Performance Analysis of the HIPERLAN Channel Access Control Protocol (고속 무선 근거리 통신망(HIPERLAN) 채널접근제어 프로토콜의 성능분석)

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performance of EY-NPMA(Elimination Yield-Non-preemptive Priority Multiple Access) protocol-channel access control protocol of HIPERLAN(HIgh PErformance Radio Local Area Network) type 1 specification, adopted as european high speed wireless LAN standard by ETSI(European Telecommunication Standards Institute). We established a system model for EY-NPMA protocol analysis, analyzed success probability in a channel access cycle, and derived expressions for the average length of contention phase. Using a M/G/1 model, we approximated the normalized delay, and throughput, and we evaluated these results by simulations.

  • The Location Service (LCS) feature which provides the terminal UE’s geographical location information has been important issues in IMT-2000 system. The existing location positioning methods are classified into the cell ID based, OTDOA, and network assisted GPS. In this paper, a new hybrid location positioning method which combine three of these methods is proposed. Then the LCS protocol is developed under SDL (Specification and Description Language) development environment after designing a new LCS system architecture and behavior. This protocol design covers the LCS functional model and signaling procedure, system architecture, primitive and data structure, and process SDL diagrams.

  • 본 논문에서는 ZigBee Alliance에서 다루어지고 있는 IEEE 802.15.4틀 기반으로 하는 USN을 위한 라우팅 프로토콜을 연구한다. 현재 ZigBee Specification v1.0의 표준에서는 AODV라우팅 프로토콜과 Hierarchical 라우팅 프로토콜을 사용하고 있다. 하지만 ZigBee Specification v1.0의 표준에서 사용하고 있는 이 두 가지 라우팅 프로토콜은 대규모의 센서네트워크에 적용하였을 때, 많은 단점들이 존재한다. 이러한 단점들은 센서네트워크가 가지고 있는 여러 가지 특성들을 고려하지 않은 일반적인 Adhoc 네트워크에서 사용하는 라우팅 프로토콜을 사용했기 때문이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점들을 해결 할 수 있는 클러스터 기반의 라우팅 프로토콜을 제안한다.

  • To guarantee safety and reliability, RAMS(Reliability Availability Maintainability and Safety) activity for a communication software in train communication network is studied. In this paper, preliminary hazard analysis in RAMS activities is studied for the communication software. Preliminary hazard analysis is done through library for communication software that the specification is defined by IEC 61375. The hazards are defined, then causes and consequence for each hazard are defined. The total 36 preliminary hazards are classified. For high severity hazards are changed to acceptable level by upgrading of system requirement specification.

  • 기존의 전력량계의 원격 검침을 위한 DLMS/COSEM(Device Languag Message Specification / Companion Specification for Energy Meters) 시스템에서의 실제 송, 수신되는 데이터를 수집하여 이를 표현 및 분석 할 수 있는 프로그램을 구현하여 이로 하여금 실제 검침원에게 시스템에서의 송 수신되는 데이터의 흐름을 한 눈에 볼 수 있게 하였다. 또한 데이터의 실제 값 들을 분석하여 이틀을 가시적으로 볼 수 있어 오류 발생 시에 세부적으로 데이터를 분석하여 오류 원인을 찾아 낼 수 있다.

  • 소프트웨어 개발에서, 사용자 요구 사항을 잘 표현하면 할수록 시스템은 오류가 적고, 사용자가 요구하는 시스템으로 만들어지며, 시스템 검증이 쉬워지는 것 같이, 정형적 사양(formal specification)은 시스템 개발 전반에 영향을 준다. 이 정형적 사양은 암호 프로토콜이 완전(completeness)하고 안전(soundness)한가를 검증하는 데에도 유용하게 사용될 수 있다. 암호 프로토콜을 사양하고 분석하는 방법은 크게 대수적, 논리적, 상태 변환적 접근 방법등과 통신 프로토콜의 검증에 쓰는 패트리넷을 이용한 방법등이 있다. 이들 방법중에는 프로그램으로 구현되어 자동 검증 tool로 개발된 사례도 있다. 본 고에서는 암호 프로토콜을 위한 사양 기법과 그에 따른 분석 기법을 알아보고 그것들을 비교, 분석하였다.

  • This paper introduces the extension of SIP protocol for Multiparty Conference and the implementation of IP-based Multi-Conference. SIP protocol is a signaling protocol for initiating, modifying and terminating interactive sessions (voice, video, text, application). Multiparty conference system is implemented by RTP protocol for real time transmission and by H.323 for call setup. As H.323 fits into PSTN, it has some problems (call setup delay, hard implementation) for IP applications. IETF developed SIP protocol used for signaling in IP networks. However this SIP protocol doesn't explain signal protocol about multimedia conference, which is different from the existing H.323. So this paper describes the extension of SIP according to SIP Specification and case study for the multimedia conference.

  • In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of the Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) for Multiprotocol Label Switching System. We review the implementation issues of LDP that is required to make a gigabit switched router, and propose a detail design of it. We present the data structures and procedures for the LDP as a result, which are based on IETF standard. We present design issues for applying this to carrier class products. The implemented protocol could afford 40,000 entries of the IP routing table that is required for deploying this system to commercialized data network. Furthermore this system implemented using the standard API of Unix, as a result, it has portability. By implementing LDP based on the international standard and these implementation issues, we expect that the implemented LDP will be interoperable with other commercialized products. We prove the validity of the design of the LDP through prototyping, and also verify the prototype with the specification using the process algebra and the performance analysis.

  • Currently, LPWA(Low Power Wide Area) communication technology is widely used due to the development of IoT(Internet of Things) technology. Among the LPWA technologies, LoRaWAN(Long Range Wide Area Network) is widely used in many fields due to its wide coverage, stable communication speed, and low-cost modem module prices. In particular, LoRa(Long Range) can easily construct LoRaWAN with a dedicated gateway. So many organizations are building their own LoRaWAN-based networks. The LoRaWAN Gateway receives the LoRa packet transmitted from an End-device installed in the adjacent location, converts it into the Internet protocol, and sends the packet to the final destination server. Current LoRa Gateway uses a single-hop method, and each gateway must include a communication network capable of the Internet. If it is the mobile communication(i.e., WCDMA, LTE, etc.) network, it is required to pay the internet usage fee which is installed in each gateway. If the LoRa communication is frequent, the user has to spend a lot of money. We propose an idea on how to design a multi-hop protocol which enables packet routing between gateways by analyzing the LoRaWAN communication method implemented in its existing single-hop way in this paper. For this purpose, this paper provides an analysis of the standard specification of LoRaWAN and explains what was considered when such protocol was designed. In this paper, two gateways have been placed based on the functional role so as to make the multi-hop protocol realized: (i) hopping gateway which receives packets from the end-device and forwards them to another gateway; and (ii) main gateway which finally transmits packets forwarded from the hopping gateway to the server via internet. Moreover, taking into account that LoRaWAN is wireless mobile communication, a level-based routing method is also included. If the protocol proposed by this paper is applied to the LoRaWAN network, the monthly internet fee incurred for the gateway will be reduced and the reliability of data transmission will be increased.

  • Petri net is one of the effective modeling techniques which analyzes and designs concurrent and asynchronous systems. CPN is an extended Petri net which has color tokens. In this paper, we propose a new test case generation method using CPN. It transforms Estelle Specification into CPN, which is applicable to Design/CPN. It also generates UIO and subtour from OG and descriptor, which are resulted from Design/CPN. Using the proposed method, we can get more improved test coverage than existing methods. Therefore, more effective protocol conformance testing could be conducted. The test case generating method will be the basis of the automatic testing environmented.
