  • To provide network services consistently under various network failures, enterprise networks increasingly utilize path diversity through multi-homing. As a result, multi-homed non-transit autonomous systems become to surpass single-homed networks in number. In this paper, we address an inevitable problem that occurs when networks with multiple entry points deploy firewalls in their borders. The majority of today's firewalls use stateful inspection that exploits connection state for fine-grained control. However, stateful inspection has a topological restriction such that outgoing and incoming traffic of a connection should pass through a single firewall to execute desired packet filtering operation. Multi-homed networking environments suffer from this restriction and BGP policies provide only coarse control over communication paths. Due to these features and the characteristics of datagram routing, there exists a real possibility of asymmetric routing. This mismatch between the exit and entry firewalls for a connection causes connection establishment failures. In this paper, we formulate this phenomenon into a state-sharing problem among multiple fire walls under asymmetric routing condition. To solve this problem, we propose a stateful inspection protocol that requires very low processing and messaging overhead. Our protocol consists of the following two phases: 1) Generation of a TCP SYN cookie marked with the firewall identification number upon a SYN packet arrival, and 2) state sharing triggered by a SYN/ACK packet arrival in the absence of the trail of its initial SYN packet. We demonstrate that our protocol is scalable, robust, and simple enough to be deployed for high speed networks. It also transparently works under any client-server configurations. Last but not least, we present experimental results through a prototype implementation.

  • The propagation of smart devices and the rapid expansion of wireless mobile networks have increased the need for ubiquitous device connectivity and contents access. DLNA is currently being used as the de facto standard for connectivity of consumer devices in the digital home. The guidelines provided by DLNA are intended to facilitate device and contents discovery, management, sharing and distribution. However, consumer experience with DLNA has been rather poor and usability not up to speed. Different problems and issues in limited compatibility have been reported due to manufacturer customizations. Such compatibility issues are often difficult to identify by average consumers who are not savvy in information communications and multimedia technology. In this paper, the design and implementation of a DLNA protocol inspection tool is presented for compatibility analysis among DLNA certified devices. The tool monitors the home network and performs analysis of the underlying protocols used by DLNA. The tool can be used for diagnostics and troubleshooting, enabling the user to identify compatibility issues between devices or problems in the network.

  • Construction inspection and monitoring are key activities in construction projects. Automation of inspection tasks improves the limitations and inefficiencies of manual construction inspections, enabling systematic and consistent construction inspections. In this paper, an RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) system is used to remotely manage and supervise the construction site without having to visit the construction site by deploying a robot on site on behalf of four construction stakeholders (owner, supervisor, constructor, and designer). I would like to propose. The proposed system can contribute to identifying and monitoring the process process and work results at the construction site in real time.

  • Alternative strategies such as visual inspection of cervix with acetic acid, are real time, economical and easily implemented methods for cervical cancer screening. However, variable sensitivity and specificity have been observed in various community based studies. The possible reasons could include variation in man power training, light source used for visualization, and preparation of diluted (4-5%) acetic acid and its storage. A standardized protocol for training, teaching material (easy to understand in the local language) for trainees, supervision and reinforcement by intermittent and supplementary training to check the quality of their observation, a standard protocol for preparation dilute acetic acid and its storage and a standard good light source (equivalent to day light) are needed to minimize the variation in sensitivity and specificity of VIA in community settings.

  • The communication protocol for interface among railway signalling systems is designed and established as national standard in Korean from a few years ago. So the communication link for information transmission among railway signalling system can be a good example of application of this standard. Communication protocol which is standardized among Korean railway signalling is considered to apply information transmission. And we confirmed there is no the states of deadlock of livelock in std. protocol which is applied formal verification which is one of the analytic method for inspection of safety characteristics in the design course of protocol. But the safety of protocol has to necessarily accomplish this normal analysis approach about satisfying requirement matters with such this analytic approach. In this paper we analyzed the safety characteristics of standard protocol for Korean Railway signalling through the requirement matters for safety transmission of railway transmission system which is required in international standard. So through this study we confirm whether it satisfies safety requirement matters of the level which require in international standard and tried to confirm whether standard protocol has enough safety character in the real railway field.

  • In a lithium-ion battery which is being used in many portable electronic goods, electrolyte is disaggregated and then the gas is happened when electric charging volt is over the 4.5V. So, the pressure on the safety valve is increased and electrolyte is leaked out in the cell. It leads to the risk of explosion. On the other hand, in the case which the battery is discharged excessively, the negative pole is damaged and the performance of the battery is deteriorated. The protection module of a lithium-ion battery is used for preventing such risk and the inspection system is needed to check the performance of such protection module. In this research, a PC-based auto inspection system is developed for the inspection of a battery protection module using Dallas chipset. In the inspection system, AVRl28 chip is used as a controller and the communication protocol is developed for the data communication between the protection module and the AVR128 chip. And GPIB interface is used for the control of measuring devices. Also, MMI environment is developed using LabView for convenient monitoring by the tester.

  • Recently, with the development of the fourth industrial revolution that has been achieved through the fusion of information and communication technology (ICT), the technologies of AI, IOT, BIG-DATA, it is increasing utilization rate by industry and research and development of application technologies are being actively carried out. Especially, in the case of unmanned aerial vehicles, the construction market is expected to be one of the most commercialized areas in the world for the next decade. However, research on utilization of unmanned aerial vehicles in the construction field in Korea is insufficient. In this study, We have developed a quantitative building inspection method using the unmanned aerial vehicle and presented the protocol for it. The proposed protocol was verified by applying it to existing old buildings, and defect information could be quantified by calculating length, width, and area for each defect. Through this technical research, the final goal is to contribute to the development of safety diagnosis technology using unmanned aerial vehicle and risk assessment technology of buildings in case of disaster such as earthquake.

  • To make a proposal for the revision of KGCP, ICH Harmonized Tripartite Guideline for Good Clinical Practice, which is on the stage of worldwide implementation, was compared with current GCPs of tripartite countries of ICH, namely USA, Europe and Japan as well as Korea. On the basis of the classification in ICH GCP, comprehensive comparisons among the corresponding articles of 4 regions or countries were made in the order of IRB / IEC, Investigator, Sponsor and Clinical Trial Protocol. Based on the comparisons of the contents in ICH-GCP with those in current GCPs, major suggestions for the revision of current KGCP can be made as follows. Firstly, the function of IRB / IEC needs to be strengthened for the initiation and continuation of clinical trial. Current 2-step approval system of IRB / IEC and Health Authorities requires to be converted into the system similar to that of developed countries. Secondly, sponsor's obligation needs to be tightened to control and assure the quality of clinical trial. Inspection of regulatory authorities should be made to perform during and / or after clinical trial, when it is necessary. In other words, sponsor should be made to establish written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of clinical trial including monitoring to ensure that trials are conducted and data are generated, documented, and reported in compliance with the protocol, GCP, and the applicable regulatory requirement (s). Besides, the provision of ‘Quality Control and Quality Assurance’ should be added to the protocol to establish the credibility of the result of the clinical trial.
