Objective: The use of chemicals for building prosthetic sockets present the possibility of being hazardous and unsafe due to off-gassing. The purpose of the present study was to investigate if freshly made materials used in prosthetic sockets causes off-gassing that would penetrate the skin and cause damage to the kidneys or blood. Design: Cross-sectional study. Methods: In this research, the off-gassing effects during the initial curing process of styrene monomer, vinyl ester resin, epoxy methacrylate resin, benzene-1, 3-dimethaneamine, trimethylhexanedlamine, and paratertiarybutylphenol were analyzed. Acid detection strips were placed inside newly fabricated mock-prosthetic sockets and left overnight in a closed environment to find out if acid was present in the invisible fumes. The plastic was worn by 9 subjects and urinalysis was made after 48 hours to test for any kidney or blood toxicity of the resins. Results: After wearing the plastic cuff for 48 hours, the ratio of protein to creatinine in the urine was raised to an abnormal level in five out of nine subjects. Four out of the nine subjects showed normal protein to creatinine ratios after wearing the device. The results showed that damage to the kidney occurred from wearing the resins after curing in half of the subjects. Conclusions: It is very important to conduct patient intakes which includes the assessment of renal function. Off-gassing in vented chambers may be needed to protect both prosthetists and patients.

This study attempts to find factors contributing to the use pattern of prosthetics by investigating the current condition of prosthetics for the aged of over 65 years old by place of practice. Among those of over 65 years old who live in Gangnam-gu, Seocho-gu, Seongbuk-gu, and Gwanak-gu of Seoul and use the apartment senior's center, those having prosthetics were selected as subjects of this study, and this study was conducted in forms of interview and record. Findings of this study are summarized as follows: First, in regard of the state of prosthetics and relevant symptoms in the mouth according to the place of prosthetics practice, there was significant difference in the questions except the medical benefit of prosthetics between unlicensed facilities and dental clinics and hospitals. Second, regarding difference in satisfaction according to the place of prosthetics practice, dental clinics and hospitals showed a higher level of aesthetic satisfaction than unlicensed facilities. For difference in satisfaction at pronunciation, chewing, pain, a sense of foreign body, and holding power, dental clinics and hospitals showed a higher level than unlicensed facilities, Third, after factor analysis on the perception factors of unlicensed treatment and dental treatment, unlicensed facilities showed the highest level of reliability, and then convenience, word of mouth, and modernity in order. Dental clinics and hospitals also showed the highest level of reliability, however, and then convenience, modernity, and word of mouth in order. Fourth, as a consequence of analyzing the factors to influence the use pattern of prosthetics, regarding residential pattern, there were higher possibilities to use dental clinics and hospitals when the subjects lived together with their children and in Gangnam, and the more were the number of pyeong for the residence, pocket money, medical expense, and property in their name, compared to unlicensed facilities. In conclusion, economic factors appear to be the most important factors in selecting facilities for denture prosthodontics. Therefore, it is important to ensure the denture prosthodontics for the elderly are reimbursable so that they can enjoy a healthier life.

Objectives: To determine the prevalence and oral characteristics of cancer patients treated with bisphosphonates in the oncology and maxillofacial prosthesis departments of the General Hospital of Mexico between 2011 and 2013. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study included patients who received prior treatment with bisphosphonates; an intraoral examination was performed by 2 standardized examiners. Results: The prevalence of bisphosphonate-related necrosis in 75 patients was 2.6%; the most common malignancy was breast cancer (84.0%), followed by prostate cancer (16.0%). Exostosis was present in 9.3% of patients and the mean Decayed, Missing, Filled Teeth index was 4.64; 44.0% of the study group had a Community Periodontal Index value between 2 and 2.9 (mean, 0.60). Conclusion: A detailed intraoral assessment must be performed before initiating treatment with bisphosphonates to identify risk factors for osteonecrosis.

Dental clinicians often encounter cases wherein the patient's lost molar area was neglected and left untreated for an extended period of time, thereby causing the extrusion of opposite molars and occlusal disharmony as well as occlusion in the anterior teeth and consequently resulting in anterior displacement in the area. Clinicians normally carry out prosthetic treatment via occlusal plane lifting when such becomes absolutely necessary due to the lack of sufficient space needed for prosthetic therapy aimed at proper anterior and lateral induction. In this case report, we examined occlusal disharmony and VDO loss in a patient who had lost his molars and had not received prosthetic treatment for an extended period of time. We treated the maxillary area with dental implant prosthetics and Kennedy Class I RPD and the mandibular area with residual natural tooth-based implant placement and dental implant prosthetics. The patient reported treatment outcomes that were deemed satisfactory both functionally and aesthetically.

The purpose of this study was to determine the marginal fit of recasting by used nickel-chromium metal alloys, Hi-Crown, New-Crown and CB-80. Ninety crown prosthetics were divided into eighteen groups according to new to old metal ratios. Each crown was seated on its master die and then the marginal gaps were measured under optical microscope($\times$50). All groups were showed good marginal fit, except group 3 of Hi-Crown(156$\mu$m). The results suggest that the marginal fit of Ni-Cr metal alloy casting bodies were good as without concerned to mixed ratios and metals.

Generalized aggressive periodontitis cause intrabony pocket, loss of teeth, and severe alveolar bone defect. As a result, pathologic tooth migration occurs and esthetic problem happens according to this, especially on the anterior teeth of maxilla. The purpose of this study was to assess the multidisciplinary treatment including periodontics, orthodontics and prosthetics of a patient caused by generalized aggressive periodontitis. This study presents a case using full mouth periodontal treatment, immediate orthodontic treatment for 5 months, implantation with guided bone regeneration and free gingival graft, and prosthetic treatment. Treatments took totally 14 months. Periodontal indicators such as probing pocket depth, bleeding on probing, tooth mobility improved. Also, the patient was satisfied with the esthetic and functional improvement.

Purpose: This study introduces the production process of dog's dental prosthesis using an automated dental prosthetics technology. The occlusal interaction of dog's dental prosthesis was observed. Methods: This study was proceeded with dog's the mandibular first molar teeth. The 3D CAD designed to 3D model specimens was observed by CAD software. and The specimens designed to 3D model specimens was observed occlusal interaction by using articulator. Results: Occlusal contact point in prosthetic specimens were observed in buccal surface. and 98% of the size of the crown is the best occlusal relationship. Conclusion: Observation of occlusal relations result to 98% of the size of the crown is the best.

Currently, there are two major problems in professional engineer(PE) licensure system in Korea to be accredited internationally. One is a incompleteness of system connecting the licensure and the accredited engineering education program and the other one is a insufficient working experience condition required for achieving PE license. Therefore, these two problems are setbacks hindering Korea's PE license accredited internationally. In this study, international tendency stream on mutual accreditation of PE license are reviewed first, and the PE licensure system of the major countries are compared and analyzed. Based on the results, requirements improvement plan are suggested and the gradual implementation method are suggested also.

Guided implant surgery is useful in anterior implant case in terms of fixture installation and temporary crown delivery. For the aesthetic prosthetics in anterior implant, the position of the implant fixture is crucial. Guided surgery is the top-down procedure and we designed prosthetics first and then determine the position of the fixture. Guided surgery can reduce the stress of dentist with difficult anterior implant case.
