Background: This study is to identify the factors that affect job satisfaction, psychological ownership, and job engagement of dental hygienists on job performance and use them as basic data for manpower management of dental hygienists. Methods: The survey was conducted by 344 clinical dental hygienists working in dental medical institutions. The collected data is PASW Statistics ver. 20.0 was used to analyze. Results: The job satisfaction level of the dental hygienist was 3.38±0.52, and the question that 'I feel that my ability to solve problems has improved compared to the past.' was 3.92±0.80. There were significant differences in job satisfaction, psychological ownership, and job engagement according to general characteristics in age, marriage, education, career, current work experience, and position. There were significant differences in job performance according to general characteristics in age, marriage, education, career, current work experience, position, and number of dental hygienists. Factors influencing job performance were practical activities, income, patient relations, absorption, vigor, dedication, and the number of dental hygienists. Conclusion: Finding different ways to use psychological ownership and job engagement through the job satisfaction of a dental hygienist, and to and to utilize it as basic data for efficient manpower management through job performance.
As the number of foreign workers increases in Korea, people's interest in their adaptation to this society has also increased. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a forest-healing program on foreign workers' cultural adaptation stress and psychological wellbeing. The experiment was conducted in a recreation forest located in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. The subjects who participated in this study included 40 foreign workers (16 males, 24 females). The experiment was conducted for three days and two nights from June 26 to 28, 2019. The forest healing program was composed of activities that can enhance immunity and restore physical and mental health by utilizing various healing environmental factors such as landscapes, sunlight, anion and oxygen in forest. The independent sample t-test was conducted to examine changes in cultural adaptation stress and psychological well-being before and after the program. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 18.0 program. As a result, cultural adaptation stress was statistically significantly reduced in sub-factors including discrimination experience, language conflict and legal status. Psychological wellbeing improved in all the surveyed sub-factors such as self-confidence, ego, immersion, and joy. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for reducing the stress foreign workers experience from cultural adaptation and restoring their psychological wellbeing in the future.

The purposes of this study were to evaluate symptom experience and quality of life (QOL) and to identify the predictors of QOL among breast cancer survivors. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 200 disease-free breast cancer survivors at two hospitals between December 2007 and July 2008. Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy Scale-B, Memorial Symptom Assessment Scale-short Form and The Linear Analogue Self Assessment Scale were used to assess symptom experience and QOL in these patients. Data were analyzed using the Pearson correlation, t-test, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 12.0. Results: The mean score of QOL for breast cancer survivors was 95.81 (${\pm}18.02$). The highest scores among physical and psychological symptoms were sexual interest and anxiety. Year since treatment completion was significantly associated with QOL in sociodemographic variables. Physical and psychological symptoms have a significant negative association with QOL. The results of the regression analyses showed that physical and psychological symptoms were statistically significant in predicting patients' QOL. Conclusion: Symptom experience and QOL are essential variables that should be acknowledged when delivering health care to breast cancer survivors. More attention to the reduction and management of psychological distress could improve QOL among breast cancer survivors.
The aim of this research is to verify the assumption that the husband-to-wife violence lies upon a continuum of severity and to study how the premarital violence experience of husbands, along with their psychological characteristics and various marital interactions, can be the cause of husbands' violence against their wives. At the same time, the research aims at constructing a causal model of the husband-to-wife violence. For the purpose, this research surveyed 242 husbands residing in Pusan and another 50 husbands as violent assaulters in major cities of Korea. The following is a summary of the results of this research. First, the research can verify the two assumptions that “the group which has once inflicted a severe form of violence can easily inflict minor violences” and that “the factors related to violence play a far greater role in severe violences than in weaker violences.” As a result, it may be concluded that the study of a regular household violence can be based on the continuum of violence assumption. Secondly, In the husbands' experience of violence, dating violence and their experienced childhood abuse from their parents, in their psychological characteristics, temper control ability and their patriarchal sex role attitude, and finally in marital interactions, marital conflicts and distractor of communication played great role in their influence on the husband-to-wife violence. Thirdly, as the various factors which contribute to the violence against the wife have cause-and-effect rule, we shall be able to make a model which can be conceptualized.
The aim of this research is to find out the common emotional factors that elementary school teachers feel when they experience in teaching children with ADHD and to know their responding process through experiential analysis. Seven elementary school teachers took part in this research as co-investigators, and I led the experiential approach. The co-investigators have analyzed their emotional experiences during 4 sessions. They learnt about the method of experience analysis and discussed their emotional experiences of children with ADHD. And they found out some factors concerning their emotional experiences and had the time to discuss in odor to search for the common factors of that process. Finally the co-investigators took part in a session to examine the factors which they have all agreed in, and then I verified this result. 1 interpreted the factors found and constructed a psychological resolution process. Two main objectives and the results of this research are as follows. First, are there any common factors among teachers who experience in treating children with ADHD? This research showed that elementary school teachers get angry and irritated with ADHD children's troubles. Second, what kind of psychological process is there in teachers' experiences children with ADHD? The psychological process of teachers dealing children with ADHD could be conceptualized in 5 steps, the step of recognizing an action of children with ADHD, the step of first cognitive consideration, the step of giving meaning and cognitive appraisal, the step of experiencing emotion, and the step of dealing with emotion. Teachers seemed to experience a little bit different psychological process. According to whether they thought about children's behavior positively or negatively in the second step, they had different emotional experiences. If they had a positive thought, they could take children's nonadaptive behaviors as personal characteristics. However, if they took them negatively, they considered them impolite and disobedient. Even when the teachers experienced negative emotions, their responses were divided into two groups whether they took it positively or negatively. This research showed that if teachers could control their negative emotional experiences, they could calm down with children with ADHD and treat them positively.

