발전기의 사고 시뮬레이션과 분석 (Fault Simulation and Analysis of Generator)

  • Large generator of power plant is very important. In order to protect large generator from faults, digital protective relay or IED is required. However, all protective relays for generators of the domestic power plant are operated by foreign products. And now, for technological independence from foreign and improvement of import substitution effect, IEDs using domestic technology are being developed. To evaluate performance of developing next-generation power devices, the study of the dynamic characteristics of the power plant, generator system modeling, fault simulation and analysis, should be considered. Specially, To obtain IEEE Standards COMTRADE format for relay operation test, generator system modeling and fault simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC tools must be preceded. Until now, a complete modeling of generator internal windings and fault simulation techniques dose not exist. In this paper, for evaluation performance of relay elements of developing IED, the generator system modeling and various faults simulation using PSCAD/EMTDC tools were performed. And then, the various transient phenomena through obtained relaying signal of developed modeling were analyzed.

  • The credibility and reliability of data is a very important issue in the protective relay setting which seriously influences the system security In this paper, DB management system which provides a convenient environment for various data handling such as data saving, retrieval, DB copy, DB update, DB editor and DB navigation using Web is explained.   • This paper analyzes operation sensitivity of a relay, a blind spot of differential protection relaying, and how to protect the blind spot in protective relying of $3{\Phi}$ Y-Delta transformer consisting of three $1{\Phi}$ transformers which Korean pumped storage power plants have been using. Each different protective relayings must be adopted because there are differences between $3{\Phi}$ trans-former and $3{\Phi}$ transformer consisting of three $1{\Phi}$ trans formers. Also, in the system using high resistance grounding for fault current restriction of delta side, protection for delta side faults have to be considered properly.

  • The existing distribution networks are growing with an increase of power demand more and more. Therefore, for efficient operation of distribution networks, operators are much in need of distributed generation. This paper describes a development of the digital protection relay(HIMAP) for protecting distributed generation which is expected to play an increasing role in electric power systems in the near future. This paper particularly introduces frequency protective algorithm and reverse power protective algorithm among the relaying algorithms for protecting distributed generation in distribution networks and resents capability of a developed digital protection relay including these algorithms.

  • The second harmonic component is commonly used for blocking differential relay in Power transformers. However it is difficult to distinguish between inrush and internal winding fault with differential current protective relaying. This paper proposed a new method using nuro-fuzzy. The used data in nuro-fuzzy algorithm are 3-phase primary voltage and fundamental harmonic of differential current. Various states of transformer are simulated using BCTRAN and HYSDAT of EMTP. As a result of applying the algorithm in various cases, the correct discrimination between internal winding fault and inrush performed.

  • The four fuzzy criteria to distinguish the internal fault from the inrush fur the power transformer protection have been identified. They are based on the wave shape, terminal voltage, fundamental and second harmonic component of differential current. systematic way to determine the associated fuzzy membership function is also proposed.

  • The two criteria to identify the disturbances of the power transformer has been reported in this paper. They have been derived through EMTP simulations of internal faults, inrush and overexcitation for the model of 154/22.9[kV], 40[MVA], Y-Y three-phase power transformer. We propose the crisp algorithm which uses two criteria. A series of test results clearly indicate that the method can identify not only an internal fault but also the other transients. The average of relay operation times is about 7.2[ms]. The proposed algorithm immunes to the transient state.

  • This paper describes the effect of the interconnected wind turbine generators on fault current level of distribution networks. Distributed generator(DG) interconnected with grid can supply the power into a power network not only the normal conditions, but also the fault conditions of distribution network. If the fault happened in the distribution power line with DG, the fault current level measured in a relaying point might be higher than that of distribution network without wind turbine generator due to the contribution of wind farm. Consequently, it may destroy the conventional protective devices applied in the distribution network with DG. Simulation results shows that the current level of fault happened in the power line with DG depends on the power output of DG.

  • In this paper, we propose a Fourier transform-based modified phasor estimation method to eliminate the adverse influence of exponentially decaying DC offsets. Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT) is generally used to calculate the phasor of the fundamental frequency component in digital protective relays. However, the output of the DFT contains an error due to exponentially decaying DC offsets. Therefore, the decaying DC components should be taken into consideration when calculating the phasor of the fundamental frequency component of a relaying signal. In this paper, the error due to DC offsets in a DFT is calculated and eliminated using the outputs of quaternity DFT, so that the phasor of the fundamental component can be accurately estimated. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated by using computer-simulated signals and EMTP-generated signals. A performance evaluation showed that the proposed algorithm was not affected by system and fault conditions. Thus, the proposed algorithm can effectively suppress the adverse influence of DC offsets in a relaying signal.

  • 최근 복잡해지고 다양해지는 전력계통의 고신뢰성 운용을 위하여 근래에는 고속 고기능이 첨가된 지능형 보호 IED의 적용이 확산되고 있다. 이와 같이 전력계통의 운용에 있어서 보호 IED의 필요성이 증대되고 있으나, 실제 보호 IED의 운용에 있어서는 몇 가지 문제점이 노출되어 있는데, 과부하 상태가 일정하지 않은 상태에서 동작특성의 문제점 즉, 과부하상태에서 그 크기가 변동될 경우 트립 직전의 크기로만 동작시간을 판별하고, 과부하 상태와 정상상태가 반복되는 상태에서는 경우에 따라 부동작하는 기존 보호 IED의 문제점과 비선형 부하의 사용 증가로 전원 계통에서 유입되는 다양한 고조파에 대한 대책을 요구하고 있다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점들에 대한 해결 방안을 제시하고자 한다.
