 중요한 과제이다. 특히, 2상류의 열수력학적 모형을 개발하기 위해서는 기포율, 액체막 두께, 유동 영역과 같은 중요한 변수들을 실제로 측정한 값이 필요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 초음파 Pulse-echo 방법을 이용하여 액체 두께를 실험적으로 측정하고, 이론치와 비교 분석하여 (1) 관벽의 두께, (2) 초음파의 주파수, (3) 관벽의 재질 등이 액체막 두께 측정에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 데에 있다. 평판협 (Plate-type)과 관(Tube-type)으로 된 시험관을 이용하여 수평으로 놓인 물-공기의 층류계 (a horizontal airwater stratified system)를 만들어 일련의 액체막 두께 측정 실험을 수행하였다. 시험관의 벽 두께와 초음파 Pulse-echo 의 주파수를 변화시키면서 액체막 두께 측정을 반복하였다. 또한, 관벽의 acoustic impedance가 초음파 Pulse-echo 방법으로 액체막 두께를 측정할 때, 어떠한 영향을 주는가도 아울러 파악하기 위해서 스텐레스 강과 폴리아크릴 (Polyacrylate) 등 재질이 다른 두 개의 격리봉 (Standonff rod) 을 사용하여 액체막 두께를 측정하였다. 이렇게 하여 얻은 실험 결과를 제시하고 실제로 측정한 액체막 두께와 비교 분석하였다.

Basic Examination on 3D Measuring System Using Pulse-Compression

  • In this paper, we propose the basic measurement method of a 3D digitizer using a CCD camera in detail. In the localization measurement with a CCD camera, the effect of the background light and the sensitivity consideration are always problems in realizing a high precision. In this research, a new measurement principle is proposed in which the pulse compression technique known in radar is used to eliminate the effect of background light even under a low intensity light source, and the coordinate values on the CCD camera image plane are determined accurately. From the quantitative evaluation of the S/N ratio improvement and the fundamental experiment, it is verified that a substantial improvement in the S/N ratio is realized for both the background noise and the pixel noise and that a resolution of less than the pixel is sufficiently possible.

  • In the study on the waveform analysis of radial artery pulse diagnosis, we need to establish fundaments of contemporary pulse diagnosis research. As we will to do experimental research on the difference of pulse waveform on the radial artery with applied variations of pressure(5 stage-pressure) and measuring position(CHON, KWAN, CHEOG). First of all, in this research, we did the experiment of the study on the waveform analysis of radial artery(left KWAN) pulse dignosis by using 3 dimension pulse meter and analyzer (3D MAC). As a result. we extracted the seven measurement fluents : energy(E), size of cycle(h1), size of reflection cycle(h2), time of reflection cycle(t2), time of contraction (t4), width of cycle(w), area of waveform(A) by the statistically reasonable differences. We expect that the seven measurement fluents contribute to divide the situation through the results of waveform analysis of radial artery.

  • 최근 사람들의 평균 수명이 늘어남으로써 노령인구, 장애인, 주기적으로 자신의 건강상태를 확인하는 사람 등에게 원격 의료서비스를 제공하기 위한 건강관리에 관심이 고조되고 있다. 가정생활에서의 기초적인 건강상태 확인 및 의료 도우미 시스템은 고가의 의료장비를 이용하지 않고 저렴한 비용으로 확인이 가능해야 하며 간단한 방식으로 활용할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 광센서를 이용하여 손가락 끝의 맥박신호 정보를 검출하고 맥박신호의 이상 유무나 맥박간격의 규칙성 정보를 분석할 수 있는 3G 네트워크 기반의 맥박측정 시스템을 개발하고 적합성을 검토하였다.

유중 부분방전 펄스 특성을 이용한 TF 분석에 대한 고찰 (Considerations on the TF Anal,ysis using Partial Discharge Pulse Characteristics in Oil)

  • In this paper, it was investigated the characteristics of PD(partial discharge) pulse shapes in oil and the possibility of TF(Time-Frequency) analysis for the discrimination of air corona in on-site PD measurement of oil transformers. For the purpose, single and multiple discharges combined with oil discharges and air corona were generated and measured by use of artificial models through the HFPD pulse detector and the oscilloscope. PD pulse shapes were different according to the type of defects, especially including air corona- pulses. Also, through the TF analysis, data clusters could be classified each other in the TF Map, even in the case of multiple discharges. Therefore, it is known that TF analysis could be aprlied for the improvement of on-site PD measurement in oil transformers.
