The pulse discharge anchor is a method to increase the capacity of anchors using electric discharge geotechnical technologies, which is also known as pulse discharge and electric-spark technologies. The pulse discharge anchor has bulbed bond length that is expanded by high voltage electrokinetic pulse energy. 24 anchors were installed in the weathered soil and sandy clay at the Geotechnical Experimentation Site at Sungkyunkwan University in Suwon, Korea and attached strain gauge at 10 anchors. The numerical predictions by Beam-Column analysis were compared with observed measurements in a field load test.

In this study, a magnetic stimulation (MS) device with controllable pulse forming technology and pulse shape (MS) is described. The MS device uses an IGBT with appropriate snubbers to switch coil currents up to 6 kA, enabling pulse forming technology control from 5 s to over 100 s. The induced electric field pulses use 2% - 34% less energy and generate 57% - 67% less coil heating compared to matched conventional cosine pulses. MS is used to stimulate rhesus monkey motor cortex in vivo with pulse forming technology of 20 to 100 s, demonstrating the expected decrease of threshold pulse amplitude with increasing pulse forming technology. The technological solutions used in the MS prototype can expand functionality, and reduce power consumption and coil heating in MS, enhancing its research and therapeutic applications.
Electrofusion of cabbage protoplasts was performed with a developed equipment which consists of a parallel wire electrode, a AC field generator, and a pulse generator. Exposure of protoplasts to an alternating current field of 450 KHz causes attraction to each other which leads to chains of protoplasts extending from the electrode. Intra-specific protoplast fusion was effectively induced within the pearl chains by the additional application of a single high-intensity DC square wave pulse of 1 KV/cm for 1-3 msec. To improve the performance, micro fusion electrode fabricated from the semiconductor technology and microcontroller based field an, d pulse generator was proposed. The viability of protoplasts after an application of electric field at optimum condition was reduced by only 5 % compared with that of pre-application. A prototype of fusion electrode, which consists of insulator-structure, was successfully fabricated by using photosensitive polyimide.

Electron field emission properties from various CVD diamond films were studied. Diamond films were synthesized by microwave plasma CVD at 1173K and at 673K substrates temperature and pulse microwave plasma CVD at 1173K. B-doped diamond film was synthesized by microwave plasma CVD at 1173K also. Estimation by SEM, both the non-doped diamond film and B-doped diamond film which were synthesized at 1173K substrate temperature were $2~3\mu\textrm{m}$ in diameter and nucleation densities were $10^{8}{\;}numbers/\textrm{cm}^2$ order. The diamond film synthesized at 673K was $0.2\mu\textrm{m}$ in diameter and nucleation densities was 109 numbers/cm2 order. The diamond film synthesized by pulse microwave plasma CVD at 1173K was $0.2\mu\textrm{m}$ in diameter and nucleation density was $10^{9}{\;}numbers/\textrm{cm}^2$ order either. From the result of electron field emission measurement, electron field emission at $20V/\mu\textrm{m}$ from CVD diamond film synthesized by pulse microwave plasma CVD was $37.3\mu\textrm{A}/\textrm{cm}^2$ and the diamond film showed the best field emission property comparison with other CVD diamond.
Transcranial magnetic stimulation requires an electric field composed of dozens of V/m to achieve stimulation. The stimulation system is composed of a stimulation coil to form the electric field by charging and discharging a capacitor in order to save energy, thus requiring high-pressure kV. In particular, it is charged and discharged in capacitor to discharge through stimulation coil within a short period of time (hundreds of seconds) to generate current of numerous kA. A pulse-type magnetic field is formed, and eddy currents within the human body are triggered to achieve stimulation. Numerous pulse forms must be generated to initiate eddy currents for stimulating nerves. This study achieved high internal pressure, a high number of repetitions, and rapid switching of elements, and it implemented numerous control techniques via introduction of the half-bridge parallel load method. In addition it applied a quick, accurate, high-efficiency charge/discharge method for transcranial magnetic stimulation to substitute an inexpensive, readily available, commercial frequency condenser for a previously used, expensive, high-frequency condenser. Furthermore, the pulse repetition rate was altered to control energy density, and grafts compact, one-chip processor with simulation to stably control circuit motion and conduct research on motion and output characteristics.
Apple juices were sterilized by continuous pulsed electric field (PEF) treatments of pulse width of 25 ${\mu}s$ at electric field intensity of 20.0 kV/cm, and with the varied pulse frequencies of 35 Hz (40 kJ/L), 55 Hz (70 kJ/L), 72 Hz (100 kJ/L) and 85 Hz (130 kJ/L). The PEF treatments of apple juice reduced the microbial counts from 5.3 log CFU/mL of initial state to 3.0 log CFU/mL after PEF treatment at energy density of 130 kJ/L. Also yeast and fungi after PEF treatments were reduced from 5.3 log CFU/mL to 3.0 log CFU/mL and Escherichia coli were from 5.3 log CFU/mL of initial state to 4.7 log CFU/mL to < $10^1$ CFU/mL. The soluble solids and free sugars did not significantly differ (p<0.05) depending on conditions of PEF treatment. The total phenolic contents and antioxidant activity such as the DPPH and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) by PEF treatments were significantly partly reduced, but the PEF-reduced value came in smaller quantities than the heat treatment at $65^{\circ}C$. The iterative PEF treatments with pulse width of 25 ${\mu}s$ and pulse frequency of 85 Hz at electric field intensity of 20.0 kV/cm showed limited in microbial reduction. Also, total phenolic contents and antioxidant activity such as DPPH and FRAP, significantly decreased depending on treatment numbers of PEF (p<0.05).

