With the growing global concern about climate change, relationship between carbon stock density and tree species has become important for international climate change mitigation programmes. In this study, 150 Quadrats were laid down to assess the diversity, biomass and carbon stocks in each of the forest ranges (Barkot Range, Lachchiwala Range and Thano Range) of Dehra Dun Forest Division in Doon Valley, Western Himalaya, India. Community level carbon stock density was analyzed using Two Way Indicator Species Analysis. Species Richness and Shannon Weiner index was correlated with the carbon stocks of Doon Valley. Positive and weak relationship was found between the carbon stock density and Shannon Weiner Index, and between carbon stock density and Species Richness.

Sustainability has been a important issue in fashion industry that reflects the modern phase of the time. More education institutions than ever before are beginning to offer specialized courses, certificates and degrees related to sustainability in fashion, and many fashion institutions are working to embed sustainability issues into the educational contents. In this study, I investigate how sustainability is being integrated into the curriculum of leading fashion institutions, corporate management activity across the world and overview the world leading educational programmes related to sustainable fashion, pulling out the unique expertise and areas of specialization for each institution. In conclusion, the sustainable fashion were still not widely promoted domestical fashion institutions compare with other foreign leading fashion institutions. This happens in fashion business as well. Korean fashion institutions have to make educational program and certificates and degrees related to sustainability because the educational program can transform domestic fashion industry to sustainable fashion leading country level.

A few years ago a WHO Expert Committee stated: 'Smoking related diseases are such important causes of disability and premature death in developed countries that the control of cigarette smoking could do more to improve health and prolong life in these countries than any other single action in the whole field of preventive medicine.' (WHO TRS 568/1975) Indeed, so serious have been the consequences of smiting in the developed countries of North America and Europe that they could not be ignored. Let us look at the action taken in some of these countries. We may then be able to draw up some guidelines for the formulation of a national anti-smoking policy-guidelines applicable both to countries which already are experiencing the dreadful consequances of long-established and wide-spread smoking habits, and applicable also to countries where the 'smoking epidemic' is only noly beginning to bring its burden of disability and early death.

MCNP code was used to calculate conversion factor H(d)ma at the depths of 0.07 and 10mm within a water phantom recommended by IAEA and within a PMMA phantom required by the US dosimeter proficiency testing programmes. The calculations were performed for an expanded parrallel beam of monoenergetic photons of perpendicular incidence on one faces of the phantom. The results can be used as conversion factor in calibrating individual dosemeters in terms of the dose equivalent quantities defined directly in the phantom.

외계행성 탐색은 현재 천문학계에서 가장 활발하게 진행되고 있는 연구 분야들 중 하나이며 우리나라에서도 외계행성 탐색을 위한 KMTNet 프로젝트가 진행되고 있다. 외계행성 발견에 대한 소식은 언론에 자주 등장하며 일반인들도 많은 관심을 보이지만 구체적인 내용에 대한 이해는 매우 낮은 현실이다. 외계행성 탐색은 비교적 최근에 등장한 분야라 일선 학교나 일반인 대상 천문시설에서 교육프로그램으로 제대로 자리 잡지 못하고 있기도 하다. 그러므로 외계행성 탐색과 관련된 올바른 교육을 위해서 적합한 교재와 교육프로그램이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 외계행성 탐색에 대한 교육을 위한 교재와 교육프로그램 개발 과정을 소개한다. 더불어 KMTNet과 KGMT와 같은 대형 천문 관련 프로젝트들에 대한 적절한 대국민 홍보 방안을 제안한다.

A tremendous increase in the human population has put poultry industry under an increased pressure to meet steep increase in the demand. Poultry is contributing 25% of the total world's meat production and lesser cost of investment per bird makes it more suitable for the further breeding programmes. Major poultry diseases frequently lead to cardiac damage and cause huge economic losses to poultry industry due to mortality. The in vitro embryonic stem cell (ESC) technology has a futuristic approach for homogeneous populace of differentiated cells, for their further transplantations. During in vitro conditions the differentiated cell populace can be used in grafting and transplantation processes to regenerate damaged tissues. Therefore, the current study targeted the use of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs) in the poultry production system through cardiac regeneration. The current study will also open new boulevard for the similar kind of research in other livestock species for the management of heart diseases.

A review on the technical development and agricultural policy direction for sustainable agriculture has been made to clarify the present conditions of agricultural environment for food production and natural resource conservation and to study prospects and solutions successfully to achieve food safety and environment conservation as the 21st agricultural paradigm. Although great improvement of environmentally sound and resource-conserving techniques, sustainability of Korean agriculture has been damaged by quantitative reduction and quality deterioration of agricultural land resources, insufficient implementation of low-input and organic matter recycling techniques and also improper cropping system. It is concluded that goal of sustainable agriculture can be successfully achieved by further improvement of environmentally friendly techniques, and stronger escalation of national implementation programmes with more financial supports including direct payments for sustainability of agriculture under systematical support and cooperation of AKS (agricultural knowledge system).

Various aviation safety performance and safety oversight programmes including CRM, SMS and USOAP are operated in various sizes, depending on the capacity of each State. Despite such activities, greate and small, aviation incidents and accidents are continuously occurred. In relation to this point, this paper suggests a result of comprehensive literature review for the purpose of building an aviation safety performance theory. This paper will define the concept of aviation safety and following created common perception on aviation safety will, as basic materials, contribute to pursue consistence and systematic aviation safety activities.

Distance Education is a non-traditional mode of training and can take many forms, one of which is the use of Computer Based Training (CBT). This paper reviews various quality assurance models for designing the delivery of programmes at the universities and other training institutions. It presents the findings of a CBT research that is currently being carried out at the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, University of the West Indies, Trinidad. The significance of the research is discussed with particular emphasis on the influence of curricula sequencing on knowledge acquisition in learners of varying cognitive styles. The paper concludes that adherence to quality assurance principles could result in the enhanced performance of users of the CBT.

연구개발 프로그램을 체계적으로 평가하려는 노력은 선진국의 경우 이미 상당히 정착된 단계에 이르고 있으며, 국내에서도 1999년부터 국가 연구개발 프로그램의 효율성 제고를 목적으로 국가과학기술위원회 조사${\cdot}$분석${\cdot}$평가를 실시하고 있다. 이러한 배경에는 정부 내에서 연구개발 프로그램이 다원화되고 다양화되고 있는 가운데 국가 전체적인 차원의 전략적 중요성은 계속 높아지고 있기 때문인 것으로 풀이된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 일반적인 프로그램 평가 모형을 고찰하고, 특히 국가 연구개발 프로그램 특성을 고려하여 연구개발 성과(Performance), 프로세스(Process), 사람(People)의 체계적인 평가를 위한 개념적 모형으로서 ${\ulcorner}$연구개발 프로그램 행동-프로세스 모형${\lrcorner}$을 제시하고자 한다.