Global climate change is becoming one of the greatest challenges facing humanity. This article proposes a psychological perspective of climate change adaptation. Climate change-related severe adverse weather events may trigger mental health problems, including increased post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, violence, and even suicide. Forced migration could be considered a coping method for dealing with weather events, but it may also pose a psychological threat. People respond to severe weather events in different ways based on their individual characteristics. Psychological risks from adverse weather events are mediated and moderated by these factors, which are influenced by personal cognition, affect, and motivation. Examinations from a psychological perspective, which have been neglected in the science of climate change thus far, may provide keys to successful adaptation and the prevention of serious psychological problems resulting from the experience of severe weather events. A new prevention strategy has been suggested for coping with climate threats through encouraging attitude change, establishing proactive support systems for vulnerable groups, establishing a PTSD network, and implementing a stress inoculation program.
The purpose of this study is to explore the experience of participants in the adventurous leisure activities and to examine the structural relations of the cognitive experience, the emotional experience and adherence intention. Robust quantitative measures were developed from rich qualitative data. The five dimensions selected from two preliminary tests were being away, technical enhancement, fascination with nature, challenge, and interpersonal trust. The cognitive dimensions have a significant effect on the emotional arousal - pleasure dimension. Our study also shows a positive causal relationship between emotional experience and adherence intention. Implications of this study include 1) a developed questionnaire for measuring the cognitive experience dimension of adventure leisure and establishing a foundation for future research, and 2) an identified psychological model among cognitive, emotion, and intention. We offer opportunities to better understand the psychological factors that motivate participation in adventure leisure.
This study conducted a survey and analysis of saliva cortisol and psychological questionnaire in order to find out the psychological and physiological changes according to the experience of the care farm targeting fire-fighters. In the program to experience care farms, the total cortisol concentration as a stress hormone decreased after participation, and there was a statistically significant difference (z = 2.858, p <.01). As a result of the risk distribution analysis of the level of post-traumatic stress symptoms of firefighting officials who participated in the program to experience care farms, the high-risk group was found to be as high as 31.2%. In addition, the relative explanatory power of the independent variables that influence the loyalty of the care farm experience activity was found to have an effect in the order of program satisfaction, age, and reliability, and among them, program satisfaction was found to be the most influential variable. Therefore, it is believed that the care farm experience activities as the application of the healing program will have a positive effect on the activation of care farms in each region and the relief of stress symptoms of fire-fighters.
The purpose of this study was to examine if there was difference of psychological well-being in mid adulthood on experience of life events and social support in pre-adulthood and the effects of life events and social support in pre-adulthood on psychological well-being in mid adulthood fromlife course perspective. The data came from 511 mid-life adults aged from 40 to 59. The main results were as follows: (1) middle aged who were experienced life events concerning school, parent, violence, and death in pre-adulthood showed lower psychological well-being than those who didn't experience life events in pre-adulthood. Psychological well-being of middle aged who received social support in emotional, material, and informational area in pre-adulthood was higher than one of the whom didn't receive social support in pre-adulthood. (2) the experienced life events concerning parent, violence, and death in pre-adulthood effect on psychological well-being in mid adulthood. Also, the received emotional support and informational support in pre-adulthood influence on psychological well-being in mid adulthood. And there were adjusting effects of life events concerning parent and received informational support in pre-adulthood on the psychological well-being in mid adulthood. These findings support life course perspective that past experiences have cumulative and interconnected effect and the individual life was closely connected with other people having meaningful relationships. Also, the intervention on psychological well-being requires not only prevent life events but augment social support that can protect after experience of life events. The intervention should suggest suitable and specific method on life events.
This study aims to identify the beneficial effects of forest experience on emotional changes in young children who are exposed to smartphones in daily life. This research was conducted on 41 children aged five and six years at a kindergarten in Chungcheongnamdo province. The children participated in a five-month forest experience program, conducted twice a week. Before beginning the study, its purpose and procedure were explained to the children's parents and kindergarten teachers, after which written content was collected. Before and after the five-month experience, questionnaires about smartphone use and emotional conditions were administered through the parents. The participants were divided into two groups, namely average-use and high-use groups, depending on the smartphone addiction proneness score. It was found that negative psychological subscales such as anxiety, impulse, and depression decreased following the five-month forest experience in both groups. Positive psychological attitudes such as sociability and creativity increased significantly after the forest experience. The high-use group showed a wider range of positive changes compared to the average-use group. Accordingly, forest experiences can be used as an effective solution for smartphone addiction problems among young children.