This paper presents the comparison of electric field penetration in Bell laboratories and IEC 61000-2-9 standard when HEMP source penetrates through an aperture in a planar conducting plane of infinite extent. HEMP electric field distributions assume in order to interpret this problem. Integral equation is derived and solved by Galerkin's method of moments for calculating the penetrating electric field. It is shown that penetrated electric field of IEC 61000-2-9 standard is greater than the Bell Laboratories waveform in resonance of lower frequency band, but those waveforms are similar in shape to frequency domain.

Effect of dynamic electric fields on dielectric breakdown behavior in Cu damascene interconnects was investigated. Among the DC, unipolar, and bipolar pulse conditions, the longest dielectric lifetime is observed under the bipolar condition because backward Cu ion drift occurs when the direction of electric field is changed by 180 degrees and Cu contamination is prohibited as a results. Under the unipolar pulse condition, the dielectric lifetime increases as pulse frequency increases and it exceed the lifetime under DC condition. It suggests that the intrinsic breakdown of dielectrics significantly affect the dielectric breakdown in addition to Cu contamination. As the unipolar pulse width decreases, dielectric bond breakdown is more difficult to occur.
This paper has been studied a new geoelectric survey and instrunmentation using Low Frequency Electric Field .sensing Antenna. “Low Frequency Electric Field Sensing” is a technology in new method of survey to use array type antenna, the power of operation in antenna is using AC or DC pulse instead of DC current. The architecture of system embodied transceiver system using a microprocessor(PIC) of Microcllip Technology Inc. An array antenna design and il control transmission of antenna to use CDMA in this system. It is using array type antenna for the earth、earth's crust to survey explain from theory and experience.
In this paper, the single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) featuring three different p-well implantation doses (∅p-well) of 5.0 × 1012, 4.0 × 1012, and 3.0 × 1012 atoms/cm2 under the identical device layouts were fabricated and characterized to evaluate the effects of field enhanced mechanisms on primary dark pulses due to the maximum electric field. From the I-V curves, the breakdown voltages were found as 23.2 V, 40.5 V, and 63.1 V with decreasing ∅p-well, respectively. By measuring DCRs as a function of temperature, we found a reduction of approximately 8% in the maximum electric field lead to a nearly 72% decrease in the DCR at Vex = 5 V and T = 25 ℃. Also, the activation energy increased from 0.43 eV to 0.50 eV, as decreasing the maximum electric field. Finally, we discuss the importance of electric field engineering in reducing the field-enhanced mechanisms contributing to the DCR in SPADs and the benefits on the SPADs related to different types of radiation detection applications.
